I just realized, in Twilight's argument with Pinkie here, Pinkie is clearly hurt by Twi, saying she "should have been a better friend." and trying to throw a party to entice her. Clearly Pinkie has developed some kind of connection with Twi, thinks of her as a friend, and cares enough to try and help. But Twilight calls Pinkie "The pink one." Implying she doesn't even remember Pinkie's name. I suspect in this timeline, they all met and worked together to stop Nightmare Moon as before, but after that Twilight tried to be as reclusive as possible, and at best pretended for appearance's sake whenever the Princess showed, until she snapped, and it probably didn't take long if she doesn't even remember Pinkie's name.
At first I thought that she was delusional and actually never met them except in passing, because in the beginning, it said she was talking to ponies who weren't there, and the song mentions that in her letters, they are the best of friends, but "don't ask to meet them."And then she slipped into paranoid delusions and hallucinations about what they thought of her. But considering that Princess Luna is there, it does make more sense that she teamed up with them, but the friendship didn't last. In the "don't ask to see them" part, it looks like there is blood on her. Maybe there was an argument, and then the paranoia and hallucinations began. Then Pinkie Pie brought everyone over to make amends, but Twilight was too far gone by this point.

interesting to note that twi clearly had some sort of magic inhibiter put on her horn when they caught her, but in the cell, it's gone and she's clearly able to use magic meaning it's entirely possible for her to escape if she wanted to given her ingenuity with magic. She's in that cell by choice just so she doesn't have to deal with anypony ever again.
Wasn’t there a crack on her horn in that last scene of the video? My first thought was that her horn was damaged in someway, maybe self inflicted in her madness. So idk maybe by the end, her magic /has/ been inhibited. It’s just via an injury rather than a direct inhibitor which now greatly limits her abilities to basic spells. Or maybe I’m just being a little silly lol

Ough I have so many thoughts. Firstly, I think in this timeline, Twilight's encounter with Nightmare Moon went...okay. It worked, but the bond didn't build as quickly as it did in the canon pilot, for whatever reason. Maybe Twilight was a bit more neurotic and abrasive due to the looming threat, or maybe Nightmare Moon's threats just didn't build as big a bond. Maybe Twilight even got herself out of a situation or two, which is very feasible considering how hyperindependent she is in the pilot. But the elements, being tied to all the ponies there, worked well enough. However, Celestia didn't see the disconnect - or simply dismissed it as harmless, after all, Twilight was always cordial. The relationship would build naturally. But she underestimated how much the suddenness of everything effected Twilight - forced to leave her family, her mentor (and secondary mother figure), all her studies, for something she hasn't valued in YEARS. It causes her neuroses to flare higher and higher, especially when the "outcome" the princess wanted isn't occuring; she is STRUGGLING to bond with these ponies, understandably so with how reclusive she is and how new it all is! She fakes a lot of the letters, and the few that are real are exaggerated. However, she is unable to let it go - she feels like a failure, failing her mentor (remember 'Lesson Zero'? She is NOT doing great) and the distance between her and these other ponies, who all seem to get along just fine, is growing. She can't help but play RD's comment in loop from the night of the party - a *spy.* Is that what they think of her? The best student of Celestia's class? A spy, a threat, a fake, a FRAUD? It eats away at her, and as she secludes herself more and more, it starts to become a self-fulfilling prophecy; ponies do indeed start to whisper, though it's more out of worry than an attempt of exclusion. But Twilight doesn't know that. She's too busy dealing with increasingly violent urges and resentment. The only one trying to reach out is Pinkie Pie, which in another timeline, maybe have worked; but Pinkie is highly emotional and hyper, which isn't great for someone deep in emotional and mental turmoil. She ends up trying to throw Twi a party to help her socialize and get her out of her shell, but the sudden confrontation just makes her snap - too many high running emotions cause her to lash out, wielding a knife for "defense" against those that get too close, and using her powerful magic to light the town ablaze in broad daylight. In the midst, Spike writes Celestia a note, begging her to help the ponies of ponyville and his sister. The mane six survive (RD + AJ suspend her long enough for Celestia to arrive, spare some injuries), although there are plenty of casualties. However, once Celestia arrives, she becomes docile - a mix of coming to, horrified at what she's done, fear of Celestia's power, and shame. Celestia can't bring herself to hurt her pupil, her faux-daughter, though - as she watches Twilight cower, she sees the same filly who was scared of being rejected from magic school. In any other case, the punishment would be far more severe - but in this case, she orders Twilight be taken to the maximum security part of Canterlot security asylum, grieving her subjects as the wagon wheels off, with Twilight sobbing and screaming inside. And now, Twilight sits in the cell, venting her internalized frustrations, angry and ashamed and manic, perhaps in a state of genuine psychosis from the sounds of it. She misses Celestia, her family, and maybe even the possibility of her friendships. But it's too late for that. Far too late.
Maybe a contributor is that some of the nightmare force that made nightmare Moon latched on to the elements but Twilight was more vulnerable then the others
I think my favorite detail is that Spike seems to be leaning against the wall next to Twilight’s cell, clearly still wanting to be near his sister despite all she did, wanting her to eventually get better
If you look closely you can see tally marks on the wall. He’s keeping count of how long she’s been in there and how long he’s been by himself, Celesetia is probably the one taking care of him for now until he gets like a foster family or adoptive
Think the scariest thing about this, is all the neurotic behavior twilight exhibited in the series, this was never a far away possibility, she could at any time have snapped and decided that she hated making friends, she hated being around other ponies, and gone on a murderous rampage.
Yeah she jumped to extreme and irrational bits of logic a ton; just look at lesson zero ( brainwashing a town and such over not having a problem to write about) so yeah she was on the brink of insanity often times

