Me three that shows that Isabella still loves her baby sister despite being rude to her to hide her insecurities and keep her pressured perfection to herself and when she trapped herself in her vines I was shocked and shows that mirabel loves her sister and let’s her encourage her power!❤️😭
She's also almost looks scared when she sees Mirabel and seems to be just telling her to go away instead. Has the feel of "stay back I don't want to hurt you". Like that was the first sign she wasn't as in control as she thought she was.

I can clearly see why Dolores is angry- Isabella played around with her feelings by pretty much insulting her and revealing her love in the worst way possible.

I felt that in this universe, both Dolores and Isabella are jealous of each other, though for different reasons than Mirabel and Isabella are. Dolores, obviously, is upset due to Isabella marrying the man that she was in love with for so many years, though there is also an inferiority complex in there as well; due to Abuela’s clear preference of Isa and her more “perfect” gift: Isa’s powers are both practical and pretty: she can grow flowers to bring joy to the village and take care of the near-infinite food supply at her disposal. Meanwhile Dolores’s super-hearing is shown to be incredibly painful to her, and it is seen as mostly invasive by the villagers. She’s just a nosy little gossip, how on earth can she compare to the perfect, delicate, favorite Isabella for Mariano’s love? So Dolores stood by, quiet, shoving all those feelings down and hid them because it was far too painful to bear. She never knew the extent of Isa’s suffering; her cousin never dropped her facade at all while she was married to Mariano. In this way, she too made a sacrifice for her family. But Isabella never thought of them. To her, Dolores got the easier end of the deal: sure, she was hopelessly in love with Mariano, and yeah yeah she must be dealing with a bunch of heartbreak right now, but eventually she’ll get over it and find some new hot gossip to spread all around the place with that sharp hearing of hers. I grinned so hard at Mirabel showing up and bringing Isa down with kindness, empathy and understanding. It IS fucked up that she's forced to live a life she doesn't want, married to a man she's, at best, lukewarm towards and she has a right to be angry and hurt about it. Dolores, however, doesn't seem to see it that way.
She isn't bringing Isabela down, you can see clearly from the lines "Give it to your sister you're not alone" and "I'll never let you carry this on your own". On the side note that is me being petty, if Isabela's situation is f*cked up, so shouldn't her bullying Mirabel just as f*cked up of a situation? Petty side note aside, I really like how both still deeply care and love each other with Isabela trying her best to warn Mirabel when her rage is about to burst any minute now and Mirabel risking herself trying to "bring down" her sister.
I don't think Delores don't see it that way, truthfully I feel Delores knows everyone's pain and she can see (or rather hear) it but she doesn't have the power to do anything (or feel she doesn't) so she stands by and watch/listen. She's a spectator I feel like who feels the pressure of their abuela since she is also one of the oldest. She doesn't go against anything her abuela said at any point, and even if she loved the man her cousin didn't she didn't say anything because it's what her abuela wanted. I feel like Delores maybe did pity Isabella and related to her, but isa (being the villain in this because duh that's what the whole song is lol-) mocked her and belittled her own sacrifices
I would also like to add that even though what Issabella was put through was horrible, Delores had it objectively worse. Scientifically, Delores should be insane...
Oh, this was absolutely wonderful! Isabela shows her growth and releases all of the anger and hatred she has had all this time. She even tells Dolores that she can have her man. Isabela had all right to be mad, especially about her grandmother. However, Mirabel never left her since she understood Isabela's pain and wanted to help her. I love how Isabel may have wanted to stop her, but she did not wish to harm Mirabel, leading to her vines receding to nothing but still free and tablet thinking straight with Mirabel at her side. The Surface Pressure song was perfect for the episode, but now DOlores seems to be pissed; the question is at who since I can imagine that Dolores wanted the house destroyed so she could be free of her curse, but Mirabel, Im not sure since Dolores didn't seem to hold no rage towards her. She may be upset that Mirabel got in her way to remove her 'gift' and try to kill Mirabel. Still, I say 11/10 stars and two thumbs way up!
My thoughts are that Dolores, as Isabela's shadow, maybe felt cheated. Isabela dared to feel this way when she had all Dolores ever wanted- Abuela 's love, Mariano's love, perfection- she knew it would probably destroy her like it did Bruno, but still. Maybe she thinks that Camilo would never even rush to help her like Mirabel did. And then Isabela told everyone about her crush? Mocking her for her feelings?

