It's great to see that you were an early (most likely the first) explorer. No graffiti inside or outside of the building. Not damaged - other than that one small window pane on the door.
This was so surreal as someone who used to work at cracker barrel. The building felt familiar but off. I didn't work at that one. However, most of them are built to resemble each other.
First ever find Exploring an abandoned Cracker barrel was nothing going on inside dark inside kinda neat actually love to doing that some places near by.
I used to work there as a prep cook 2 years ago, when i found out it closed, i was bit disappointed because i was close to a lot of people who worked there
Great video Wallie! It's cool to see what it looks like all cleaned out and empty the cb location near me is always packed even after the shooting incident there years back
Wonder what a Spirit Halloween inside an old Cracker Barrel would be like? Have the evil clown with the tooting bicycle horn pop out from inside the fireplace! Or the spooky hairy spider!
That's a nice find, and it's always awesome when you get to go inside. Don't think I've ever seen the kitchen area inside of a cracker barrel before myself so that was really cool even though it was cleared out. Still wild to see on all dark like that though with everything missing. Awesome video.🤘
It’s a shame to see restaurants and other businesses go out of business! Love it when the building gets a new lease on life, even if it is an indoor flea market, at least it is getting used!
Looks identical to their (still open) location near Katy, TX. Every Cracker Barrel seems to have the fireplace in the same spot, as well as the kitchen doors.
An awesome video, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I really understand that you only go in abandoned buildings if it's meant to be. Though, it's cool when you can go in. I like Cracker Barrel and the 2 locations that I've eaten at are St. Clairsville, OH and Robinson Township in PA.
You might sleep knowing what a cracker barrel looks like when it's closed but you don't want to be in a cracker barrel when it's open and you find out how they make the food I'll tell you that
The only Cracker Barrel in Ohio that I knew of that closed was in Medina, OH, years ago. It , and a Knights Inn behind it, was torn down to make way for a Nissan dealership. I wonder where this one was.
If you would have went down the past the office you should have hit the dish room and just past it to the right should have been a long hallway that leads to a training classroom and the door at the end leads to the back side of the giftshop stock room and you can pass through that room and back into the public giftshop.
Wallie, you know what else is a darn shame? J's breakfast and burgers on Midway Road in Dallas Texas that was a long time staple and hot spot 24/7 restaurant just recently closed September 24, 2024. It was opened during the pandemic and was a hot spot and a beloved Dallas restaurant.
Cracker Barrel is testing several locations with repainted dining rooms, brighter lighting and with booths, I never seen one, yet with it being repainted inside, I would speculate this is one of those location. And it looks ugly inside. The new CEO blames the restaurant appearance in the declines in sales, saying the younger generation does not relate to the old appearance. So, she wants to modernize the restaurants with new paint, booths and lighting and increase the menu prices. She is out of touch, this will further kill Craker Barrel, inflation is the blame in decrease sales, all restaurants are experiencing it. So, I guess one way to increase sales is to increase prices, STUPID.... We do not have much to spend eating out due to high prices and if they increase the prices and make the restaurants like this, we will never return to Craker Barrel. It went from brown and warm to gray and white to a cold felling, plus very bland. Awesome video Wallie!!!
So thats why? I'm glad to see the reason why for the new ugliness & old charm ambiance is gone. Like Taco Bell too did the same thing. So unexciting & unnoticeable!
Steak and Shake had some deal where someone paid $10,000 and took ‘ownership” of a location and received half the profits, I guess after overhead, food costs and salaries. Didn’t sound that great of a deal to me.
This is definitely not something you see every day, especially here in the south. I live in the town just east of Lebanon, TN where CB’s HQ is located (and home to the original store). Since our area was the first have Cracker Barrel, I’d estimate about 10 or so of the truly original stores that opened in the 1970s were relocated to new, ‘modern’ buildings during the 90s (the Lebanon store that opened in the 60s relocated in the mid 80s and is still there to this day). So for us, ‘abandoned Cracker Barrel’ has always meant one of those original locations that moved to a new building. Virtually all of them have since been demolished over the past couple of decades. The only exception I know of is the Cookeville, TN location. The original building at the former Cookeville Mall (also the only to ever be connected to an indoor mall) is not currently abandoned, as it’s now an antique store. If you’re ever back in our area, you should definitely check it out as it still looks like a Cracker Barrel both inside and out, just with antiques inside! Those original locations were similar to what you see today but with a slightly smaller footprint and different layout. I’m really getting off into the weeds here, but according to a Cracker Barrel Facebook group I’m in, there are at least two of those original-style Cracker Barrel locations from the 70s still open today - located off the Stewart’s Ferry I-40 exit outside of Nashville and in Cedar Bluff (suburb of Knoxville), also just off I-40. Both have been extensively renovated over the years. I don’t think Stewart’s Ferry looks any different than a new CB today, but Cedar Bluff does still have the old-school vibe if you know what you’re looking for. Every other location, no matter where you are in the country, pretty much follows the same layout and design they’ve used since the early 80s - nothing unique to see. Kind of a shame. Any way, great find there! Unfortunately, with Cracker Barrel’s current mismanagement, I worry this will go from being a unicorn sighting type thing to as common as an abandoned Pizza Hut over the next decade or so.
Just my observation, but it seems as though you aren't having as much fun with these as you used to a few years ago. There used to be a time where getting into an abandoned place was fun, and now it seems like as soon as you get in you can't wait to get out.
I’m pretty sure it’s one in Columbia, SC at village of Sandhills b/c I live here & I know it closed a few months ago & was painted that color. Next door to Red Robin.
It can be quite scary at first not knowing what's inside. Aside from potential squatters, I personally would also be worried about asbestos or how structurally sound the building is.
Oh yes... I certainly do. If my instinct tells me not to do it, I usually listen. My instinct was telling me that place in York, PA I got inside of was a bad idea.... then I find the bullet casings all over the floor. I got right out of that building that very moment. This wasn't so bad yet something kept telling me it could have gone either way. I was nervous for sure!
I’ll tell you exactly why someone broke in, It was probably some crackhead looking to see if there was any copper to score. The ones who need money for their next fix
Wallie, is this the Cracker Barrel location where those terrible murders (employees) happened some years back? I don't think they ever re-opened that location after that happened. Could be wrong, though....
I got curious reading your comment and looked it up. It's still open, somehow! 3845 Tollgate Blvd. in Naples, FL. There's a local news article asking if it was haunted.
wallie even if cracker barrels is making a profit the big shots still close the business i wonder how many employees show up to work and find out that you no longer have a job to go to i know all this because im a former cracker barrel employee
I frequently put on your videos while I'm working around the house. My three year old gets all excited and yells "Yellow car guy!"
Yellow car guy!!! 😂😂😂 I love that! That's adorable! Thank you!!!
That’s actually so awesome 👏
@@WallieB26awww your the cool uncle now ...that's so sweet

