The 2 best teams of this RWC cycle lost to the 2 best teams of all time
The 2 best teams will be in the finals….Springboks and Abs……you are confusing yourself with teams who made it into the top 8
@@IainHirons I did just call the All Blacks and the Springboks the 2 best teams of all time which is way better than been the best 2 teams of the few years because always eventually the 2 best teams of all time come back to been the best 2 teams right now which yes they did in the weekend
You did…..English can be ambiguous…..@@Alex55455

Lovell means wolf@@Alex55455
No disrespect or arrogance towards Pumas and English fans but my prediction is The All Blacks and The Springboks will win their respective Semi Finals. My reason is both NZ and South Africa have too much pace, power, skill and depth also key players peaking at the right time and injury free squads. All Blacks vs Springboks is a dream World Cup Final scenario, the story writes itself. Both Countries with 3 World Cups each and going for their fourth World Cup at a neutral venue in a neutral Country, it's box office rugby.
I agree with you except for the injury free. SA is missing arguably their best player in Marx
But but England and Argentina will lose 😂. It's not being disrespectful or arrogant. It's just funny. 😂
@@jacquesventer3170 Am and Mapimpi as well.
As a kiwi growing up in a family of 10 rugby mad boys one of my childhood delights was getting up at 3am to watch the all blacks play against sth africa when they were touring I am now 61 and can't wait for these 2 great rugby nations to square off in the final like someone else said no disrespect to England and Argentina but a sth africa nz final is box office stuff 😊😊😊
No disrespect taken, I think your comment is correct I’m not sure England are at the same level as the All Blacks or Springbok but at the end of the day until you’ve won the game nobody knows the outcome & I as a English man “hope” we can make a game of it!
Take care
Rassie surely directs the ship. Great POD and discussion - respectful and insightful
Love to see New Zealanders praising and recognising the importance of their team winning the defence..it was not that long ago that Fozzie was being put to sleep by watching a team that focuses on playing without the ball, dominating the gain line, making dominant tackles and kicking the ball back to the attack minded teams to see if they can do anything with the ball. Having said that , as a Bok fan, I was on my feet shouting for the magnificent all blacks ABs as theytold Ireland to sit back down. - hopefully see you in an all SH final. Good luck against Los Pumas.
The Bok coach called for an HIA because they saw head to head contact which the team doctor & match doctor might have missed.
True and anyway, the independent match doctor has to approve all HIA subs regardless of who is requesting it so there is no conspiracy here
The boks scored tries from unstructured play cause they couldn't do it from structured play cause they weren't allowed to by ref. France were given leeway to do basically anything at breakdowns and playing the ball on ground. Listen, all credit to O Keeff he didn't allow french crowd to get the better of him at the end of game. But the breakdowns? Anyways, Libbok stood firm in his channel big time. ABs wanted the win bad, bad news for Ireland on the night
Ball in play time for the nz v ire & fra v sa games?
Since when has the AB been the underdogs. They always seem to be the favourites.
Iv'e heard of rose tinted glasses, but these guys were wearing black glasses, very black glasses as they clearly didn't see the no arms tackle, the neck roll in the 37 phases, Barnes didn't blow for those and the Whitelock jackal was a no release tackle, he simply latched on and got away with it.
These 2 teams are not 3 times champions for nothing. So when the Irish said that they prefer to play the AB's instead of FR I knew that was a huge mistake. You never ever write off the AB's or SA. They know how to close out games. 2 great games
So true!! History to back you up bro!!👊💪🏉👍👏👏👏
They stated that? How very foolishly.
Is every Fan hellbent on taking offence? Ireland’s record under Andy Farrell is played ABs + France 4 times and won 3 v NZ but lost 3 v France… saying they’ve a far worse record against France who would also have massive home support and so would prefer New Zealand does not mean they disrespected them.
Lol the ratings went to their head
@@center__massThat had no relevance for this squad.
Even if they don’t win the World Cup, I’m happy because they beat Ireland in the QF. That’s enough for me haha
Normad is an Irish hater . Childish and must have an IQ of a sardine . England wont be in the final
Was a great brave victory but hey come on we want that trophy as a nation 😅
That weak mindset is why our boys standards have gone down
Interesting take
We've got this stay positive about our ABz ..Since they thrashed Italy ..I thort they play a awesome game well the score says it ..