Oh, didn't mention this but I love how Julieta and Augustin were the only ones shown to be released when Isabela let go, as a possible showcase of how she's not that mad at them.
I'm really happy at how you also touched on the issues with the parents (Isabela's), and how just because they're also partially influenced by Abuela doesn't mean they're innocent and that "hurting" them isn't justified. Honestly, they should've stepped up when all of their children were heavily neglected, like with Mirabel that was so so SO obvious.
Except that they did try to help Mirabel multiple times, and there is one scene when the dad tries to calm down Luisa. They didn't influence Abuela at all.
@@yay29823yeah, but they only started paying attention to Luisa when it was clear she was hurting, but if she hadn’t I doubt they would’ve paid any attention at all. I know there’s things that we don’t know, as the audience our perspective is limited to what’s shown, but aside from that instance, was there ever an instance where the parents intervened on Luisa or Isabela’s behalf, no. Even with this whole marriage proposal thing, they never once pulled Isabela aside and asked her if that was what she really wanted, yet throughout the movie they both go out of their way to do that for Mirabel, they both confronted Abuela about her harshness, but we never see the same concern for Luisa and Isabela’s well being, and I understand from their perspective they seemed fine, and I can understand a greater concern for Mirabel’s well being as she’s the only one in the family without a gift, however this does not excuse the negligence, as a parent it is your responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of each child you have, even if they were caring towards Mirabel, could we say the same for the other two, and only responding when there’s something clearly wrong isn’t really being a good parent either in my opinion, you should be there to support no matter what. It doesn’t take much for the parents to just pull them aside and ask them how everything’s going, especially the dad as he doesn’t have many other responsibilities besides being a dad, the mother has a whole town to heal, so I could understand for her, but even so they should’ve payed an equal amount of attention to all three.

For as long as the sisters acted like they were fine (which was what they were forced to do by Abuela Alma), the parents would never check if they were okay. Julieta, Pepa and Bruno likely had the same upbringing, seeing as Alma is their MOTHER so they know damn well the kind of pressure she puts on the family. One ran off, the rest just succumbed to it and let their own children suffer the same way. They do not get to escape the blame here, they knew what Alma was doing to their kids and they let it happen. The fathers had to have known too, unless they never truly got to know their wives.

I honestly thought it was kinda funny when Isabela clapped in-front of Delores just to set off her super hearing, the cruelty wasn’t really necessary, but it was kinda admirable using her gift against her.
i noticed and LOVE how the duet between mirabel and isabela goes from call and response as well as discordant overlapping lyrics- to ACTUALLY harmonising while singing the same thing! such incredible detail!

Wow! Isabella's angry glow up was beautiful and loved how she was reading everyone for filth. But was happy that despite it all Mirabel was able to get through to her in the end.
Damn, that one when Isabela trapped Dolores and Mariano with vines and played with them like puppets felt so unsettling. Actually I never though about Isa snapping on Dolores for not opening her feelings to Mariano, but I like this idea. Also it's sweet that Mirabel is one who managed to bring Isabela back to normal - recalls both for original and alternate "What Else Can I Do?"
I guess, but that argument feels very hypocritical coming from Isabela of all people, she was the same one who never told Abuela or at least Mariano that she never wanted to marry him. It feels very much like victim blaming. Dolores’ actions are partially influenced by Isabela’s actions, so if Isabela wasn’t going to stand up for herself and make a decision, how was Dolores supposed to? I mean, it isn’t her fault Isabela didn’t want to tell anyone the truth, yes it would’ve been hard, but she’s a person, she has the agency to say no if she pleases, and blaming Dolores for something she herself didn’t have the courage to do is hypocritical and petty. Also, Isabela arguably had all the power in that situation, as she was the “perfect girl” if she would’ve said no, there’s a chance Abuela would’ve called off the marriage, if anyone else said it she would’ve surely refused. Also, it does work out in Abuela’s favor in the end, because Mariano does in fact get married to a Madrigal, just not the one he intended to at first.