Twi snapping into a murderous rampage, never too far off? It never was even a remote possibility in the series. This is has never even been hinted in G4.
Neurosis doesnt necessarily mean murder. You need childhood abuse to level of being a psychopath, plus neurosis. I would guess. But, yeah, low social battery, low sleep, eventually drives ppl agitated and paranoid. Its in line with traits she has tho of course, just the extreme of it is, not fully explained.
The ending with spike sitting outside the cell for Twilight is making me sob because imagine him hearing Twilight speaking and sounded so far gone into her own delusions. I’m also imagining that the guards would allow Spike to stay there because he’s so attached with Twilight as long as he promised to not break her out. 😢😢
I say they are still alive just now suffer the consequences of their actions and pushing twilight too far maybe that is why pinkie has a medical degree to try and undo her mistake and actions by possibly help twilight get better in sanity and situation

honestly that's fair, i think applejack and fluttershy are the only ones i'd actually want to be friends with. i love pinkie pie but she goes insane over the smallest slights to her (even ones she imagined like in party of one) so i feel like i'd just be scared of her lmao.

Cuz pinkie pie is too extroverted and i get exhausted from people like that and shes needy emotionally. Rarity is too snooty? Ok I'm gonna try and make a story with this- Like in the show, Celestia made Twilight go to Ponyville but Twilight is more distant then cannon. She becomes furious when Pinkie throws a party in her home and kicks everypony out. At some point, she allows the rest of the mane 6 to join her to get the elements of harmony and bring back Luna. But instead of becoming friends, they instead suspect Twilight of being a spy as how did she know Nightmare Moon and where the Elements are? After her sisters return, Celestia visited Twilight so many times that it caused her to lie to the Princess and make up these stories of how she learned friendship and all that, when in reality she's paranoid about the rest of Ponyville. Cause what if they thought she was a spy? What if they're just putting up a happy face just to please her and talk behind her back? Because of this she grows more and more crazy and sets the Village on fire. As each ponh gets killed or gets injuries from the fires. The mane 5 get cornered by their "ally". Twilight explains that she's sick and tired of being pushed around, pulled into things she never wanted to do and set the town ablaze. Spike tries to calm her down but instead he's given a paper and quill to send a letter to Celestia. Celestia apon getting the letter grows worried after seeing blood on the paper and makes Luna take care of Canterlot whilst herself and a few guards to Ponyville. But once she makes it there she sees Twilight over the bloodied bodies of her "friends" with only Pinkie alive. Pinkie quickly tells what Celestia what Twilight did, leaving the Princess stuned as she realises she failed another student. Twilight is put on trial and is found guilty but she gets thrown into a Asylum instead of prison. Pinkie becomes a therapist to help Twilight but as of right now Twilight has lost it completely. Spike is now left in the custody of Twilight Velvet and Night Light but secrely "visits" Twilight when he can..
Personally, I think when Twilight asked Spike the last letter, instead of writing what she says, he secretly tells Celestia exactly what is happening, and Celestia comes down there immediately.
Do you know what the worst part is? It's knowing that if this happened before she was an Alicorn, that means that there's still Discord and all the other villains ahead, so everything would fall apart and I mentioned discordia first because he would be the first to be freed, and without the elements of harmony (all main6) he would be the first governor, then only chaos from other villains would come and they would start to fight in order to try to rule Equestria and everything would end in nothing, as in the end shown in the cartoon itself when Starlight changed the past
So let me get this straight This is an AU where Twilight the moment it was decided she was sent to Ponyville, she hated it and started to get crazy with every shenanigan those ponies made her went through Somehow they used the element of harmony since Luna is no longer Nightmare Moon, since if she was already free the "They call me a spy" part wouldn't make sense Then she had enough and started killing ponies little by little until Pinkie tried to throw a party without her consent (as always) and that was the last straw for Twilight that started a massacre, she probably killed the rest of the Mane 6 and proceeded to be captured by Celestia, locking her away in a mental facility And Spike is keeping her company :(
I think one of multiple options, this twi is from a timeline with no nightmare moon or that issue was handled by celestia instead of twi and friends, a paranoid twi that was wrong at start, having the not consent party, the RD telling her is a spy, and the fact that she needs to make friendship reports of ponies that she don't like and are to weird for her is the stuff that made her go crazy
