    I find it weird that a place can be open and operating for 50-60 years building looks fine but 2-3 years after the place is closed can look like this

      Ikr ? I mean obviously they maintain and/or repair the building every few years but we never see them do so... lol

    • @nicholas87541
      @nicholas87541 6 месяцев назад +2

      I wonder if it has something to do with heating/air conditioning and stuff like that which would likely no longer be running to ventilate the places, but would regularly run while the place is open and in use. That, on top of regular repairs to maintain buildings.

    I worked for the parent company that took over Food Town (now called SpartanNash). I remember when they announced that they were shutting them down. I actually went down to a couple Food Town and The Pharm stores to help pack and close them down. Crazy to see this building in terrible condition.

    • @amyspurgeon6153

      Spartan killed Foodtown and the pharm! We knew it wouldn’t last 5 yrs the way they were running it. They came in saying Oh they’re a “Christian” company blah blah don’t worry they’ll treat you good. Yeah they treated us right into unemployment! Biggest joke out of Michigan!

It was a cash and carry then before cash and carry it was it toy store and the building has been added on a couple times then when Spartan took over that’s when Foodtown closed in the early 2003 I believe and in every place where the roof caved in and has daylight that’s where the roof was leaking before the store closed if you ever noticed across the street where Farm and family is at one time it used to be a Hills/Ames department store then at one point it was a Steve N Barry’s sporting goods