Sexton made the wrong decisions you take whatever points you can in a quarter they didn’t do their home work
It really confused me when he didn’t take those shots. It seems pretty obvious to me and I’m just a chick sitting on the couch yelling at the TV 😂
@@schnickeringhen exactly common sense right over confident
Yeah they took a gamble and it backfired underestimated the ABs mauling defence but he also missed a 3pt penalty after that aswell didn't take their opportunities good enuf
@@ManaBrown-vw4sp yup they were chasing the game the whole time
@@trevjones7099 I mean u definitely need to score tries in between not just penalty kicks but there were moments where he should’ve went for the goal but didn’t
I think that Ireland choking is not a fair assessment because they were still incredibly good. The problem for Ireland was that the AB's had the tactics 100% right to beat Ireland, but the AB's had to play at one of the highest levels they have ever played to beat Ireland ..... the defense at the end of the match won it. 30 plus phases without causing a penalty has probably never happened. If Ireland played the AB's again they would probably be able to prepare tactics to better compete. In this match they were surprised by the tactics and could not find a solution to the AB tactics during the game.
What tactics? The same tactics they've always had, play the ref illegally slow the ball, cynical penalties to stop line breaks and as usual at world cups the refs let it go because they believe they are saving a spectacle! Jeez people are actually praising Ben O'Keefe for "letting the game flow" that's nonsense he just didn't penalise infringements 😂. Any ref could do that 😂😂
@@billbobby461 Ireland lost too many breakdowns because the AB's were flooding them, which should have the disadvantage of leaving space, but Ireland couldn't take advantage of it because the AB's kept coming up with the ball. Ireland should have had a contingency plan for this scenario, but they didn't.
@@billbobby461they did get 2 yellow cards…and still won.
@@jameswaterhouse-brown6646 and how many more did they deserve 🤣🤣
@SlowfingerJC yea yea they also jumped across the lineout, had their hands on the ball off their feet its constant infringements 🤣🤣
Seeing Aaron Smith crying after Sam Whitelock got the turnover showed how much that win meant and how determined (and probably a bit scared) they were. Like it is for someone like Sexton, it would've been a shame for him and Whitelock to go out like that.
I really hope the ABs go into the ARG game knowing that they need to be just as switched on in order to win. ARG can beat us if we don't show up.
As for SA vs ENG, I don't want either team to win, but I think I want ENG to lose more.
Exactly. Johnny might be great, and Ireland might but great. But those guys in the Black Jersey, they come from a country, from family's, from schools where Rugby means everything. Ireland think it means a lot to them, and it does. but there is no way the Irish fans watching that game were as invested and felt as deeply in that last 5 minutes as however many million New Zealanders who watched it were. New Zealand as a whole nation needed that and the boys knew it and delivered.
Aaron smith should have cried when he did that box kick with 3 mins to go
Unfortunately there has to be a winner and it might just be SA in that semi final
It was hands in the ruck
@@taraishot100😂talk about brain explosion
I still have some hope that my Pumas will play the game of their lives. We defeated the AB last June,we can try to do it again.
If the ABs can't score 2+ tries, they will have to have great discipline from their 40m to their try line. Bofelli is pumping kicks from 55Meters.
After he missed a 50m kick to beat France in 2019, to escape the Pool of Death, he has worked to become the bets 50+m Kicker in the world (imo)
What happened to Argentina after that win? They ended up getting pumped by 50 points a week later. They won’t beat the All Blacks, but they won’t get carved up either.
We are lucky as South Africans, all of our players are good so if we chop and change it works out either way as we have a very good success rate with all players. And of course a wonderful captain Siya and Rassie and Jacques to complete it all.
So many good Bok players - love Siya and Eben especially. Unless they’re playing our ABs 😂
Well said so much depth 🇿🇦
Bok defensive system allows for a lot of miss tackles, rush defence is more about disruption and cutting off options. That does not mean the defence is weak, they dont give away a lot of tries
They quite possibly have the best defence
@@ShiNooBi1986 Ireland have the best defence, but of the 4 in the semi's, I would say that SA are the best in defence.
True but usually they managed to keep it down below 30. More than 40 was a lot.
They conceded 4 tries in the whole of the 2019 World Cup. They've conceded 7 already. Still a very good defence but not as airtight as 2019.