So another student fail after Sunset shimmer. One went into another dimension, another one just went crazy and burn the whole town down At least in this world Princess Luna is still there
So basically celestial after this incident might be more focused on her responsibility and not want to take on a start pupil or not wanting to get close again incase she makes another mistake that take so many ponies lives or she would keep an actual close eye on her students and not just let them do as they please without her keeping a close eye this time to make up for her mistakes

*Here's my take on the story behind this song.* This is a timeline where the whole Nightmare Moon thing never happened. From the fact that Luna has her ethereal mane, it's safe to assume that Luna never got jealous in the first place. As such, the letter that Celestia sent to Twilight that told her that she was being moved to Ponyville to go and make friends was even more out of nowhere than in the actual show. She was even more reluctant to make friends, as there really didn't seem to be a reason for her to move. She got increasingly mad at the ponies of Ponyville getting in her personal space. Her breaking point was during Pinkie Pie's surprise party in her own home. Rainbow Dash said they thought she was a "spy", and with Pinkie's party getting increasingly louder, she finally broke. She grabbed a knife that Pinkie had used to cut slices from one of the cakes she provided, and started swinging it wildly at everyone, threatening to stab them all unless they all left, which they did, panicking all the while. Afterwards, Pinkie began to get mad at Twilight. She was mad that she ruined her own party, shouting with tears in her eyes, _"You should've been a better friend!",_ to which Twilight shrieked back with pure venom leaking with every word, *_"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"_* In response, Pinkie Pie suggested to let them throw her a party, which was a huge mistake. Twilight's fragile psyche finally snapped in half after Pinkie made her suggestion. She brandished the knife she had used earlier and began a mass slaughter on all the ponies in Ponyville. She killed a few of the ponies and left the ones alive with severe injuries. She burnt down every building aside from Sugarcube Corner and Carousel Boutique. She even burnt down the Golden Oaks Library, considering it "not her home". In a panic, Spike, without Twilight's knowlege, sent a second letter to Celestia when Twilight asked to send a letter, detailing exactly what Twilight was doing and BEGGING her to step in and help, which she did. By the time Celestia had gotten to Twilight, Ponyville was almost unrecognizable. The royal guard surrounded Twilight, and the moment Celestia showed up, Twilight realized she had gone off the deep end, but it was far too late for her to fix her mistakes. However, Celestia couldn't bring herself to exceute her former pupil, much less one who was always so nice to her and everyone around her as a filly. She instead decided to simply place her into the Canterlot Secure Asylum, which Celestia could only hope Twilight wouldn't permanently stay in. When she was placed in the padded cell with her straightjacket, she removed the magic inhibitor ring. Instead of breaking out, she simply teleported an enchanted writing set that she could write forever with, writing rants about how making friends is worthless. She remained in the padded cell, considering the noisy outside world to be the real prison. Ever since, she's been in the same cell, writing things like her regrets for how things ended, her enjoyment of the peace and quiet, and most of all, her relief that "at least I won't have to make friends". And once every month, Spike heads to the wall where there's a window, always hearing Twilight laughing maniacally, adding a tally mark for each month it's been since she was put in there. He's scratched 18 tally marks so far, making it a year and a half since she was put into the Canterlot Secure Asylum. He desperately misses the pony he considers his mother, but the only thing he can do is wait and pray the doctors can make her stable again. But until then, Twilight remains in her cell, with only one question on her mind: _"Princess, are you proud of me?"_ *I hope you all enjoyed this! This took WAAAY too long to write, but it was worth it.*
If pinkie pie did become psychologist after twilight burned the whole town, I think it would kind of make sense? Maybe no other doctor would help twilight and the only person who would help was pinkie pie since she actively wanted to try to get twilight to interact with more ponies. I’d like to kinda think that the other main 6 are still alive, just injured while spike is being taken care by twilight’s parents or maybe princess Celestia maybe? That’s what I think anyways, I really enjoy it especially with the music, I love it- pftt!

