When Bronson first came in he was very regimental and really the last bastion of a teacher from a bygone era. When he left he was timid and you could see he had softened. Great skill by the late great Michael Sheard.
End of an era. I think I watched one more year of Grange Hill after this one, as I left school in 1990. I remember the Danny Kendall / Mr Bronson story, but I don't remember Mr Bronson's redemption too well. Michael Sheard was such a great actor, lovely guy, and really left his mark on this program with probably its most famous character.
Mr bronson may have been a villain but as this scene proves he did have a good side.all great charecters have different sides to them. The late Michael Sheard was a brilliant actor and apparently in real life a very nice man. believe it or not in spite of his posh English accent he was a native of abberdeanshire scotland . Very sadly he passed away in 2005.rest in peace michael star of Dr who Indiana Jones star wars grange hill and many many others you will be missed good night god bless you sir . From Michael spilman from Yorkshire and proud of it.
Michael Sheard, a legend, and probably the best known of the actors who played teachers in Grange Hill for his long career outside of the show. Also he was brilliant as Herr Grunwald in Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
Mr Bronson changed his personality with the loss of his toupee. With the toupee there was a blustering facade of fierceness and imperviousness. When the toupee was removed so the genuine gentleman caring Mr Bronson came out.
Memorable sign off from 2 iconic characters and yes did get the team and colour right lol ironically Arsenal beat Liverpool that season for the title. Mr Bronson was an awesome character and legendary actor

In the making of Grange Hill from these years you see Michael in make up getting into the character as soon as the toupee goes on. Inspiring!
I hope they eventually release these mid to late 80's series on DVD as this was my era of Grange Hill.

not him
@@bp6329 wasn't him what? He was Herr Grunwald in Auf Wiedersehn Pet. He was also brilliant in Empire Strikes Back.
And as Hitler in the last crusade
@@Some-kid-called-David And was rather brilliant as Section Leader Klegg in the 'Blake's 7' episode 'Powerplay' over on Britbox UK.
"First served, first come. Put your things in your hut."
I felt in the end he proved he had a sense of humour and had feelings it was a great scene with emotions there
What a great time it was back then with Ziggy, Bronson, McCluskey, Gonch, Imelda etc.
R.i.p. Mr Bronson 1938 - 2005 ❤
aww good ol Ziggy i loved this character from his first day to the end..bit of a lovable rogue.
Loved ziggy
Imagine if they had just left Grange Hill right here...it would be recalled as a classic (which it was between 1978 and 1989)

I 💖 Ziggy Greaves My Fav Grange Hill Character 😘🥰😍👏👏👏👏

Grange Hill should have the final conclusion when mr Bronson and Ziggy left
When somebody usually left Grange Hill you wouldn't find out until the start of the next series.
Sad when Roland left and then later when Gonch left.
Gonch lsft this season aswell
Why didn't he scream KENDALL !!!! at the end of the speech.
"My only regret is I can't take this gift home with me" Liar. Bet he nailed her in the car park
On the back seat of his car ;)

Ziggy the legend
Ah dey do now don't dey?
Is that a 16 year old Linda Robson introducing Ziggy!!
I thought it was Callie Donnington
@@richardphillips1971 Ronnie Birtles(Tina Mahon)
No, I'd imagine Linda Robson was in her early 30's when this was aired.