That metamorphosis line went HARD. This was absolutely amazing and felt truly heartbreakingly good. Villain Isa was a baddie and best villain and I could truly feel what she felt in those moments because I’ve been through similar situations but I’m relieved Mirabel could free Isa and get her on her way to a better path to find herself and her happiness. This was absolutely beautiful to watch. I loved it. The animation absolutely stunning capturing the movie’s style while it being your own at the same time it’s amazing. Can’t wait for Dolores!

I just had to ramble some. The detail in the song and artwork is just *mwah* *chef’s kiss*. Perfection. The micro expressions and movement have me grinning from ear to ear. Too bad Luisa didn’t make an appearance since this is a awesome new rendition of her song. Lol. But seriously, this is a masterpiece! The thing that I find hilarious and heartbreaking about villain Isabela songs out there is that it’s typically her yelling at Alma and Mariano. It makes sense she’d be the most bitter at these two, but I just find it so funny whenever Mariano gets a imprisoned and a verbal smack down because his biggest flaw is that he is just existing. That’s it! He’s just ignorant of the situation surrounding him and gets yelled at. From what we’ve seen, he’s not malicious and is generally kind and respectful. So, I’m always sitting here laughing at his obliviousness and how much he has to suffer for it. Now, Dolores is my all time favorite character but I understand why people hate her. I genuinely do and it hurts my heart. (She knows info that could help, but she doesn’t act. I understand the frustration with a character who does that.) Yet it makes the dynamic between Isa and Dolores all the more interesting. I relate to Isa so much it hurts with the oldest daughter, perfectionistic, people pleasing tendencies. I see how she has a right to be angry because no one reached out to help her and she broke under the pressure. Yet, at the same time, I can see how Dolores is right in her own eyes for her actions. She’s suffering too but doesn’t speak up because she is afraid of what will happen and how things might change. They could change for the better or just make the situation so much worse. So for her, the best option is just suffer in silence. Isabela and Dolores are neither 100% in the right or wrong from where they stand. Another hilarious thing I found was that Isa in her villain arc just sent Dolores into her own. (Makes sense though, bc who would want their secret crush to be outed in such a humiliating way. Also, Isa’s clap in her face and making her dance with Mariano was a needlessly cruel details that I loved they added.) You best believe I am on pins and needles waiting for Dolores’ villain song.

Haven’t finished the video yet (watching on my laptop), but I have to admire how Isa doesn’t hurt Mirabel in her anger. It was never her fault for how she was treated, and she knows that. Especially with Mirabel being the one to help her expand her power’s range. She helped her, not hurt her.
Well, you could argue the same for the majority of the people here, they weren’t at all responsible for Isabela’s suffering, quite frankly the only reason why Isabela didn’t take it out on Mirabel is because she’s the one who helped her reach her true potential. But aside from that, Isabela couldn’t care less, we’ve seen her torment Mirabel throughout the movie, despite the fact that Mirabel did nothing to contribute to Isabela’s suffering, Dolores doesn’t either, the only thing she’s guilty of is inaction, for not telling Mariano about her true feelings, and the parents are guilty of ignorance, for not asking Isabela sooner about her feelings. The only one who’s truly guilty is Abuela for forcing this marriage on Isabela in the first place. That’s truly who Isabela should’ve confronted on this matter, but the rest are just easy scapegoats to blame for her inaction. She herself could’ve ended her misery long ago by just telling the truth, in fact she herself contributes to other people’s misery by not being honest, so is there really one person to blame here? Blaming Dolores for not telling Mariano about her true feelings, in essence shows a lack of self-awareness and reflection on her actions up until this point. Dolores hid the truth because she felt trapped and that there was no other choice, the same way that Isabela felt. So how can she blame Dolores for this, when she really only did the same thing Isabela did all her life?

