I initially approached Under the Waves with the intention of conquering a fear I've harbored since childhood. Instead, I found myself confronting parts of myself that I hid not only from others but also from myself. It was one of the most discomforting experiences I've ever had playing a game, but it's an experience I know will stay with me for years to come.

We need more underwater games and I'd like to see remakes of Treasures of the Deep and Sub Rebellion (Underwater Unit).

Underrated game which deserve appreciation
Your channel is similar to how Central is presented, well just in introdution (Central is a opinion channel in the gaming world in Brasil), but it lacks an extra person and you are not as aggressive in your criticisms as the duo from the Central RUclips channel (Lion and White from Central Channel), they are really funny. 😊😊

I have a very similar nightmare and experiences in underwater sections of games. Playing Ark survival evolved and using water dinos was more terrifying than any horror game ive ever played.
This review has reminded me that I have so many games that I have not played and are littered in my bookshelf. I will follow Stan's example and not buy this game and appreciate what I have.

I love games set under the sea, i find it such an interesting and beautiful environment, but i also suffer from anxiety and ptsd so i feel this could hit too close to home. I still want to play it, but im gonna wait to pick it up till I feel like im in the right mood
This game looks like it’ll give anxiety in a similar way that Alan Wake did in the shadow universe.
But how is this made by the same people who made heavy rain / become human? its not even the same kinda thing that id expect from them its soo random. not saying it bad or anything its just soo random for them to go from the tell tail style of narrative choise your own adventure style game to what is basicly a walking simulator.

Killer review.
I'm 2 hours in and it has crashed, twice I have a very respectable custom rig (5600x, B550, 16gb @ 3200mhz, RTX 3080, ASUS 32" monitor), it's clunky in movement and navigation, the character lip sync is really bad, the menu is not good (the top is unreadable). The aesthetics/graphics/writing are VERY good and fit for the mood they were trying to create. All said, not worth $30, I got it on sale for less than $15 which should be the normal price at this point. I'm really wanting to like it since I was a casual scuba diver for 15 yrs and wanted that feel again. It has a lot of potential if they fix it ... I give it a 2 star meh.
This is a really good game. But we need a Horror game like this, NOT set on an alien planet (Subnautica). I buy almost every underwater game. This is one of the best.