Cracker Barrel is one of my favorites! I love their food.
I was looking for abandoned Cracker Barrel videos a few weeks ago and didn’t find hardly anything. Wallie to the rescue!
I dropped everything to watch this because you don't see abandoned Cracker Barrels very often.
I'm so glad you went inside!
Thanks!
That place was totally gutted,
The building had an interesting style and is certainly big enough for two companies to run it
Exploring is fun! Don’t stop exploring. Looks so creepy inside.
I don't plan to!
@@WallieB26I was waiting if there be one of those battery operated little sunflowers that dance and sing on the floor somewhere
Cracker Barrel has the country store and lots of people who travel the country in RV's boondock there. Really glad wallieb26 filmed this place.

Hey melody, there's one that's open where I live.
I didn't think you was able to get into the building honestly glad you did it
So sad another business has closed! Awesome video bro! 👍👍❤️🤘
Hey Carla, I hate to see businesses close too
Well, this is a first! Heck yeah! Glad to see yet another interior explore video brother!
It was definitely a surprise. I didn't anticipate much out of this place. That made the video much more fun.
Please bring back the old introduction to the channel if you can because I like the old introduction.

What is the location of this ?
Cracker Barrels are dark when they’re abandoned, but only when the windows are boarded. This abandoned Cracker Barrel was pitch black inside!

The Parent Company is not doing well. So they are closing locations to cut costs and avoid bankruptcy.
Cracker Barrel - maybe the only restaurant where even the "plain" vegetable side dishes are not vegetarian.
Nope. They have flavor
Cool
That was fun btw.😊
Reason why it closed is because the CEO who owns Steak ‘n Shake also owns Cracker Barrel. He is ruining those restaurants.
Steak and Shake had some deal where someone paid $10,000 and took ‘ownership” of a location and received half the profits, I guess after overhead, food costs and salaries. Didn’t sound that great of a deal to me.
I have already heard that
Nobody's inside the building and what city and state is this location in
I miss cracker barrel how do I get started on you tube let me on is

also congrats on 69.6k

if that is the Kalamazoo Michigan abandoned Cracker Barrel, it’s because of the murders in the parking lot back in I think 2016.

The way things are now days no business is safe from closure
why does the power need to be on , the power does not need to be unless people are interested in the building
Yeah I agree. Often times I see abandoned places with the lights still on for whatever reason.
