- Under The Waves puts you in the shoes of Stan, an underwater operative working for the UniTrench mining facility. The story takes you through his journey of overcoming grief while also serving as a means to spread awareness about preserving underwater wildlife.
It’s a well-written game with strong performances and carefully directed cutscenes, but the story can stretch itself too thin by trying to cover so many topics and not doing justice to it all. While the gameplay doesn’t break any new ground in terms of mechanics, it works well for the rather short duration of the campaign - clocking in at just over 6 hours.

At first I was sceptical but after some great reviews bought it. Just playing it for couple of hours but this game is really beautiful and enjoyable. I hope they will make a sequel after this little success and expand the game in all fronts. A bigger open under water world with cool quests and a good main quest story will make it a absolute success. So far loving it.

Exactly. This poor little game is getting ignored hard. No review from IGN, Gamespot etc. It’s like it doesn’t even exist.

Personally I have absolutely LOVED this game. The zen gameplay, the soundtrack, and the overall tone is just my type of shit. Incredibly happy with this release
The bugs have been removed and now the game plays great. this story is so sad but im so into it
Not really ive had the game crash at least 20 times and the sound completely buggs out to the point of me having to remove game volume sometimes

I'm loving this game. I'm 7/8 hours in and am not even halfway. You can explore to your heart's content. The environment is fantastic, the story is gripping and the voice acting is great. The story driven style isn't Subnautica, it's a different kind of game, but that doesn't make it a bad game. I think Parallel Studios have made a great game that's badly suffered from lack of marketing.

This is a good game. It's chill. I like to play it after getting slaughtered in Escape from Tarkov. It has a good vibe.

I bet this game would be awesome for someone who is stuck in the grief of missing someone close that passed. Just to go be able to clear your mind a lil, and I think that’s awesome

This so reminds me of Subnautica. 6:46... the amazing score playing combined with just walking underwater with the blue whale ahead reminded me of Blade Runner for some reason,.

To anyone reading this, this game story line is fantastic however after playing this game for a while now, idk if this is just me, but many bugs or flaws are present such as losing an upgrade when you craft an item and CANNOT get it back. Revisiting some sites after conpleting missions is good for collectible hunting but i found out that you can get stuck on some parts making restarting a new game an only option. I know i sound complaining but as much as i love this game and what its worth, there are small errors a player can make that can be costly. Other than that, im still okay with the game just frustrated at a few errors.
Good info. Flawed games do not deserve $$. We need to demand better than that.
what a stupid game run out of oxygen 5 minutes into the first mission and it auto saves the game on your death screen so you have to start the entire game all over again which is almost two hours of tedious labor WASTE OF MONEY
Just got into it but it but so far it really is a great game and also at the same time oddly very peaceful to play. It's like if low fi music was a video game😊

The frame rate is terrible.. I see people playing it on ps5 on here, and their frame rates look great.. Mine is at 30fps or lower with a lot of stuttering. My tv supports Freesync Premium and 120hz.. why does it run so bad??

For me as well, it's pretty bad when you're close to the ground. What I don't get, nobody is talking about the framerate as if it is not a problem. It's definitely not my Ps5, other games are perfect. No clue why that is. It's like there getting paid to not mention the framerate. It crashes every now and then too.
@@thelawyer95 I don’t know if you are interested, but I saw it playing on the Xbox series x and it runs alot smoother..Is it perfect? Not at all..However, it is MUCH more stable and enjoyable on that console (just in case you have a series x as well).

@@thelawyer95 yeah I agree with you on the possibility of them paying off people to keep from speaking about it, because it doesn’t make much sense.. I bought the physical version for PS5 to add to my physical collection, so I tried installing it without updating it to the latest patch.. It’s very odd, because it’s also closed to 60fps without the patch installed, however, it is still unplayable because it stutteres very bad even though it looks like it is closer to 60fps.. very weird.. I really want to play it, but I keep holding out for the possibility of another update to fix it.. I just feel that it’s already forgotten about..

I found absolutely nothing so far.
It supports non of that. It also has terrible framerate issues on PS5. Get it for PC. It is also much cheaper.
Wish the ps4 pro version had HD 4k support...

I love subnauticas and Outer Wilds to the depths of my heart. So I waited excitedly for this game - and gods, I am disappointed. Boring and poor environment without a sense of scary deeps, boring tasks, slugish controls. Iron Lung did a better job of being an underwater game. But I'm glad to see comments from people who like and enjoy this game -- it's not for me, but could be for you.

For me, it really is a beautiful game...but man....the framerate kills all the experience. I haven´t encountered a game on PS5 with such a terrible framerates and fps inconsistencies. Bad, bad. I love the game, but int he same time this issue is keeping me back from playing it futher. It´s PS5 FFS! The graphics are nicely done, but not even next-gen level to be so demanding for such a machine. It´s unacceptable. For what this is, the game is not the cheapest one. They should patch it fast for PS5.
Only thing I not keen is swimming and driving seems bulky and awkward compare to subnautica
Ah, I saw it as compensating for privatized social service infrastructure (like schools) by providing a truth serum to those waylaid by materialism, but what do I know.

Under the waves is one of most amazed games of 2023, Subnautica is interesting submarine and diving under the ocean game but now im more interested of this Under the waves what looks really beautiful game. This game will be one of my reason to finally buy a Ps5. By the way in real life It would be really nice to diving with submarine in places like Mariana Trench under the sea. 🌎🌊🚡🐋🐬🐠🐡🦈🦀🦑🪸🪼