I love how instead of “heheh here’s my twisted dark fucked up mad scientist experimenting on her friends version of twi😈just a glimpse into my dark mind hehe” the plot instead plays on her episode one aversion/isolation!! Love the hint of paranoia from RDs ep one accusations of her mixed in with home sickness and a slight bitterness to Celestia for sending her away!! That mixed with the contrasting idolization of her and the need for approval! Feels muchhh more fitting and in character for a darker twist on her than just her being a cliche mad scientist plot without any thought into her as a character or how she’s protrayed in canon yk? Love more playing into her anxiety!! The other more common take just to me feels like she’s being reduced to just “the smart science book one” anyway all of this is to say I adoreeee this interp and plotline we love episode one/general early season one twi characterization exploration in this house aaaa
it’s so crazy to see MLP stuff like this in this current year, makes me so nostalgic from when the fandom was at its peak. MCR and MLP need to go hand in hand more often because this is breathtaking ^^ haven’t seen anyone mention the closed captions but it was super cool to see them go along with the lyrics of the song and over the screen! not many people give non-auto CCs and whoever took the time for them absolutely paid off ^u^ stunning work, the art is gorgeous and I never knew i needed a ponified version of Mama from MCR but I am so glad we got it x3
This is what happens when you force an introvert, someone with exteme social anxiety and someone who has trouble communicating, into a crowd of people every single day. Because Celestia put that weight on her shoulders to be social, she forced herself to try and be friends with these people, to hang out with them every single day without fail to make her proud, and it broke her.
The lyrics of the song are quite impressive to me with the modern problem of friendship, what was not added to the Mlp that friends leave or lose interest in you, or this friendship was false and one-sided, which makes it difficult to continue friendship, and it's just harder to maintain it with age, but the truth is you just need to move on and try to look for new friends, maybe something will come out or maybe not, but the value of friendship is important as a spiritual and social element. At first, I thought that the rest of the Mane 6 were all in her head, but it seems that she murdered them. Actually, I could see it being that she actually never met them at all, but only thought she did (delusional) and went on a paranoid spree because the voices told her that they secretly hated her. No I don't think she killed them it was never actually said anywhere in the song that she murdered them hardly even implied I think maybe Celestia's intervention probably saved them and the rest if the town from any further Carnage and Calamity

Very nice video. Depression is a really nasty self-destructive thing, while lashing out might feel good and cathartic it will inevitable backfire on you, and friends turn your back on you, which you further fall into a pit of despair, which further reinforce itself into a vicious cycle which is very hard to get out of that kind of mind set.
Projecting a lil. Thats fine, I project a lil also. But I don't know if depression rises to it. Depression is like. Well lets say mental stability is like a cake, removing the top layer of frosting is like chronic depression, removing the first layer (of cake) is like major depression. During major depression, you prolly dont even have the metabolic energy to attack someone. You might order someone else to attack someone tho. Like a pessimistic nihilist might. But, if you slice the cake, poke holes in it, pour other shit on it, etc. There is not quite just 'depression'. Neurosis is like, the cake is overcooked, actually, its still in the oven and someone needs to put it in the fridge.
I love how the best way to celebrate it a day later is with a grimdark variation of the first few episodes that leads to absolute anarchy. Very tasteful I must say