As a South African with Irish parents....and being bought up completely in Irish culture....I was devastated on Saturday BUT living in South Africa which is a country in absolute turmoil I cannot explain the difference it makes to our country when we win the world cup......it unites like nothing else since Mandela was released.....the Springboks know they are playing for that feeling of unification again.....
The win against Ire was brilliant but NZ have to turn up switched on against Arg. We saw what happened last year after a HUGE effort at Ellis Park
true. what a game by the Argies tho 💪 still think we need consistency, but they will show up and respectfully win or lose
As a springbok fan I think these 2 semis are going to be way tighter than we all think. The strain that game took on both all blacks and springboks will be immense so hopefully they can both stay focused through the their semi finals and maintain that urgency
Rassie will in start a new centre pairing (Estherhuizen and Moodie), probably have Kleyn on the bench Reinach might be replaced with Grant Williams or Jaden Hendrikse., Duane Vermulen will be replaced by Wiese.
Boks didn't play the full 80min so the intensity and fatigue will not be a factor for the England game
Well said this was a huge emotional drain on both sth africa and my ABs hope they have a good psychologist in their management teams Can't wait for both sth africa to meet in the final ...oops getting ahead of myself
nail in the head.
You’re right it took our all blacks all they had to get that win. I’m not counting out the Argies they have come along way since having joined the RC
Yeah, totally agree. We just need both teams hyped enough to drag their carcasses through this. Then we can meet in the final and pulverise each other 😂
AB v SAF final
As South Africans… the French win was our final 🎉😂 to start we too tired from that match to experience that again. But our boys did us proud. Us or the ABs winning the cup 😊 will leave me happy
We dont need rest to pkay this Eng team mate😂😂😂
@@ThaboNyamo I agree Thabo. It will be the biggest surprise of the WC should the Boks lose to England. England forwards are no match for the Boks. Fiji even got the better of them.
There will be only one winner 🥇 and they won't be in green or white😊
@@ManaBrown-vw4sp when you say you will be happy if the AB's win the cup, you are not South African bro. I would hate it if they won it.

The only disappointing thing about these Quarter Finals is that I don't think the Semi's and Final will possibly measure up. I was screaming at the IRE V NZ game, basically doing backflips after NZ won. Couldn't believe it, it was a Final in it's own right.
So true. They’ll probably be slow and grindy, and it’ll be like 7-8 at fulltime again.
I love a strong defensive rugby too. I loved SA vs Wales last world cup, as much as these quarters this world cup. Quality of game.
You'll be srceaming if the ABs can't score enough tries. Bofelli is pumping 55meter kicks.
@@karlvanbeek1580 I was mainly screaming at how bad the reffing was. Terrible game 😂
Hey Ross I was like you - I felt I was a second half back, standing in my living room screaming instructions at each ruck. I was physically shaking at the end. Imagine the feeling if we has lost on that final play!
I'm a changed man after watching that game.
The intensity the All blacks delivered against Ireland was unbelievable. I really hope they can do the same in a potential final against the Boks, because no doubt the Boks will bring it as they always do.
Hard to believe but South Africa and New Zealand are going for their 4th world Cup jeez.
The best New Zealand rugby program by far !!!
So refreshing after listening to The Breakdown so called pundits…
Yes real in depth sensible discussions and they actually talk about rugby not only one team. Real refreshing show love it !
Thank you Kiwis for giving Ireland the biggest humble pie in history. They needed it. Sexton at the end, insulting and ignoring his own son was fantastic to see. He is not a legend, he is a 38 year old child and got humbled bad!
Again, thank you kiwis 🥝
New zealand v south Africa the final 100%
Sexton saying they didn’t dream about winning RWC growing up, isn’t in any way a slight on NZ, it was about how much Ireland have improved from the amateur era. You’re reading way too much, or choosing to read too much into that. Remember it was 111yrs to the first Irish victory over the ABs and 64yrs + to their 2nd grand slam.
That not the slight. He assumed Ireland would make it to the finals in the next sentence.
He didn't didn't realise ABs saw the QF as payback time.
@dominicm255 ,that's just your take on it. There was nobody here in Ireland (or our squad) believing that I assure you. On the evidence, we had earned the right to be confident but NZ produced their best, most intense performance and deservedly won. End of story.
@@dominicm255that's a completely wrong read on this. Don't forget Ireland were nowhere for years and now the system has really developed. There was certainly no expectation to win the WC, you must be mad, but there was confidence that it was possible. Of course they had a very very tough route but there are a lot of parallels between Ireland and NZ.