I like the detail that she left the other ones besides Dolores younger than her free. She doesn’t blame them even when she’s upset. They were treated so similar, even her powers don’t blame them inside her. She instinctively knows that it the pressure they were put on was similar to hers, even if done in different ways.
I hope that Camilo makes an appearance for Delores villain song. He was the only one at the wedding who seemed to notice her feeling sad at the wedding. Besides having a close relationship with one another him and Pepa understand where she’s coming as she views it as nothing as a curse. Maybe not to her extent where it drove it her mad but he loses his sense of self so he can help Mirabel in trying to help Delores.

It certainly says something that Alma had more interaction with Isabella than Isabella’s own parents. Given that Mirabel is the main protagonist and the family scapegoat, it makes sense why her parents gave her more attention and spoke up for her against Alma. But sadly, I don’t think they ever checked in with Isabella or picked up signs that their eldest daughter wasn’t too happy about her engagement. It’s definitely one of the awful things about being the family golden child. Everyone assumes that you are ok and your life is perfect, thereby you are perfect, when that is so far from the truth. No wonder Isa lashed out at her parents in this AU.

This series is turning more and more into Bruno's Telenovelas😂 But jokes aside, I really love the way you portrayed Isabellas feelings and how you intwined the surface pressure song inside it since she felt forced to fulfill Abuelas expectations just like everyone else did in the family. Her whole family just added to the pressure and in not seeing the pain she went through, they let her down. She was rightfully pissed, but that makes the bittersweet ending with mirabel even more impactful, the only person who cared enough to realize and asked about her feelings. The whole song is excelently written and the animatic looks stunning alongside it. Bravo👏

I grinned so hard at Mirabel showing up and bringing Isa down with kindness, empathy and understanding. It IS fucked up that she's forced to live a life she doesn't want, married to a man she's, at best, lukewarm towards and she has a right to be angry and hurt about it. Dolores, however, doesn't seem to see it that way.
She isn't bringing Isabela down, you can see clearly from the lines "Give it to your sister you're not alone" and "I'll never let you carry this on your own". On the side note that is me being petty, if Isabela's situation is f*cked up, so shouldn't her bullying Mirabel just as f*cked up of a situation? Petty side note aside, I really like how both still deeply care and love each other with Isabela trying her best to warn Mirabel when her rage is about to burst any minute now and Mirabel risking herself trying to "bring down" her sister.

I don't think Delores don't see it that way, truthfully I feel Delores knows everyone's pain and she can see (or rather hear) it but she doesn't have the power to do anything (or feel she doesn't) so she stands by and watch/listen. She's a spectator I feel like who feels the pressure of their abuela since she is also one of the oldest. She doesn't go against anything her abuela said at any point, and even if she loved the man her cousin didn't she didn't say anything because it's what her abuela wanted. I feel like Delores maybe did pity Isabella and related to her, but isa (being the villain in this because duh that's what the whole song is lol-) mocked her and belittled her own sacrifices

Oh, this was absolutely wonderful! Isabela shows her growth and releases all of the anger and hatred she has had all this time. She even tells Dolores that she can have her man. Isabela had all right to be mad, especially about her grandmother. However, Mirabel never left her since she understood Isabela's pain and wanted to help her. I love how Isabel may have wanted to stop her, but she did not wish to harm Mirabel, leading to her vines receding to nothing but still free and tablet thinking straight with Mirabel at her side. The Surface Pressure song was perfect for the episode, but now DOlores seems to be pissed; the question is at who since I can imagine that Dolores wanted the house destroyed so she could be free of her curse, but Mirabel, Im not sure since Dolores didn't seem to hold no rage towards her. She may be upset that Mirabel got in her way to remove her 'gift' and try to kill Mirabel. Still, I say 11/10 stars and two thumbs way up!

I'm really happy at how you also touched on the issues with the parents (Isabela's), and how just because they're also partially influenced by Abuela doesn't mean they're innocent and that "hurting" them isn't justified. Honestly, they should've stepped up when all of their children were heavily neglected, like with Mirabel that was so so SO obvious.
Except that they did try to help Mirabel multiple times, and there is one scene when the dad tries to calm down Luisa. They didn't influence Abuela at all.