Considering Twilight at the start of the series (curt, obsessive and no doubt grew up under pressure keeping up her studies while raising Spike) this is a dark yet fitting possibility of how thing's could've gone
As usual I absolutely enjoyed very second of this magnificent musical masterpiece, Everything from the score, Vocals and animation was all assembled ever so phenomenally! Everyone did such a brilliant and righteous job bringing this to life, Make no mistake about it! And if MLP FIM wasn't a kids show, I could've totally pictured this scenario happening in the actual series. Because given Twilight's history of mental breakdowns in the show, It would've only been a matter of until she finally snapped to where she's at the point of no return.
i hate how i can kinda relate to twi in this not about the murders but almost everything else imagine if you’re actively avoiding everyone else in your town and then suddenly you have to deal with some of them attempting to have a party in your house. that’s terrifying. i can also kinda relate to the snapping. snapping out of any overwhelming emotion is something i used to do alot as a kid, believe me it’s as terrifying for the person breaking down as it is for everyone else involved. the way celestia stares at twi when she arrives is heartbreaking to me, i know what being in that situation is like. the way she talks about celestia in the lyrics makes it sound like she’s really the only pony she trusts. having her just glare down at twi when she clearly isn’t in the right mental state already must be terrifying. i think i’m projecting too much, i’m sorry.

It’s truly fantastic work. As of 5 minutes ago, this is exactly how I was with my family on holiday before I broke and lashed out aggressively. This song alone describes me and I don't know weither to feel proud or ashamed. Thank you Prince, your songs always help me feel or see a different way.

I could imagine this timeline appearing in the season 5 finale. Twilight enters through the portal and notices that she's in Ponyville, but something is not right. The citizens there give her strange looks, Twilight cannot find her friends, until... Princess Celestia's guards catch her. Twilight is put in front of the princess to explain herself. This could go one of two ways: 1. Princess Celestia believes her and takes her to see this timeline's Twilight(and maybe therapist Pinkie). 2. Princess Celestia doesn't believe her, and Twilight is taken to a jail cell. Then, it could go two ways. If she sees this timeline's Twilight just staying in her cell, she probably will let Twilight go. But if she doesn't see her, the Twilight we know will probably stay in that cell for the rest of her life.

I just realized, in Twilight's argument with Pinkie here, Pinkie is clearly hurt by Twi, saying she "should have been a better friend." and trying to throw a party to entice her. Clearly Pinkie has developed some kind of connection with Twi, thinks of her as a friend, and cares enough to try and help. But Twilight calls Pinkie "The pink one." Implying she doesn't even remember Pinkie's name.
I suspect in this timeline, they all met and worked together to stop Nightmare Moon as before, but after that Twilight tried to be as reclusive as possible, and at best pretended for appearance's sake whenever the Princess showed, until she snapped, and it probably didn't take long if she doesn't even remember Pinkie's name.
At first I thought that she was delusional and actually never met them except in passing, because in the beginning, it said she was talking to ponies who weren't there, and the song mentions that in her letters, they are the best of friends, but "don't ask to meet them."And then she slipped into paranoid delusions and hallucinations about what they thought of her.
But considering that Princess Luna is there, it does make more sense that she teamed up with them, but the friendship didn't last. In the "don't ask to see them" part, it looks like there is blood on her. Maybe there was an argument, and then the paranoia and hallucinations began. Then Pinkie Pie brought everyone over to make amends, but Twilight was too far gone by this point.

