Thanks for having me guest for this video! I wasn't expecting the full stylistic homage! Great work! 🤣 (Also Shelbyville is a very weird place and I am glad the show is set in Springfield.)
I knew shelbyville was just a weird springfield but damn, your video really exposed me to the horrors of poor shelbyville. I hope they enjoy their turnip juice.
"Mayor Quimby supports revolving-door prisons. Mayor Quimby even released Sideshow Bob, a man twice convicted of attempted murder. Can you trust a man like Mayor Quimby? Vote Sideshow Bob for Mayor."
Remember how Jimbo and Kearnie were against cutting the head off Jebediah yet they were shown doing it in the intro? Remember Lisa found out he was really a pirate. Maybe Jumbo and Kearnie found out the truth later on and believed Lisa?
Keep it up Lydia. Not only will you hit the 200k mark the show could give your simpsons counterpart more episodes since your channel has been getting people interested in the show again.
I enjoy Springfield. Sure its founded by a pirate, but its a colourful place full of lovable people, mobsters, drunks, evil corporate businessmen and a very passionate baseball field! Not only does it's town hall like to break out in song on occasions, it's got one Helluva Burlesque House that do put the 'SPRING' in Springfield!
Amazing video I would visit: - The Kwik-E-Mart to buy some delicious stuff or getting sick - Chester J. Lampwick's Golden Mansion to take a good photo - The Jazz Hole to listen some good jazz - Krustylu Studios to see how is the work of all the programation of the TV in Springfield like Smartline
I used to think that Springfield was the most common name for American towns but apparently it's not and actually it's Riverside that is the most common name for an American town.
Lydia, Excellent work, as ever. .. and these people are crazy, I'd go straight to the Cider Mill to get my season pass, pays for itself after the sixteenth visit!😉
You know, most people don't know the difference between apple cider and apple juice, but I do. Now here's a little trick to help you remember. If it's clear and yella', you've got juice there, fella. If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town. Now, there's two exceptions and it gets kinda tricky here...
That overlook that rex banner was on when he said he was gonna catch the beer baron. 1. Beautiful view 2. Great acoustics I guess cause the beer baron can be heard from literal miles away
Great Job as Always Lydia! If I was to visit a place in Sringfield, I would have to pick Moe's Traven to hangout with favorite character Homer Simpson.
Thanks for this cohesive video. I have previously thought that nothing in The Simpsons is as flexible and bowsing as the history of Springfield, which bends every time to the demands of the story that moves the episode forward, for example, sometimes Jebediah is canon and sometimes not. But this video helped me understand that history has managed to keep its cohesiveness unlike I thought.
Okay I have 4 questions for you: Question 1: Can you list all the episodes where Maggie is wearing her star shaped snowsuit? Question 2: Can you list all the episodes where Maggie is wearing her star shaped snowsuit with the hood down? Question 3: Can you list all the episodes where Maggie is wearing her star shaped snowsuit unzippered? Question 4: Can you list all the episodes where Maggie is putting on her star shaped snowsuit?
Yeah The Simpsons movie does seem like a good place to end it. However many years later there was episode 500 I think and The Simpsons themselves moved to a nearby small town to getaway from Springfield, but then Springfield just move themselves over to that town and took over so that's something else that happened later on but oh well.
My pet theory is that Springfield is located in Virginia. It's history goes back all the way to colonial times and Virginia was one of the first British colonies in the Americas. Furthermore Jebediah Springfield once attempted to assassinate George Washington, who was from Virginia. Flash several decades and Monty's grandad Colonel Burns owned slaves which indicates that Springfield must have been in the south where slavery was legal. And considering how Virginia saw a lot of action during the Civil War, its no surprise that there were battles found at and around Springfield. Also Virginia is a coastal state, which makes sense since Springfield has a port with access to the sea. Then there's the fact that Virginia has an army base, navy base and air force base, all of which have came up and played a part in certain episodes.
I've been re watching the treehouse of horror episodes and I swear the scream at the end of thoes episodes makes me jump everytime even when I know it's comming
"after 600 miles" got me 🤣🤣 . That's the average miles you need to brakein miles for a vehicle. Basically: as soon as someone used the car any way but over gingerly, it exploded.
1st place i'd visit in Spring Field is Lard Lad Donuts so I.can pose in front of the statue with a colossal donut! Sweet video Lydia! Also love the collaboration with Real Jim's Shelbyville video! Its a perfect continuation! ❤
I love how you decided to make it look like it ended with the simpsons movie. That's also how I see it and I won't ever see it any other way cause this makes the most sense.
I remember when the movie came out and they had that contest you get to pick where Springfield is located in the United States. I took part in it thinking that obviously they would pick Springfield Ohio my home state because Nancy Cartwright is from Fairborn which is right outside of Springfield Ohio. But no they picked Springfield Vermont because there's a nuclear power plant nearby apparently.
If I ever went to Springfield 1st I'd go to Noiseland Arcade, shop and Androids dungeon followed immediately by the much better and probably cheaper Coolsville Comics, and end with a Space Mutants movie at the Aztec Theater
Id go first to the Springfield Retirement Castle to give Abe and his friends some hugs. I lost both of my Grandpas within a few years of each other (one in 2019 and one in 2022). Abe is one of my favorite characters and I used to work with seniors before my asthma got worse and PTSD as well (long story)
Speaking of The Simpsons Movie Lydia, I still want a sequel to it and it would be also the second theatrical Simpsons movie 🍿 based on The Simpsons, does that sound good 👍 to you?
Why wasn't the episode where they go to "the outlands" the episode where the simpsons are banished to the outlands then everyone jobs the simpsons and it becomes the new Springfield at the end of the episode included?
Film theory actually has a video where they try to figure out where Springfield is located in the states, it came out before you did one and in truth you two seem to agree very strongly about the location. Worth a watch.
I want to say that I would want to visit the Kwik E Mart first if I visited Springfield but it would almost certainly be Android's Dungeon (Worst. Choice. Ever.)
Good ol Jeb also started Whacking Day Lisa Claims there's no record of Jebediah Springfield before 1796, But this just proves, she is not a very good student, and does not know her history. As it is established in season 4,(Whacking Day) that Jebediah Springfield took part in the battle of Ticonderoga. This was in NY, on May 10th, 1775. So Yes Lisa there is a record of him. You just made it all up.
My International Studies teacher talked about the founding of Springfield all the time. It’s a great metaphor for American propaganda and how it effects the history many if us are taught