The centralised club system in Ireland is exceptional so i hope that continues
@garydonlan7869 Sexton said, "As a boy growing up, I never dreamed Ireland would make the world cup final, now we're making it a reality." Spoken in the lead up to the QF.
Reality bites.

The quality of comments by these three gentlemen are do much superior compared to the comments by John Kirwan and Jeff Wilson. Well done!. Should it be a final between the AB's and the Springboks in the final, it will be as much a battle of the minds vs. actual ability and strategy. Whom will be the most hungry?
NZ tackle percentage vs France was 73%, and you only needed to make 93 tackles in total. How do you compare that to South Africa who had to make 158 tackles at 71%. Springboks had to defend a lot more than NZ had to vs the French and conceded same amount of point. The only reason I give ABs a shot is because they are more familiar with Springboks and how they play. I think the Springboks are the clear favourite to defend the title.
I reckon we need DMac etc. to put some minutes out this next game cause the rest of the team will be tired AF. Plus DMac is amazing and I just want to see him play 😂
I reckon we should keep the same team if we can but make changes at the 55th min mark to blow them away for good 👋
I think we all know that each team will be showing total respect to who they will face. Semis are knockout …and as an AB fan…know they will be fully focussed on Argentina. My heart will always be black so will always support ABs for the semis. Looking forward to great match with Argentina. We definitely rate them as a team. For other semi…would love to see SA win
SA didn't actually miss those tackles it's because of the rush d wen they run passed a player to cut off a pass it counts as a missed tackle
Intense and highly entertaining game from AB's and Ireland. Not getting carried away, we haven't won a thing yet,and have shown we can be sublime one week and terrible the next. When we're back to being reliably consistent, I'll be excited, still a bit wary, but definitely moving forward.
Well done to Foz, coaching team, and the players .
Best rugby podcast. Lots of hype, good amount of specificity and tactics. Always need to brew a cuppa and listen intently
Defining moment of the 2023 Rugby World Cup: the chargedown by Cheslin Colby, first cousin of Wade van Niekerk - world 400m recordholder.
The massive difference between ABs 2007 and ireland 2023 is that ABs 2007 was the start of an Era of great players like richie kaino and read,, DC, the nonu Smith combo, and this is the end of an Era of great players for Ireland. It's the end of Peter o Mahony. Taigh furlong, JGP, Murray. Sexton. Lowe , Aki
Not quite, I'd the '07 team wouldn't have gone on to such heights if it wasn't for that tragedy. That team learnt from that loss and now it's up to Ireland to do the same. They have the best infrastructure in the world atm for funneling new talent through to the national side so if they can instill the lessons from matches like this into the culture of the team the future is looking good. Ireland may go backwards in some areas just as we have since the McCaw era but like the All Blacks they know how to win and at the end of the day it's about the team not individual players.
They have the goods to keep improving. I won't write em off just because their greats are leaving, I hope we face an even better Ireland with an even better ABs side in four years.
@@Slipperygecko390 nah I'm not writing them off, I just think this Irish team is more comparable to the ABs 2015 team. I mean that ABs 2015 team were as dominant in the 4 years leading upto 2015 as the Irish were leading upto this one. Ireland will always be contender from now on, just think they really missed their best chance in a generation.
The public in NZ give your team no chance before the WC , yet you won the Championship plus you beat SA at Ellis Park .. There might be another twist yet ,man for man England are not inferior to SA and you might be playing us yet.
Regarding HIA, the officials have to clear every replacement and sub, so at the end of the day the final call goes to the officials, so everyone pointing fingers at SA, its the officials who where non SA officials that cleared it. End of story. Move on
Thank you. People always trying to find conspiracies where there are none. The real question that should be asked is why none of those head contacts were reviewed. Penaud on PSDT was certainly worse than Etzebeths one. Even I think both should be let go as I don’t want these kind of cards, if you are going to check one, you should be consistent and check others too.
Passionate Springbok here, well done with the game this weekend, it was one of the best ever. I've always said that what the Northern hemisphere lack, is they don't bring the dog to the fight. The Springboks will die for us and so will the all blacks for their support. We saw it this weekend. Nz came in as underdogs and the boks played against the home team and 80 000 crazy french fans but we brought the dog to the fight and that was the major difference.
We respect the AB's immensely and hope to play each other in the final. Dont worry about us against the English, against them it's personal. We wil bring whatever it takes, you'll see.
