    Idk how you do it, but your ED videos are always entertaining.

    Once I apparently was jumping to a red dwarf but when I got there it looked suspiciously like a black hole

    When approaching a gas giant for surface mapping, I set myself up so I'm edge on to the ring and it sits at about a 45 degree angle. That way, it doesn't get in the way of my mapping pattern.

    I just learned that you can find cool stuff in the codex. I've been checking out lagrange clouds near Sag A* and I'm thrilled at the change of pace it's brought. I love your videos and always do a little happy dance when you drop an Ed vid. 07

    I have never experienced a boring Spatula Goose ED video. Absolutely incredible work man.

    Have you ever visited Skardee 1? It's the scariest planet I've ever landed on. Venus is a tropical paradise compared to the Dantes Inferno that Skardee 1 would be if it was real

    You know what, I’m going to start a poll one day to rename the flytrap nebula to the Venn nebula, and nobody can stop me.

    The blue nebula is really pretty, i know its just a vendiagram but in reality its so much more.. its a Vescia Piscis as Wikipedia puts it "The vesica piscis is a type of lens, a mathematical shape formed by the intersection of two disks with the same radius, intersecting in such a way that the center of each disk lies on the perimeter of the other" Its sacred geometry and i find it really interesting

    That moon is Raxxla

    These moons are called shepard moons, and they do exist in real life too.

    • @vib80
      @vib80 2 года назад +1

      Yep. They often occur in the middle of rings, clearing out a path between them. The solar system has a few that are within the Roche limit of a giant, too.

      Yeah, between the time that a body gets captured by a gravity well and the time said body breaks up due to the gravity well there is a period of time known as "the body orbiting the gravity well". It's another feature of time being linear and all that.

    I was wondering how you find the poi's in the area I am in. EDSM provides a long list but that isnt helpful to find ones close by. Many thanks for the tip. And great entertaining video as always.

    I use night vision so often can't understand how someone else would not have it mapped to a key or button.

    @ 7:11 This is not entirely true. Objects can go beyond the Roche limit and remain intact if their own gravity can hold them together. I don't know the maths but it's not accurately modelled in ED. That particular moon is too big to remain intact where it is but much smaller objects could remain intact even beyond the rings. Take a look at the innermost Jupiter moons. They are on the outer edge, inner edge and inside the Jupiter rings. They are however only a few dozen km in diameter, not hundreds or thousands like this one.

    Speaking of Roche Limits... Isn't there a moon in Dromi that passes between rings of one of the planets? I think it's Dromi 2 A... I know it's a newbie system, but i always found it odd whenever I went there.

      These are shepard moons, the do exist in real life, for example Pandora moon at Saturn rings.

    Actually Saturn has a moon in its ring system, altho it is not quite as round :D

    • @TheTechnoPilot
      @TheTechnoPilot 2 года назад +4

      It actually has one for effectively every sub ring, they are called Shepard Moons. It’s just that they are effectively large asteroid size at most. We also know now though that that the rings and ring particles are generally far to think in Elite and should much smaller and thinner.

    I was thinking of returning to ED for some time. Had a look on RUclips and since I've left many months ago, it seems like nothing has happened. Odyssey is still broken, there is still no new content (( *ship interiors* )) besides a new SRV, still no story progression or anything that would make the game better than it was. So I'm very not convinced right now