(Also Shelbyville is a very weird place and I am glad the show is set in Springfield.)
I always enjoy watching your videos Jim.
Yeah...i don't trust a town that's willing to spike another towns drinking water out of spite!
Watched it yesterday. Very comprehensive
They have yellow fire hydrants
I knew shelbyville was just a weird springfield but damn, your video really exposed me to the horrors of poor shelbyville. I hope they enjoy their turnip juice.
I believe i would go and visit the Simpsons themselves. Thank them for all the joy they brought to me....THEN go to the krustyburger.
You know, I'd say that's kinda creepy but tbf randos rock up on their doorstep daily and they just roll with it
@@slashbat2375 Exactly.
Agree
The poor monkeys
What if they don't know they're in a show
"Mayor Quimby supports revolving-door prisons. Mayor Quimby even released Sideshow Bob, a man twice convicted of attempted murder. Can you trust a man like Mayor Quimby? Vote Sideshow Bob for Mayor."
One of my favorite Simpsons quotes
Loved that quote. Best part of the worst Sideshow Bob episode.
He'd vote for you
No thats the atomic bomb one@SleepyLuigi
Remember how Jimbo and Kearnie were against cutting the head off Jebediah yet they were shown doing it in the intro? Remember Lisa found out he was really a pirate. Maybe Jumbo and Kearnie found out the truth later on and believed Lisa?
Just like people itl want to delete bad parts of history instead of learning from it
They're just such posers they waited for Bart to do it first and then copied him when it wasn't edgy anymore.
At this point The Simpsons are not The Simpsons without Lydia making a timeline
My 2 favourite Simpsons youtubers joining forces, I love it!
That fire hydrants line tripped me out when I was a kid, I would always wonder what color they were supposed to be 😂
I would go visit Springfield Gorge because I want to see if that ambulance is still crashed into that tree.
Keep it up Lydia. Not only will you hit the 200k mark the show could give your simpsons counterpart more episodes since your channel has been getting people interested in the show again.
She just did after your comment lol
@@blackhatfreak 😂.
A lot has changed in the Simpsons, and I find it crazy how so much has changed back when I was a kid to being 19 now.
You? I've been watching it change with the times since I was a kid, and I'm 40

I remember as a kid I wrote a book about one of my teachers vacationing in Springfield and meeting the Simpsons.
If Springfield exists, I would love to go meet The Simpsons in person. 🤩
Imagine that, Lydia!
Once again great video, your in-depth analysis of simpsons episodes make me love the show 10x more
Amazing video
I would visit:
- The Kwik-E-Mart to buy some delicious stuff or getting sick
- Chester J. Lampwick's Golden Mansion to take a good photo

Strange, I live close to Riverside County in California!! Bet there is an Orange County in Florida and Texas!!✌
Doh! Riverside is my home. But which one?
The history of springfield is weird and awesome, the creators have so much ideas.
Nice video

Are you grabbing a Duff, Duff Lite or Duff Dry?
@@TheSimpsonsTheorya Duff Lite.
Little known fact: Shelbyville Manhattan had a brother named Pittsburgh who went on to found the town of Detroit.
This was awesome!! Now, where would I go first in Springfield.. Hmm.. Probably to the beach before the jellyfish got there
This is why I love your videos
I'm heading on down to lard-lad donuts 🍩 first, then probably down to the town square to sit and people watch.

This is just a more entertaining history of post-war America.
You’re about to hit 200k Lydia! Well done and completely deserved ❤

I'd move to Springfield. The Krustyburger would be my first stop.
I'm going to Universal Studios soon, and I can't wait to try a Krusty Burger for real

If I visit Springfield my place, the visit will be the Krusty burger
Yaaaaaaaaas!! I've always wanted to live in Springfield and go to Apu's store!!
Springfield has history and time even though it seems timeless and the characters not aging except the Spucklers and some on the outskirts of town.
love watching the timeline videos, this one's no exception!

I will want to see if it's really five corners where you can see 5 different states in one location
I've been re watching the treehouse of horror episodes and I swear the scream at the end of thoes episodes makes me jump everytime even when I know it's comming
I also think Springfield is in Oregon, it's got lakes mountains beaches and deserts, thats where it lives in my head anyway
I'd imagine the first place I'd go is the doctor to ask why in the world I woke up in a cartoon... then probably the simpsons house
I would honestly just wander around, don't think I could choose just one location.
I would visit the Springfield library first
If I ever visited Springfield I would go to comic book guy his store to buy the latest issue of Radioactive Man.
I would come to Nelson and Lisa's wedding in Springfield!