So true bro. As a ABS fan no game gets me more stressed then when we play the boks. I know we were both stressing on the weekend, but we can both agree there is nothing like the intensity and rivalry of ABs and Boks. Best to you and your team my bro.
Yes, those NH teams bring the dogs but with no teeth. As 1 or 2 in the ranking they think SH teams will lay down for them to walk all over. French coach blaming the officials for their loss is very sad. Sore losers.
England need to do something rather than SA having to do something to win that game. SA will accumulate, and they have the threats.
One area France got crushed was bombs to the mid field/wing zone mid field. If England can have set play off the SA midfield bomb it will be interesting. I don't think Borthwick is smart enough however. *I think this is very exploitable because SA is comfortable not playing with the ball, but they stretch their big men by making them run around the field.
Of both the semis you'd give the English the best chance at an upset. Don't forget they are the only unbeaten team in the tournament now.
The most ironic situation is if both Argentina and England won. Then which side of the draw was actually the hardest?!?
All in all, if we get the same quality of rugby we got on the weekend, then all the fans are the winner.
Argentina have a better chance at upsetting the Abs than England have lol😂😂 that's not even a question. Love the all blacks but Fozzie is a moron and cheika could do him
Let's do the semi before we talk the final, looking forward to Saturday ALL BLACKS lets show the due respect Los Pumas they are big powerful skillful players, lets do the mahi to get the job done.
Exacto. Acá en Argentina tenemos el refrán: "no te comas el almuerzo antes del desayuno"... Igual los AB van de banca y nosotros de punto. Es lo que le da epicidad para nosotros. Saludos y buen partido!
Wish I could speak or read Spanish besides exactly, I know and I'm sure the All Blacks know that we are in for a battle in this semi Argentina at their best can beat any team we will have to play as good or better then we did in the quarter final, all the best to Los Pumas I can't wait for kick off.

The tackle stats can be misleading, the Boks rush defence is not always about making the hit but stopping the attacking team's move, to get them to stop going one way and return to the pack where they will get hit back.
I'm going to pick an upset. England to beat the Boks. I know, crazy, and I will probably eat my words, but it just wouldn't surprise me.

I really like that one Ireland having the 'chokers' tag. It must suit them as it happened now in all wcups. The Southern hemisphere always show up when it matters. Its a vicious circle, France beat New Zealand, Ireland beat South Africa, New Zealand beat Ireland ans South Africa beat France. All blacks and Boks final likely. May the best team win. In short all and sundry can see where the balance of power lies and thats in the Southern hemisphere.
Ireland had 2 World Cups as genuine contenders, how many times did the all blacks actually choke though 😂
@@billbobby461 Lots of Irish players play for Leinster, they dominate the whole season then choke in finals under pressure as favorites, last 2 URC seasons when SA teams joined specifically stand out, I could see it happening for Ireland in a pressure game.
Same team always win. Its getting bored far better under pressure Ireland will never win the world Cup fear
@Mad_Intalect yea yea what about all the teams that never make it to the finals 🤣 not even able to be called chokers. Truth is rugby is played by a few thousand people in Ireland. People say its the 4th sport in the country but I don't think they get how far down that is, I have 3 GAA clubs within 4 miles. Probably about 20 in 10 miles radius. Never mind soccer. @@billbobby461in fairness, that's not the case in Munster
SA may have dropped those tackles, but that is part and parcel of their defensive structure....the missed tackles are actually players shooting up past the ball carrier to close down opportunities for the ball carrier. Those are then counted as "missed" tackles. Even if France made 14 line breaks, SA use scramble defense like no one else, and it's also part of the plan if the rush defense slips up on occasion.
England still only the unbeaten team, Don’t count them out, and don’t count out Argentina

You got the soccer world cup. Can't have both, don't be greedy. Although how crazy would that be.
I couldn’t help feeling that Irish fans were seduced by their teams #1 world ranking. Most of the Irish commentary I listened to focused on this aspect, as if that more or less had to guarantee their progress through to the final. There also seems to have been no consideration that NZ may have adapted since their series loss to Ireland. I don’t know if this also impacted the Irish rugby team as well, but ultimately Ireland we’re taught the same painful lesson New Zealand had drummed home tournament after tournament between 1991 and 2011 - reputations and rankings mean nothing in knock-out rugby.