interesting to note that twi clearly had some sort of magic inhibiter put on her horn when they caught her, but in the cell, it's gone and she's clearly able to use magic meaning it's entirely possible for her to escape if she wanted to given her ingenuity with magic. She's in that cell by choice just so she doesn't have to deal with anypony ever again.
The lyrics "Locked in this cell with a Book and a Spell" might imply the cell itself is enchanted to contain her as well
More likely it's Twi's own personal nightmare that she's not mentally stable enough to be around people she cares about.
Wasn’t there a crack on her horn in that last scene of the video? My first thought was that her horn was damaged in someway, maybe self inflicted in her madness. So idk maybe by the end, her magic /has/ been inhibited. It’s just via an injury rather than a direct inhibitor which now greatly limits her abilities to basic spells. Or maybe I’m just being a little silly lol

Ough I have so many thoughts.
Firstly, I think in this timeline, Twilight's encounter with Nightmare Moon went...okay. It worked, but the bond didn't build as quickly as it did in the canon pilot, for whatever reason. Maybe Twilight was a bit more neurotic and abrasive due to the looming threat, or maybe Nightmare Moon's threats just didn't build as big a bond. Maybe Twilight even got herself out of a situation or two, which is very feasible considering how hyperindependent she is in the pilot. But the elements, being tied to all the ponies there, worked well enough.
However, Celestia didn't see the disconnect - or simply dismissed it as harmless, after all, Twilight was always cordial. The relationship would build naturally.
But she underestimated how much the suddenness of everything effected Twilight - forced to leave her family, her mentor (and secondary mother figure), all her studies, for something she hasn't valued in YEARS. It causes her neuroses to flare higher and higher, especially when the "outcome" the princess wanted isn't occuring; she is STRUGGLING to bond with these ponies, understandably so with how reclusive she is and how new it all is! She fakes a lot of the letters, and the few that are real are exaggerated.
However, she is unable to let it go - she feels like a failure, failing her mentor (remember 'Lesson Zero'? She is NOT doing great) and the distance between her and these other ponies, who all seem to get along just fine, is growing. She can't help but play RD's comment in loop from the night of the party - a *spy.* Is that what they think of her? The best student of Celestia's class? A spy, a threat, a fake, a FRAUD? It eats away at her, and as she secludes herself more and more, it starts to become a self-fulfilling prophecy; ponies do indeed start to whisper, though it's more out of worry than an attempt of exclusion. But Twilight doesn't know that. She's too busy dealing with increasingly violent urges and resentment.
The only one trying to reach out is Pinkie Pie, which in another timeline, maybe have worked; but Pinkie is highly emotional and hyper, which isn't great for someone deep in emotional and mental turmoil. She ends up trying to throw Twi a party to help her socialize and get her out of her shell, but the sudden confrontation just makes her snap - too many high running emotions cause her to lash out, wielding a knife for "defense" against those that get too close, and using her powerful magic to light the town ablaze in broad daylight. In the midst, Spike writes Celestia a note, begging her to help the ponies of ponyville and his sister. The mane six survive (RD + AJ suspend her long enough for Celestia to arrive, spare some injuries), although there are plenty of casualties. However, once Celestia arrives, she becomes docile - a mix of coming to, horrified at what she's done, fear of Celestia's power, and shame.
Celestia can't bring herself to hurt her pupil, her faux-daughter, though - as she watches Twilight cower, she sees the same filly who was scared of being rejected from magic school. In any other case, the punishment would be far more severe - but in this case, she orders Twilight be taken to the maximum security part of Canterlot security asylum, grieving her subjects as the wagon wheels off, with Twilight sobbing and screaming inside.
And now, Twilight sits in the cell, venting her internalized frustrations, angry and ashamed and manic, perhaps in a state of genuine psychosis from the sounds of it. She misses Celestia, her family, and maybe even the possibility of her friendships. But it's too late for that.

Think the scariest thing about this, is all the neurotic behavior twilight exhibited in the series, this was never a far away possibility, she could at any time have snapped and decided that she hated making friends, she hated being around other ponies, and gone on a murderous rampage.

