July 9, 2022. During Flight 2930 from Las Vegas to Charlotte, the crew of an American Airlines Airbus A321 receive a report from cabin crew that fumes are entering the cabin, and some on board are becoming ill. The flight crew declares an emergency and diverts to Phoenix. As the aircraft approaches Phoenix, approach controllers juggle incoming traffic to get the emergency aircraft down to meet aviation fire and rescue personnel. Watch and listen as the pilots, air traffic control and emergency equipment coordinate to get the aircraft back on the ground and sick passengers triaged quickly and safely.

Phoenix approach controller was bloody amazing. Super professional 👌🏻
Fire command however sound alike a robot 🤷🏻♀️
The controller was awesome.
Totally. Top of his game.
He did an incredible job. Super professional, keeping everyone in the loop and speaking clearly and accurately.
What a great approach controller. He did a really good job. And sounds like a nice guy to hang around.
I could listen to this controller all day.
When superstar Sam Elliott is moonlighting as Fire Command...... Gotta love it!
I was hoping that I wasn't the only one to hear Sam. I love that guy. He can obviously play ANY role! 😆
Top quality vid. And thanks for the info about the other aircraft at the end - I was wondering what happened to them!
Always happy to share the good news story of no diversions!
Agree. The update on the other aircraft was a bonus!
Retired AA. So proud of the professionalism all around! Excellent to hear actor Sam Elliott performing so well at his other career!
PHX APP, if you see this....wow. You have the clearest delivery I've heard among many, many ATC recordings. I don't want you to have problems, but I could listen to you handle them all day. May you have a long career ahead of you.
Excellent video. That ATC had his hands full but managed everyone professionally and competently.
Fire Command cracks me up 🤣
Everyone has great radio voices and great professionalism. I wonder where it came from.
Thank you very much for the final update on the SWA planes that had to hold/waiting to land. :)
I knew viewers would be curious if I omitted it - I was curious when making the video!
Just wanted to add my voice to all the comments about the AMAZING PRODUCTION QUALITY of your videos! I was curious about the Southwest flights and so great you answered that question at the end also! Amazing job and thank you for all the hard work!!!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Great video! The controllers and pilots were professional all around. Quick question for anyone that might know - why would the aircraft spend time going to the gate if there were fumes in the cabin making the flight attendants sick instead of parking on a taxiway or low-traffic area to open the doors for fresh air and further inspection?
Probably faster to get paramedics at the gate than to wait for stairs. And they may not be able to taxi with a door open without the onboard safety systems going crazy. Just a guess on their decision making
I was hoping they would take the closest available gate but I guess not.
I am amazed by the quality of your videos. At this point I have stopped watching all other ATC channels and only watch yours and always am excited to watch after I see you have posted. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks so much for the kind words Brandon. 😊 Really pleased you like the videos that much!
Great ATC & pilots communication!! Crazy busy airspace they got!
I love your graphics.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
Discovered your channel recently. I really appreciate the time you put into the visuals and animation and, probably above all - the music is really right on point. Am a musician myself and you can't imagine the amount of time great visuals are spoiled by the author using the wrong / inappropriate music. So thanks again and keep it that way please :)
Another outstanding presentation ATV!! Thank you!! Kudos to all ATC and pilots of Southwest and American for the teamwork involved!! Hope everyone was okay afterward. 👍✈✈👍
This ATC spoke really good. Not like others I heard that speak way to fast for no reason.
Now here's a switch, usually it's the flight attendants GIVING the headaches😂
Outstanding video - way better than anything else available bar none - well done - great job
The bleed air issue is pretty interesting. There have been some interesting stories of this stuff happening with even a pilot possibly dying from it. There also seem to be some specific aircraft that have the issue repeatedly too. There have been air quality tests on some of these repeat offenders with clear levels of organic volatiles and carbon monoxide. I think electrical pressurization systems like the 787 are going to be the way forward to eliminate this issue.
I've flow into PHX its a nice place
BOSS LEVEL ATC!!!
I would love this controller to voice my GPS. It would make U-turns much less stressful, and my commute would feel way cooler.
Jeez, how do you animate this video? I'd love to see a behind-the-scenes on how you make your videos! Looks like a lot of effort!
The animation runs in custom software that I wrote. A behind the scenes is possible if enough people are interested!
Look at that bee swarm of planes. Dear lord.
Hello, what kind of flight radar site do you use to illustrate the videos?
Fire Command copies.
Cowboy firefighter
Hey... FO... you need to speak... slowly... for... fire command...
Drop the oxygen masks?