So right it went straight to their heads, they were going mad, yet not for one second did they not consider NZ for decades were no 1 yet couldn’t win also you never ever hear kiwis gloating about being 1 in the rankings
The whole world tried to warn them, no more than the Saffas, who knows not to discredit the old foe, but they did not listen
I think you're all wrong, and you're not in Ireland, so you don't know the reality. What's wrong with having belief and pride in your team?
The reality is that there was 5 points between both matches of the top 4.
If's and but's but there were opportunities for all the teams to win or lose those games in the final minutes.
Its coming home 2 England
Lol😂
The reason the Springboks defense is the best in the world is the same reason that miss tackles, their focus is on disrupting/slowing down the play, more than makes no the tackle, which they do so well. They missed 40 tackles when they smashed the ABs a few weeks ago.
A lot of those SA 'missed tackles' still disrupted the France attack and therefore served their overall purpose quite well, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on their tackle completion rate.
AB n SA final
Irelands win record started with the All Blacks and also ended with the All Blzcks
the winning of this next game for the AB's is going to all be about mentally resetting from the Ireland. They need to consciously do it and get stuck into a full preparation. IF the dwell in the past of the Ireland game for a moment too long and get complacent its the most likely thing to leave them vulnerable. michael cheika will be preparing hat side to throw everything at the AB's. We cant take it lightly, need to be as prepared as they were for Ireland.
As an Argentinian I expect either AB win by 30 or pumas by 1. On paper SA and NZ clear favourites to play the final.
Agree. If ABS can score tries and get attacking, they can win big. If they can't, well Bofelli is pumping 55m Kicks.
England's the ONLY unbeaten team in the semis! Wow...
NZ just smashed that winning streak of Ireland, so I guess it's South Africas turn now to smash England's "unbeaten" record
17:20 must say, as much as i was hoping for an AB victory (most South Africans want a SH final), i thought there would be an infringement with the ferocity of the AB attack on the breakdown at the death. Well done for that AMAZING passage of play ABs...

Well if Argentina beat us on Friday then we never deserved to get to the final never mind win it. Consistency has been an issue for us over the last few years based mainly on not deciding players in key positions. Jordie Barret and Rieko changed the midfield. Lomax and degroot changed the forward power and at 6 we finally found a Jerome Kano replacement. If we remain fit, we have a very good chance of winning on Friday and the following Saturday.
I'm a big fan of this show and of James, but his comments about Sexton was utter nonsense. Sexton was not saying that Ireland were a sure thing for the final and looking beyond NZ. He was simply saying that is was incredible as an Irish player, looking at where we came from in the game, that we were being looked at as a genuine contender and the players felt they were, justifiably. That in no way was Sexton writing off NZ. I was disappointed in a lot of the NZ chatter in the build up. Gregopr Paul was writing nonsense in the NZ Heraland bout Ireland being unlikeable and how NZ didn't like Ireeland etc. I get it, you needed this to try and get you an edge, but it was ridiculous and a bit embarrassing to rely on that.
England at long last has reason to get up and produce their very best. 4 years ago they were the best forward pack. They could be dangerous if allowed to play their game of smothering the opposition. With nothing to lose and very few expecting any success ; who knows. And what the ref. Probably a French referee.
Ireland lost because thwy did not listen to Enya before they played the game. Serves them right!
Argentina vs England! Make it happen 🪄 ✨
I had to do the commentary for my mum in aussie for the last 4 minutes of ab ire,she lost radio coverage and called my brother and I,I have to say RESPECT to the commentators, because I was KNACKERED after those last minutes ...then I got the hiccups for the rest of the day.CMOOOOONNNNNNNN ALL BLACKS WE BELIEVE. love ya ma.
It’s pretty clear South Africa and New Zealand will win the semis. They took out there two biggest competitors in the quarters.
Kiwis and South Africans would do well to cool their jets prior to anticipating a final. Many Irish and French were the same last week. The Argentinians can ride a wave of passion that is hard to stop
It will take a 🟥 to stop both 3 times W.C winners.
True, England or the Puma’s could be banana skins but I think the Boks and the All Blacks have the wood over the other two teams. I can’t see anything but a AB v Boks Final. Having said that both teams need to be focussed this weekend.
If it’s an ABs v SA final honestly it will be a coin flip. If I had to make an objective prediction, I’d begrudgingly give the edge to the Boks. They’re REALLY good.
