There is just something about Chris uploading a new video that gives me a huge amount of joy. It's like catching up again with a very old friend, and I have never even met him. I appreciate him so much for his years of top quality content, and the ability to grow up alongside one of the best RUclipsrs the site has and will ever know is something that I cherish.

The architect intended the structure to be a golden flame representing the spirit of the Asahi Brewery workers. If you take a Sumida River boat tour, it will take you right by both buildings as well as give a great view of the Tokyo Skytree.

I love the subtle filming techniques that Chris keeps using. blurring shots for a fraction before panning into them, panning in different directions every shot, and getting shots that have multiple focal points in them. Idk im not a filmmaker but I can tell this channel keeps improving on its (already solid) techniques. Keep it up Chris!
@@BillieFingers it's almost disrespectful that he names all the cinematography tricks being used and then credits them to Chris even though this is one of the few videos where we actually get to see and meet the cinematographer. Chris even calls her the "Top Cinematographer" in the video so he's outright admitting that the things being praised here are ALL Alex Lee. We get to see Chris manning the camera inside the onsen and we can clearly see that his skills are noticeably lacking compared to hers.
I just want to say that I really love it when people acknowledge the person behind the camera! It's not only humbling, but oftentimes the camera person is interesting too. :]
Gotta say, this channel always delivers on the "vibe" of the places visited. It doesn't just feel like you watch a sweeping camera shot of an obvious tourist spot, while someone monotonously lists why it's so great. It feels alive and real, creates a real longing for just visiting and both Chris and Ryotaro feel so down-to-earth, too. There's neither too much, nor too little focus on the humor or the places; it's just a well-balanced, enjoyable video.

These videos not only make me want to go to Japan they make me want to go to hiden treasures across the country and do something more authentic than just the regular tourist stuff. When my daughter turned 5 she asked me if we could go to Japan for her 6th birthday, not thinking she was serious I casually said 'sure, why not'. Honestly I thought she'd forget about it all - but did she? Heck no! Anyway, her birthday is in January 2023 and we are booked to go to Japan for nearly a month. We're even staying a few nights in the same Ryokan as in this video and we have managed to find the same dessert place - my daughter, Charlotte, is desperate to eat the shaved ice and the blue Hawaiian drink you guys have. So, you've cost me $8K in flights but it's with a smile on my face I'm saying that. When we were in Japan 3 years ago, we ended our stay in this exact ryokan. It was beautiful and surprisingly affordable, even during the Sanja Mitsuri. And the street food going on during the mitsuri was just crazy and everywhere and so so so good. Highly recommend.
We rocked up here during New Year's...it was dreadful. The area was beautiful but the crowds were the worst I had ever seen in Japan (denser than Comiket!). Worth doing, but be aware that walking around is tricky.
I went in February, -45c in Winnipeg, +15c in Tokyo, we went at night, light rain, maybe twelve people total, but bars, food, and all the essentials were open. Amazing photos and fun to explore when everything is lit up by LED and wet. Right during setsubun, got to watch the locals walk around booming drums and get soybeans thrown at them, and tons of hand painted lanterns and stuff. My favorite bar in the city is in that quarter too.
I love how the traditional Japanese breakfast looked healthy and fresh and fancy and here I am in America eating a stack of sugar, flour, and butter covered in strawberries and syrup. I'd love to have traditional Japanese breakfast everyday but I don't think I could ever give up dessert for breakfast! Once again awesome video!

Honestly after several years I don't even watch Chris' videos for the content itself anymore. The quality of the production is so good (music, image quality, scenery, ...) that I could watch it for days without even paying attention to the video topic.