Ok I'm gonna try and make a story with this-
Like in the show, Celestia made Twilight go to Ponyville but Twilight is more distant then cannon. She becomes furious when Pinkie throws a party in her home and kicks everypony out.
At some point, she allows the rest of the mane 6 to join her to get the elements of harmony and bring back Luna. But instead of becoming friends, they instead suspect Twilight of being a spy as how did she know Nightmare Moon and where the Elements are?
After her sisters return, Celestia visited Twilight so many times that it caused her to lie to the Princess and make up these stories of how she learned friendship and all that, when in reality she's paranoid about the rest of Ponyville. Cause what if they thought she was a spy? What if they're just putting up a happy face just to please her and talk behind her back? Because of this she grows more and more crazy and sets the Village on fire.
As each ponh gets killed or gets injuries from the fires. The mane 5 get cornered by their "ally". Twilight explains that she's sick and tired of being pushed around, pulled into things she never wanted to do and set the town ablaze. Spike tries to calm her down but instead he's given a paper and quill to send a letter to Celestia.
Celestia apon getting the letter grows worried after seeing blood on the paper and makes Luna take care of Canterlot whilst herself and a few guards to Ponyville. But once she makes it there she sees Twilight over the bloodied bodies of her "friends" with only Pinkie alive. Pinkie quickly tells what Celestia what Twilight did, leaving the Princess stuned as she realises she failed another student.
Twilight is put on trial and is found guilty but she gets thrown into a Asylum instead of prison. Pinkie becomes a therapist to help Twilight but as of right now
Twilight has lost it completely.
Spike is now left in the custody of Twilight Velvet and Night Light but secrely "visits" Twilight when he can..

Then she had enough and started killing ponies little by little until Pinkie tried to throw a party without her consent (as always) and that was the last straw for Twilight that started a massacre, she probably killed the rest of the Mane 6 and proceeded to be captured by Celestia, locking her away in a mental facility

*Here's my take on the story behind this song.*
This is a timeline where the whole Nightmare Moon thing never happened. From the fact that Luna has her ethereal mane, it's safe to assume that Luna never got jealous in the first place.
As such, the letter that Celestia sent to Twilight that told her that she was being moved to Ponyville to go and make friends was even more out of nowhere than in the actual show.
She was even more reluctant to make friends, as there really didn't seem to be a reason for her to move. She got increasingly mad at the ponies of Ponyville getting in her personal space.
Her breaking point was during Pinkie Pie's surprise party in her own home. Rainbow Dash said they thought she was a "spy", and with Pinkie's party getting increasingly louder, she finally broke. She grabbed a knife that Pinkie had used to cut slices from one of the cakes she provided, and started swinging it wildly at everyone, threatening to stab them all unless they all left, which they did, panicking all the while.
Afterwards, Pinkie began to get mad at Twilight. She was mad that she ruined her own party, shouting with tears in her eyes, _"You should've been a better friend!",_ to which Twilight shrieked back with pure venom leaking with every word, *_"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"_* In response, Pinkie Pie suggested to let them throw her a party, which was a huge mistake.
Twilight's fragile psyche finally snapped in half after Pinkie made her suggestion. She brandished the knife she had used earlier and began a mass slaughter on all the ponies in Ponyville. She killed a few of the ponies and left the ones alive with severe injuries. She burnt down every building aside from Sugarcube Corner and Carousel Boutique. She even burnt down the Golden Oaks Library, considering it "not her home".
In a panic, Spike, without Twilight's knowlege, sent a second letter to Celestia when Twilight asked to send a letter, detailing exactly what Twilight was doing and BEGGING her to step in and help, which she did.
By the time Celestia had gotten to Twilight, Ponyville was almost unrecognizable. The royal guard surrounded Twilight, and the moment Celestia showed up, Twilight realized she had gone off the deep end, but it was far too late for her to fix her mistakes. However, Celestia couldn't bring herself to exceute her former pupil, much less one who was always so nice to her and everyone around her as a filly. She instead decided to simply place her into the Canterlot Secure Asylum, which Celestia could only hope Twilight wouldn't permanently stay in.
When she was placed in the padded cell with her straightjacket, she removed the magic inhibitor ring. Instead of breaking out, she simply teleported an enchanted writing set that she could write forever with, writing rants about how making friends is worthless. She remained in the padded cell, considering the noisy outside world to be the real prison.
Ever since, she's been in the same cell, writing things like her regrets for how things ended, her enjoyment of the peace and quiet, and most of all, her relief that "at least I won't have to make friends".
And once every month, Spike heads to the wall where there's a window, always hearing Twilight laughing maniacally, adding a tally mark for each month it's been since she was put in there. He's scratched 18 tally marks so far, making it a year and a half since she was put into the Canterlot Secure Asylum. He desperately misses the pony he considers his mother, but the only thing he can do is wait and pray the doctors can make her stable again.
But until then, Twilight remains in her cell, with only one question on her mind:
_"Princess, are you proud of me?"_

