Finally a practical solution for a relatively simple bench design! One of the better presentation on you tube that doesn't fall under the category of click-bait. Thank you.
Thank you!!
I'm glad you did this. It drives me up the wall when you go to a wood working channel a they go "You can build this cheap and easy work bench at home " then proceed to use ten grand worth of professional table saws, jointers, planers and other assorted pro power tools which let me assure you I don't have at home I don't know abut anyone else.
If I was going to build your Kayak rack / work bench is I might add some bracing to stop it racking overtime
I built a "workbench" like this for my 90+ lb "outdoor tool" and it definitely is more than helpful for moving the "tool" around the garage. Great build!!!!!!!!
Haha awesome 👊🏼👊🏼
That is awesome. you could cut some V shaped pvc rollers for the top of the workbench.
By far the BEST simple table built I have come across. And believe me, I have watched hundreds...
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for another great video. I look forward to these. Maybe start a bass fishing how-to channel?? 😬
I thought about it, but I just want to keep it fun haha
Your equipment and tricks are very high quality boss, greetings from Indonesia 🖐️👍👍👍🙏♥️
Thanks for watching!!
That truly would make a nice workbench. You will need to do a video of you on a fishing trip sometime
Nice Build!
I love the bait and switch. You're right. I would absolutely NOT have watched a "kayak cart build" video.
o7
I find that Northern Tools has great carts affordable. Thanks for showing us both ideas. Accidentally on purpose 😂
That's a solid cart/bench/whatever you want to use it for, lol. And I'm pretty sure I've got the same truck sitting in my driveway. Love the content as always. Thanks!
Haha awesome 👊🏼👊🏼
I moved into a new house and need a workbench in the garage. I think this is something I can manage with the tools on hand (ie. no table saw or drill press or wood working appliances.) Thanks for the plans!
Thanks for watching!
Great looking "workbench" John! Many uses for it too!
For sure!! Thanks!
Love that you can do multiple things with this!
LOL - great work as always.
I appreciate it!
That is one well built "workbench"! Thanks for the free plans!
No problem! 👍🏽
Clever. And you’re 100% right. I likely would have passed on that vid if you advertised as a Kayak rack. BUT… your half-lap design is going into my upcoming bench build. Appreciate that nugget as well as all your content.
Thanks for watching man!
Great idea. This cart to me, only looks a little different from your workbench plan. Love them both bro. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you!
Yeah man, appreciate the video as always. I'll be remixing some of the ideas presented here for my upcoming workbench build.
Awesome 👊🏼
😂 you were correct. Yet thank you for thos content.
I dig it.
thanks
Great video I also love to fish.
Hola! 🖐Really great project and video. Glad you "disguised" it because many would have glossed over it. There is a lot of info to be gained from here and can be applied on many other projects and builds. Thanks for sharing. Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊
Thanks for watching!!
What is the name of the equipment used to support the wooden planks?
Nicely built! I’ve done many half laps with a circular saw I always start with the accurate cut first, so that I don’t go past it by accident while I’m quickly making the interior cuts.
🙌🏼👍🏽
As it turns out. I watched for the bench build but had a laugh with kayaks. As I kayak also.
Haha good! 👍🏽
That is so awesome!! What a great idea!
Thank you!!
Great build John, love the content brother 💯
Thanks man!
Great looking bench and thanks for providing the plans. I think with a bit of modification to make the bottom 'shelf' not as wide so a chair could slide right up and maybe make it a little taller, this would make a great electronics / crafts workbench.
Nice!! 😎
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nice!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video
Thanks!!
Really liked the video. Thanks for using the circular saw for most cuts. 😊
Was wondering why you didn't put the legs on the inside of the frame - and then I saw you were using it for your kayaks. Now I get it!
Nice job!
Thank you!
Great video!
I appreciate it!
Thats a really rad kayak stand dude. I like that it can be used for either or. nice work, got a subscriber out of me. Happy new year.
Happy new year!
Amazing vid
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Why does everybody's lumber on RUclips look so much better than what my local lumber yard or big box store have 😖
Gotta sort through it! Haha
Nice "workbench", and I just bought 3 Dewalt 20 volt power tools last week. I hope they're as great as they look..
Love them! Hobie kayaks bro. I admit a little pricey but to me worth it.
Absolutely! 👊🏼
Great build, Im looking forward to building mine....Couldnt get the build plans???
First time i was catfished and not disappointed 😂
😂😂
Well buddy it all worked out at the end the kiyak bench slash work bench turned out great great job and thanks for the free plans awesome videos
I'm just getting started on my woodworking journey but I love the simplicity of this bench with options to expand it as needed. I want to integratea table saw as well so I figure maybe removing one of the ribs and then building a small shelf for the table saw would work. Maybe adding 2 extra legs to fully support the table saw?
Good idea!!
I kind of did the same thing but I built a shelving unit with my kayak truck bed height so I just slide it. I would send a picture but I don’t know how
Nice!! 👊🏼
Wow wish our local store had nice lumber like that. Almost impossible to find half decent straight lumber.
Great build John!
Where are you getting those straight 2x4s from ? My local HD and Lowes seem to have the curviest/ wettest lumber in the US :(
Opened a fresh bundle at the store and hurried home to put em together before they got too wonky haha
Anyone have a good source of untreated 4x4 lumber? I have not been able to find them anywhere.
Still not enoug tools. The pick-up is missing. How can I do this with a Miata? 😜
😂😂
Tried to down load your plans. After I put in all the info you ask for it looped back to the beginning. After 3 times I decided your plans are that valuable. How did you get so many subscribers?
Not sure what the problem is on your end but thousands of people have gotten the plans no problem.
Sneaky….Totally had me thinking you were building yourself a workbench. Once you were painting and priming I was like something isn’t right. If a top was gonna go on it, why paint what it would attach to? Looks great and will work for exactly what you need.
Haha absolutely! And I do work on the kayaks while they’re on it, so still counts as a workbench too 😉
Any time I see you use dewalt tools in a video, I feel like its your secret signal that you're being held against your will.
😂😂😂 I don’t discriminate haha. One of the best job site table saws you can buy, and I love that little circular saw!
I don’t understand the idiots that get suckered into sticking with one brand only even if a different brand makes a certain tool better
Yes, thanks for wasting my time. I wanted to see a work bench build. Not a cart build.
So put a piece of plywood on it exactly as I showed? Still a workbench.
No
Nice!