I know there’s things that we don’t know, as the audience our perspective is limited to what’s shown, but aside from that instance, was there ever an instance where the parents intervened on Luisa or Isabela’s behalf, no. Even with this whole marriage proposal thing, they never once pulled Isabela aside and asked her if that was what she really wanted, yet throughout the movie they both go out of their way to do that for Mirabel, they both confronted Abuela about her harshness, but we never see the same concern for Luisa and Isabela’s well being, and I understand from their perspective they seemed fine, and I can understand a greater concern for Mirabel’s well being as she’s the only one in the family without a gift, however this does not excuse the negligence, as a parent it is your responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of each child you have, even if they were caring towards Mirabel, could we say the same for the other two, and only responding when there’s something clearly wrong isn’t really being a good parent either in my opinion, you should be there to support no matter what. It doesn’t take much for the parents to just pull them aside and ask them how everything’s going, especially the dad as he doesn’t have many other responsibilities besides being a dad, the mother has a whole town to heal, so I could understand for her, but even so they should’ve payed an equal amount of attention to all three.

For as long as the sisters acted like they were fine (which was what they were forced to do by Abuela Alma), the parents would never check if they were okay. Julieta, Pepa and Bruno likely had the same upbringing, seeing as Alma is their MOTHER so they know damn well the kind of pressure she puts on the family. One ran off, the rest just succumbed to it and let their own children suffer the same way.

Wow! Isabella's angry glow up was beautiful and loved how she was reading everyone for filth. But was happy that despite it all Mirabel was able to get through to her in the end.
Damn, that one when Isabela trapped Dolores and Mariano with vines and played with them like puppets felt so unsettling. Actually I never though about Isa snapping on Dolores for not opening her feelings to Mariano, but I like this idea.
Also it's sweet that Mirabel is one who managed to bring Isabela back to normal - recalls both for original and alternate "What Else Can I Do?"
I guess, but that argument feels very hypocritical coming from Isabela of all people, she was the same one who never told Abuela or at least Mariano that she never wanted to marry him. It feels very much like victim blaming. Dolores’ actions are partially influenced by Isabela’s actions, so if Isabela wasn’t going to stand up for herself and make a decision, how was Dolores supposed to? I mean, it isn’t her fault Isabela didn’t want to tell anyone the truth, yes it would’ve been hard, but she’s a person, she has the agency to say no if she pleases, and blaming Dolores for something she herself didn’t have the courage to do is hypocritical and petty. Also, Isabela arguably had all the power in that situation, as she was the “perfect girl” if she would’ve said no, there’s a chance Abuela would’ve called off the marriage, if anyone else said it she would’ve surely refused. Also, it does work out in Abuela’s favor in the end, because Mariano does in fact get married to a Madrigal, just not the one he intended to at first.

That metamorphosis line went HARD. This was absolutely amazing and felt truly heartbreakingly good. Villain Isa was a baddie and best villain and I could truly feel what she felt in those moments because I’ve been through similar situations but I’m relieved Mirabel could free Isa and get her on her way to a better path to find herself and her happiness. This was absolutely beautiful to watch. I loved it. The animation absolutely stunning capturing the movie’s style while it being your own at the same time it’s amazing. Can’t wait for Dolores!