Maybe no other doctor would help twilight and the only person who would help was pinkie pie since she actively wanted to try to get twilight to interact with more ponies. I’d like to kinda think that the other main 6 are still alive, just injured while spike is being taken care by twilight’s parents or maybe princess Celestia maybe? I love how instead of “heheh here’s my twisted dark fucked up mad scientist experimenting on her friends version of twi😈just a glimpse into my dark mind hehe” the plot instead plays on her episode one aversion/isolation!! Love the hint of paranoia from RDs ep one accusations of her mixed in with home sickness and a slight bitterness to Celestia for sending her away!! That mixed with the contrasting idolization of her and the need for approval! The lyrics of the song are quite impressive to me with the modern problem of friendship, what was not added to the Mlp that friends leave or lose interest in you, or this friendship was false and one-sided, which makes it difficult to continue friendship, and it's just harder to maintain it with age, but the truth is you just need to move on and try to look for new friends, maybe something will come out or maybe not, but the value of friendship is important as a spiritual and social element. At first, I thought that the rest of the Mane 6 were all in her head, but it seems that she murdered them. Actually, I could see it being that she actually never met them at all, but only thought she did (delusional) and went on a paranoid spree because the voices told her that they secretly hated her.

No I don't think she killed them it was never actually said anywhere in the song that she murdered them hardly even implied I think maybe Celestia's intervention probably saved them and the rest if the town from any further Carnage and Calamity

Depression is a really nasty self-destructive thing, while lashing out might feel good and cathartic it will inevitable backfire on you, and friends turn your back on you, which you further fall into a pit of despair, which further reinforce itself into a vicious cycle which is very hard to get out of that kind of mind set.

Well lets say mental stability is like a cake, removing the top layer of frosting is like chronic depression, removing the first layer (of cake) is like major depression. During major depression, you prolly dont even have the metabolic energy to attack someone. You might order someone else to attack someone tho. Like a pessimistic nihilist might. But, if you slice the cake, poke holes in it, pour other shit on it, etc. There is not quite just 'depression'. Neurosis is like, the cake is overcooked, actually, its still in the oven and someone needs to put it in the fridge.

Considering Twilight at the start of the series (curt, obsessive and no doubt grew up under pressure keeping up her studies while raising Spike) this is a dark yet fitting possibility of how thing's could've gone
As usual I absolutely enjoyed very second of this magnificent musical masterpiece, Everything from the score, Vocals and animation was all assembled ever so phenomenally! Everyone did such a brilliant and righteous job bringing this to life, Make no mistake about it!
And if MLP FIM wasn't a kids show, I could've totally pictured this scenario happening in the actual series. Because given Twilight's history of mental breakdowns in the show, It would've only been a matter of until she finally snapped to where she's at the point of no return.
I just realised in this universe, princess celestia would have to solve all her problems ANOTHER WAY, i wish we could see how that turned out

i can also kinda relate to the snapping. snapping out of any overwhelming emotion is something i used to do alot as a kid, believe me it’s as terrifying for the person breaking down as it is for everyone else involved. the way celestia stares at twi when she arrives is heartbreaking to me, i know what being in that situation is like. the way she talks about celestia in the lyrics makes it sound like she’s really the only pony she trusts. having her just glare down at twi when she clearly isn’t in the right mental state already must be terrifying.

I could imagine this timeline appearing in the season 5 finale. Twilight enters through the portal and notices that she's in Ponyville, but something is not right. The citizens there give her strange looks, Twilight cannot find her friends, until... Princess Celestia's guards catch her. Twilight is put in front of the princess to explain herself. This could go one of two ways:
1. Princess Celestia believes her and takes her to see this timeline's Twilight(and maybe therapist Pinkie).
2. Princess Celestia doesn't believe her, and Twilight is taken to a jail cell. Then, it could go two ways. If she sees this timeline's Twilight just staying in her cell, she probably will let Twilight go. But if she doesn't see her, the Twilight we know will probably stay in that cell for the rest of her life.