That tap penalty. SA shifted their forwards towards the touchline before RG took the tap, this meant France shifted their big boys to that side before SA launched Eben directly into 3 backs on the other side to score.
Game plan will be different
Base on opponent
Newzealand and South Africa will win the semi finals please
Has the "Match Official Team" system worked at this World Cup? In any sport a great game is always one where the officials go unnoticed and the players are given the freedom to express themselves and just play. As a TV viewer (like the vast majority of any audience), I have frequently found the reliance on and the involvement of the TMO a distraction which extended game time, disrupted the flow and allowed certain teams extended water breaks at crucial times. Some TMO's appeared to love centre stage and got involved for silly matters and then just did not "see" some obvious issues. The very best games were where the Ref "owned" the game and took control and made their own decisions - Barnes and Pyper are examples. Have refereeing standards been diluted by the seeming reliance / safety net of the TMO's? Touch Judges also appear to have become less important. When you select the officials for the Final - do you select the best Ref or the best TMO team? My point is that the TMO teams have become too prominent / dominant at the expense of good refereeing by the "man in charge", who should always get himself into the best position to make the best decisions, but also is in the best position to "read" the vibe of the game. Players want consistency, good communication and fairness from the "man in the middle" who needs to make real time decisions based on what he sees (with the assistance of the Touch Judges where relevant). Rugby has opened itself up to follow Footballers in rolling and screaming every time a hard hit is made in the hopes of attracting TMO attention to get the absolute best camera angle to milk a Penalty or a Red Card especially with the focus on Head Injuries. What happens at the lower levels where there are no or few cameras or TMO's" Focus needs to be on attracting, growing / developing and supporting referees, capable of managing a game to the best of their abilities.
Ending Irelands run was just as satisfying as winning
only because of the inflated insufferable arrogance from the irish media and fans about how brilliant their team was and how average the abs had become - if they had been humble and concentrated more on beating the abs than them thinking the game was "just another step to the cup that was rightfully theirs" - they may well have beaten the abs - pride comes before a fall
Would have preferred a team that hasn’t won a World Cup before, also better for the game of rugby overall. I’m not a fan of the salty arrogance in the comments section here either !!
@@aughalough1 then the teams have to win it - no point in giving it to a team just because they havent won it before - those teams have to get better and learn how to beat abs and sa at the cup and who is a fan of hubris arrogance only the fair weather fans
@@bodybalanceU2
Please All Blacks do not take the pumas lightly remember they beat us on our soil anyone is beatable.
As ireland found out
This is a different AB team & is the RWC. Every game is a final to the boys. The Aggies would have to be demigods to disrupt their destiny.
I am sure that is front and centre on their minds.
@@1jet1we can be, brace yourselves 😂
@@capitanbyrdnow, now, stay off the whoopy 😅😅😅
The Irish were not ready to win that game. They were ahead of themselves. A classic error to make in knockout games. Furthermore, if that was a final, I think they would have been crushed by the event.
Great team these boys are........awesome pod as always.
There was no expectation in Ireland that this would be a walkover. What utter nonsense. The difference for Ireland was that, for the first time ever in a world cup, they had a real chance of beating the ABs. The game was won, in the end, by Barrett's tremendous block when Ireland got the ball over the line in the 72nd minute.
That Ireland attack is something else. You have to be disciplined to not bite on the runners which means they are a high chance of breaking gain line every phase. ABs need to employ some rugby league minds into their attacking play. That set-up across the field will be a difference maker to unlock the defense
Irish and other team thinks, AB can not through the Semifinals, don’t forget, this is the World Cup, not the test as Irish beating AB in the past.
Ireland have shown that they are not the same team of 2019... I don't see that being Ireland's last scalp over the South
I’m not being over confident or arrogant…but I have the ABs just pipping the PUMAS……..and the same with the BOKs over ENG…..all TEAMS have experience, talent, skill, strength and heart….but I believe with all my heart it’s gonna be ABS vs BOKS final simply coz they the WC Kings
The hype over the northern hemisphere is real…and they are great teams…but are they finals TEAMS??????……Ireland particularly….chokers tag perhaps stays out of the fact they keep facing incredible TEAMS in the quarterfinals who simply just had enough to play the whole 80mins
Eng just got lucky against FIJI and capitalised on mistakes…nuff said
ABs and BOKs will be hard to beat….