I just had to ramble some. The detail in the song and artwork is just *mwah* *chef’s kiss*. Perfection. The micro expressions and movement have me grinning from ear to ear. Too bad Luisa didn’t make an appearance since this is a awesome new rendition of her song. Lol. But seriously, this is a masterpiece!
The thing that I find hilarious and heartbreaking about villain Isabela songs out there is that it’s typically her yelling at Alma and Mariano. It makes sense she’d be the most bitter at these two, but I just find it so funny whenever Mariano gets a imprisoned and a verbal smack down because his biggest flaw is that he is just existing. That’s it! He’s just ignorant of the situation surrounding him and gets yelled at. From what we’ve seen, he’s not malicious and is generally kind and respectful. So, I’m always sitting here laughing at his obliviousness and how much he has to suffer for it.
Now, Dolores is my all time favorite character but I understand why people hate her. I genuinely do and it hurts my heart. (She knows info that could help, but she doesn’t act. I understand the frustration with a character who does that.) Yet it makes the dynamic between Isa and Dolores all the more interesting. I relate to Isa so much it hurts with the oldest daughter, perfectionistic, people pleasing tendencies. I see how she has a right to be angry because no one reached out to help her and she broke under the pressure. Yet, at the same time, I can see how Dolores is right in her own eyes for her actions. She’s suffering too but doesn’t speak up because she is afraid of what will happen and how things might change. They could change for the better or just make the situation so much worse. So for her, the best option is just suffer in silence. Isabela and Dolores are neither 100% in the right or wrong from where they stand.
Another hilarious thing I found was that Isa in her villain arc just sent Dolores into her own. (Makes sense though, bc who would want their secret crush to be outed in such a humiliating way. Also, Isa’s clap in her face and making her dance with Mariano was a needlessly cruel details that I loved they added.) You best believe I am on pins and needles waiting for Dolores’ villain song.
The fact that Dolores blushes when she looks away from Mariano but Mariano doesn't is just a perfect small detail.

Haven’t finished the video yet (watching on my laptop), but I have to admire how Isa doesn’t hurt Mirabel in her anger. It was never her fault for how she was treated, and she knows that. Especially with Mirabel being the one to help her expand her power’s range. She helped her, not hurt her.
Well, you could argue the same for the majority of the people here, they weren’t at all responsible for Isabela’s suffering, quite frankly the only reason why Isabela didn’t take it out on Mirabel is because she’s the one who helped her reach her true potential. But aside from that, Isabela couldn’t care less, we’ve seen her torment Mirabel throughout the movie, despite the fact that Mirabel did nothing to contribute to Isabela’s suffering, Dolores doesn’t either, the only thing she’s guilty of is inaction, for not telling Mariano about her true feelings, and the parents are guilty of ignorance, for not asking Isabela sooner about her feelings. The only one who’s truly guilty is Abuela for forcing this marriage on Isabela in the first place. That’s truly who Isabela should’ve confronted on this matter, but the rest are just easy scapegoats to blame for her inaction. She herself could’ve ended her misery long ago by just telling the truth, in fact she herself contributes to other people’s misery by not being honest, so is there really one person to blame here? Blaming Dolores for not telling Mariano about her true feelings, in essence shows a lack of self-awareness and reflection on her actions up until this point. Dolores hid the truth because she felt trapped and that there was no other choice, the same way that Isabela felt. So how can she blame Dolores for this, when she really only did the same thing Isabela did all her life?

I like the detail that she left the other ones besides Dolores younger than her free. She doesn’t blame them even when she’s upset. They were treated so similar, even her powers don’t blame them inside her. She instinctively knows that it the pressure they were put on was similar to hers, even if done in different ways.
I hope that Camilo makes an appearance for Delores villain song. He was the only one at the wedding who seemed to notice her feeling sad at the wedding. Besides having a close relationship with one another him and Pepa understand where she’s coming as she views it as nothing as a curse. Maybe not to her extent where it drove it her mad but he loses his sense of self so he can help Mirabel in trying to help Delores.

It certainly says something that Alma had more interaction with Isabella than Isabella’s own parents.
Given that Mirabel is the main protagonist and the family scapegoat, it makes sense why her parents gave her more attention and spoke up for her against Alma. But sadly, I don’t think they ever checked in with Isabella or picked up signs that their eldest daughter wasn’t too happy about her engagement. It’s definitely one of the awful things about being the family golden child. Everyone assumes that you are ok and your life is perfect, thereby you are perfect, when that is so far from the truth. No wonder Isa lashed out at her parents in this AU.

But jokes aside, I really love the way you portrayed Isabellas feelings and how you intwined the surface pressure song inside it since she felt forced to fulfill Abuelas expectations just like everyone else did in the family. Her whole family just added to the pressure and in not seeing the pain she went through, they let her down. She was rightfully pissed, but that makes the bittersweet ending with mirabel even more impactful, the only person who cared enough to realize and asked about her feelings.
