Oh my goodness, this video was amazing 🎉 thank you for sharing. I love all your channels and all your videos. It would never be boring if I were there. I’m inside hiding from wildfire smoke. I’m in Northern British Columbia Canada and our whole region is fighting wildfires. You’ve helped me escape 😊
Very nice video. Great chemistry between Satoshi & Shinishi. Some crazy food selections (giant onigiri) and others very tempting. I am a big fan of Karaage Yukari to get snacks (especially kawasen) to eat while watching Grand Sumo in my hotel room but will have to try Asakusa Chikin when I visit in January. I think it would be fun hanging out with you two. Will have to investigate your other video offerings.
Thanks so much for sharing! We're planning our trip to Japan for next October and our hotel will be in Asakusa. I can't wait to try ALL the street foods 😋
Such a great video, guys. I really like the combo of your favorite sights, spots, and street foods! I laughed out loud when Satoshi said that Kurganeya on Hoppy Street felt like a cafe in France and you responded, Shinichi, "I guess so. It has a slightly different atmosphere, maybe more festive and...filled with drunk people." Hahaha! I love you two. 💖💖
Finally! I was looking forward to new content, outside of shorts and Hawaii🌺🌈 Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE every episode… but I miss seeing my home 🇯🇵👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I stayed my entire time visiting Tokyo in Asakusa at the hotel Tavinos. Such a wonderful spot although a little inconvenient when I wanted to go out to Shinjuku or shibuya, but still totally worth it. Has just a great charm to it. Walking around the temple at night was so beautiful. Also there are two onsens, one hidden off in the alleys, def a more expensive one but it has many different baths and a wonderful restaurant inside. And there is a more local one nearby. Such a great location
@@Monjo1579 yeah that was the one downside I will say about this location. It's so far from everything 😭 and like I felt like I had to add extra time just for travel or to head back ya know. I wanna say .. 🤔🤔🤔 roughly about 30 mins or so
Natsukashi ne!! I can still taste Kimura Ningyo Yaki. Thank you for putting this together and showing us the different places to eat. Thank you for pointing out the restrooms. And most of all, thank you for sharing the hot rickshaw drivers! 😍 You guys! That giant onigiri is no joke! I love love takana and okaka. My favorites in onigiri! Asakusa is definitely at the top of my places to revisit next year!! Thank youuuuu!
A wonderful tour. Si many levels of entertainment, older places, newer, food, shops and more. That onigiri was huge! It would definitely feed many people or provide many meals for a person or two.
I love asakusa! We stayed at the hotel by that amusement park. I love that old style of that area. There was a brush (tawashi) store and a luggage store and used kimono store that we bought items from 😊
New sub but have watched MANY videos. I love the detail you provide when describing food tastes/textures and tips for travelers. Keep up the great content! 😀
Hey, thank you so much for making this video! My wife and I are going to Japan next week and I'm dying to see the temple, and we were wondering what else to do in Asakusa. You have a new subscriber!
What a fun day out! Love how you suggest folks visit back road, small places. I grew up with an amusement park a few towns over. Wonderful childhood memories. Thanks for putting names of things on the screen. I cannot always decern the words. Love to see a map also. PS - I love sweet bean paste. For years could not find it but now have a new market in area with bean paste buns in freezer section. Someday hope to make it myself. Think you did a vid on cooking it. Might look for that. Hello from sunny and warm Oregon.
Great video, and I enjoyed the GIANT ONIGIRI! 🍙 I think, given that I'll stay there till night to see Asakusa illumimated, I'll get to finish the whole riceball!
I love this video and your recommendations! I enjoyed my time there with all the good food when I was there 6 yrs ago. Can’t wait to go back! Do we have to tip the rickshaw guy or is that not accepted too?
Oh gosh this was a fantastic video and I really really enjoyed watching it and so much beauty around everywhere you shared this content with us. So wonderful seeing both you Shinichi and Satoshi, have a blessed and beautiful rest of your day, sending love and hugs, Arigato!! 😂😉🤗💜💜
Recently subscribed to your channel. Awesome content and hopefully you can answer some of my questions: 1. My family of 7 will be arriving in Japan Haneda Airport on December 22, 2023 and we are planning to stay in Japan until December 29, 2023, unless you have other recommendations in places to stay. 2. What would you recommend things to do during this time. Are the shops, cafe and other things open? 3. We are planning on staying in No.366 APA Hotel Asakusa Shin Okachimachi Ekimae, and would like to know if this place is a good place to stay centrally to visit Shinjuku, Shibuya, Sumida, Sensoji Temple and other point of interest. Is this a good place to stay? Any other suggestions you would have would be surely appreciated.
Thanks for subscribing! Asakusa is a great place to stay although it is further away from places like Shinjuku and Shibuya. All shops will be open during your stay. We don’t celebrate the Christmas holidays here so it’s a normal working day here, but you’ll be able to enjoy the holiday illuminations throughout the city.
I really enjoyed this video. People are surprised when Mika Moo and I say we could spend weeks(more if we had the time) in Tokyo, there’s just so much to walk to and see. We love the trains too. When we travel it’s not to just tick off the tourist spots, it’s to just be, taking a moment and time to imagine what it’s like to be a local. I didn’t like supermarket melon pan but when I had the Melon Pan from Asakusa Kagetsudo I finally understood why they’re so popular. Nearby is Suzukien Asakusa, it’s matcha icecream is awesome, I had the strongest matcha with black sesame - oh I miss it.
Two of the best things I've experienced in Asakusa; Asahi building top floor lounge bar. Also the opportunity to wear authentic samurai armor. I don't remember the name for the place but try googling authentic experience in Asakusa and samurai.. 🤔
Does that Sensoji Temple Shrine have steep steps? If they are not too high, maybe I can climb them. I have a bad knee. :(. Other than that, this looks like a very nice place to visit.
I have fond memories of drinking Hoppy in a tiny Izakaya in Asakusa... The ratio of Shochu to Hoppy increased with each round ordered, until I was ready to sing some Karaoke (for like 150-200 yen or so per go) and tortured the ears of whoever had the misfortune of being near. Guess I will be getting weird looks too when I come back and order Soto-only Hoppy because I can't drink alcohol any more.
loved Asakusawhen I went there for the first time almost 12 years ago but nowadays my recommendation would be to run away asap when you accidentaly get anywhere near sensoji .... way overcrowded sadly
I thought I would never take a rickshaw because I felt it was exploitation of people who could not make a living any other way. But the drivers you showed seemed to enjoy what they were doing - I guess it is a great way to stay fit. I just hope they can make a living that way. For their sake, I think it is appropriate, as was the original tradition to have only one passenger. I would not like to see a pair (or more?) of large tourists wanting a ride.

I really enjoyed this video! I would like to see more of these neighborhood-style videos.
Adding to my list to see… can’t wait!!!
Very interesting. Enjoyed thoroughly.
We just recently returned from Japan and spent 3 days staying in Asakusa. It was a great place to hang out.
At 2:35 when someone tries to use the stairs, sees them blocking them for filming, and promptly nopes back up lol 😂
I wish I was there.i love your travel videos and you guys a great love you both ❤❤

I love rickshaw rides have done it twice in Asakusa but seems so expensive now at least for one person.

Both is correct