Change the knockout finals phase to a NRL final series model. Keep the pool play and than the 8 teams that proceed to the finals are ranked on their current world rankings.
The finals series takes place over four weeks.
Week one
The top 4 teams play qualifying finals (QF) (1 vs 4, 2 vs 3) and the bottom 4 play elimination finals (EF) (5 vs 8, 6 vs 7).
Week two
1st semi-final:
Loser of 1st QF v winner of 1st EF
2nd semi-final:
Loser of 2nd QF v winner of 2nd EF
Week three
1st preliminary final:
Winner of 1st QF vs winner of 2nd SF.
2nd preliminary final:
Winner of 2nd QF vs winner of 1st SF.
Week four
World Cup Final:
Winner of 1st PF meets winner of 2nd PF.
I feel this system rewards teams that have been performing consistently over the last RWC cycle and gives more high quality games for fans!
Great analysis fellas! Love the technical aspect of your chat, keep up the good work team👍
Hi guys, long time listener here. I’ve got a question from me and a few fellow fans of ARP, we all listen to your show religiously. Our question is regarding the option to kick the ball away inside the 75-80 minute mark when you are in front. I get that you can back your defence, but by holding on to the ball are you not prolonging the period of attack and therefore delaying the period you may have to defend for? Furthermore, why would you box kick 20-40m for a marginal contestable when you could hoof it down there and commit to defending in a better part of the field? Talk us through this, no doubt Rassy and Fozzy have crunched the numbers here and they have landed on the same conclusion. We are kiwis, I almost understood it when we kicked the ball to Ireland with 4/5 minutes to go, but then watching SA kick the ball to France with 2 minutes to go seemed crazy. If it’s tight in the final with -5 mins to go, would you expect the team leading to kick the ball away?
Who really care about this semifinals now? 🤔I mean, we've got 2 teams which should not be here: England and Argentina... Vs 2 teams who will easily win. France and Ireland heartbreaking defeats have killed the charm and the suspense of this competition. Stadiums will be empty, with french and irish fans enjoying life in terraces.
England carriers was not must making try's... they was able letting them defend. Fiji sadly was giving england winning with penalties and kicking goals 🥴
English kicking was most dangerous and winning elements?
Sadly england was holding off fijian with defence... sadly for fijian game was not quickly running, fijian line outs also loosed to many sadly sad
Next matches and world cup fijian having more discipline and less fouls they going far🙏
And official ruling pacifican same like another 🙏
I won't be watching the NZ-ARG game. The true semis were in the quarter-finals. The two semis will be walk-overs and I will focus on the final
You guys are twisting what was said, the coaching staff didn't call for the HIA. The coaching staff asked to check. And you don't ask why was there no slo-mo footage on the tackle on the head of the SA players? You cannot compliment the SA team and coaching staff, without reverting to form and stereotyping us as crooks and just physical brutes.
James, Who thought it was going to be a walkover? New Zealand may want to think that because it ties in better with the idea of revenge after the last few years, but I'd be fascinated to know who thought it would be a walkover.
Haha, exactly, they cooked it up in their minds, not a single person thought it would be a walkover
Congratulations to the All Blacks on taking the lineal world championship off Ireland. Now holders of the Raeburn Shield ❤
As a Bok fan, I thought that one of the big reasons SA beat France was the ability to almost shut Aldritt out of the match. Vermeulen wasn't flashy but ne neutralized Aldritt massively which paid off over the match because he is pivotal to France's success.
On the Kwagga turnover, Nigel Owens reminded us that putting your hands on the floor is not in and of itself an infringement. It's only when you use your hands to hold your weight. You can use your hand- he only used one- to get your balance which he thought that Kwagga did.
No disrespect, but Im not interested at all to watch SA vs. NZ. Looking forward for England vs Argentina. As for Argentina, the goal is clear and they are determined, if not in this competition or future, they will lift that trophy.
etchebez ping pong rugby france 14 boks 0 and kolbe jump ramos transformation video ?
I find it incredible that world rugby is given a New Zealand ref, the ability to decide who will face New Zealand in the final. If he decides that New Zealand has a better chance against England, he can subtly sabotage South Africa’s chances to ensure that England wins in the semi-final. This is such a blatant conflict of interest that it should never be allowed. I am surprised that The South African rugby authorities have not complained about this situation..
Don't worry we see ABs as 1b. Especially after Twickenham.
