It was always Milroe, even the OC hire, heavy run and QB developer, Pate you finally figured it out, Bama is going to run it and toss a few bombs when the D gets complacent. Let's see if it works.
The last two seasons the team Josh Pate picked to win the natty didn’t even make the playoffs. Looks like it’s going to be three years in a row. That’s kind of hard to do.

It’s crazy that both QB’s were committed to Texas at one point.
Crazy that both will be injured and we wonder if Manning will be laughing on the sidelines - like Chrissy Simms did with Mack Brown. How'd that turn out?
@@BuffaloC305Maalik is the backup, so Arch isn't a factor yet
How is that crazy
It's crazy that any top QBs would commit to Texas.
@@BuffaloC305who got injured? Positive I watched Quinn beat bamas ass for four quarters.
Boy, Bama was backed into a corner in wounded animal mode most of the night 😂
Guess some of your staff isn’t crazy for “picking Texas straight up”
Damn Josh why didn't you go live after the game?😂
Love your show bro! Missed that prediction pretty bad though. Bama has no QB, no O line, and in fact CANT rush the passer. The best part is...Georgia now clearly runs this conference. Sic 'em
What's with the Bama doesn't have a quarterback crap? Milroe played great Saturday. Clearly has refined his game so he's better at it than before. Bama got into a real rhythm in that game most likely because of the lack of penalties and mistakes and good execution, especially for a first game. Nobody mentions the kicking game, but it was NFL like, i.e., they made it look easy, and that could be the difference Saturday.
As an OU fan, the quotes or questions about Sabin are not true. OU has had 4 legendary coaches. The first being not well known in this day and age. They all did something that Saban has done also. They all made everyone else in college football better. Saban has made college football as a whole, step up their game. If anything, he has gotten better as the competition has improved.
Facts! Saban is the reason the game is as high level as it is today.
Saban.
Nick Saban is the correct spelling!
Yes Saban found his place. But as an Oklahoma fan, for some reason I’m picking Texas.
@@ronniebishop2496 lol, I thought u guys hated Texas. But I also thought u guys like winning too, but I think I'm wrong: didnt win a lot last year, and now y'all wanna play in the SEC next season? Good luck w that

Rather it be Texas they deserve it from all the crap they’ve gotten over the years for almost being back
Especially texass fans. But i’m rooting for them as an Oklahoma fan, because the red river rivalry is unpredictable lol
@@Quawnn Let's be real. You're rooting for them because Texas beating Bama would make your strength of schedule look better if you beat Texas this year. :)

Rooting for Texas... they got robbed last year
Alabama loses to Texas at home 24-20. Without a proven quarterback, Alabama falls!!

@@kengraham6288 ya, you overreaction fans crack me up every single year. Y'all never change; you'll overreact about a hangnail
I’m happy to see which QB is going to run the show.
Josh as a Bama fan your game analysis of Bama vs Texas was spot on. However the Bama defense last year is not the same defense this year under NEW DC Kevin Steele. The offense this year is not the same offensive from last season under new OC Tommy Reese. Last year in Austin Ewers did not get alot pressure on him and he had plenty time to wait for his WRs to get open. The on field temperature during that game was 125 degrees which was an advantage for Texas. The biggest negative impact for Bama during the game was 15 penalties, resulting in over 100 plus yards in favor of Texas. This game is Steve Sarkisian SuperBowl because Texas officials hired him to beat Bama and win future NATTYs. This is why Sarkisian took half of the Bama coaches with him to Texas. My last point is the Bama Secondary has played great so far with Key as a vital player. If he is unable to play, I don't know how much that will affect the game, but Bama has some good backups who got some playing time in the first game. While in the game there was no drop-off in performance. Lastly, the Sarkisian game plan is to spread the defense and force Bama front seven to defend the pass and run game. The Bama defense did a great job against Middle Tennessee, in which the ball is only in the hands of the QB for about two seconds. The key for Bama will be to put pressure on Ewers and stop the run. I believe the Bama Standard is back on defense under Steele. I think the game will be close in the first half, and Bama pulls away for the win in the second half.
Unfortunately I think your analysis here is pretty far off. First off you said last year in Austin Bama struggled because they couldn’t put pressure on Ewers. Ewers played for like 3 possessions of that entire game before getting injured. Also 125 degrees really doesn’t favor either, have you been down to Alabama during the summer?! I also think you cannot pick out anything about Bama’s first game. They played an atrocious team at home, of course they looked good. Not to mention they really didn’t rush that great. Milroe was there leading rusher and was 3rd in the amount of carrie’s taken. This was against MTSU. As far as this game goes we really will not know what will happen. Alabama struggled with teams who could air it out last year and that’s exactly what Texas can do. I think it’ll be a very close game that Texas pulls off. We just can’t really make any takeaways from week 1 where both teams played horrible opponents at home.
@@joeyholskey706ok
@@joeyholskey706 What you said about Bama running the ball against MTSU is fair. I wanted to see a lot better performance out of the OL making holes for the run game, and they didn't do a terrible job (2 sacks but both were actually on the RBs getting destroyed in pass protection, and Bama ran for 5.1 ypc) but MTSU was stacking the box and shooting the gaps which protected against breaking long inside runs but left them vulnerable on the outside and on deep passes, both of which Milroe punished. If Texas has the DBs to defend the pass they could do the same and give Bama some trouble, but I think Bama has the speed at WR to make that unsustainable, as well as it would let Milroe scramble out of the pocket for gains.
@@PirateOfPlayTime Bama is weak in their receiving core though. That isn’t a strength this year as we all know. It’ll be interesting to see if they step up against Texas or they get exposed a little. I really don’t think there will be a blowout either way
@@joeyholskey706 It's definitely way too early to call WR a weakness imo. There are a few sophomores returning who looked really good in limited time last year (Isaiah Bond, Kobe Prentice, and Kendrick Law), a big time JUCO recruit in Malik Benson, and older solid guys Jermaine Burton and JaCorey Brooks. Plus we actually have some TEs who aren't converted LBs and an OC who might actually be interested in using them (Amari Niblack is someone to watch).
It's not a blockbuster WR room of household names, but there's a lot of talent there who have time to prove themselves. I think after this weekend we'll have a lot better idea of whether the WRs are a strength or weakness, which is why I specifically only said they have speed, and that if Texas is gonna gameplan to let their DBs cover them 1-on-1 then they leave themselves vulnerable to deep balls and I think Milroe showed last week he can hit those pretty well.
This is not Sarkisan first time facing Kevin Steele. The advantage is favoring Texas. If Alabama gets behind by 2 scores it's over
Texas fan here. The "Texas Coming Back Tour" gets derailed for a while, Alabama 35, Texas 17. Texas should have beat them last year when they had the chance.
They would’ve if Bama hadn’t played dirty.
@@tangofett4065cope
Bama aint scoring 35. Youve lost your mind
Yeah, 15 penalties.. Absolute garbage coordinators and home field advantage.. That was probably their shot.
@@notpoliticaljustarealist3969Bama’s OL is a bunch of 4* and 5*s that outweighs every NFL OL, some stud RBs, and a QB who is the best athlete on either team. Texas is going to get gashed on the ground, and will give up some shots too.
I think it will be close! I think both defenses are great! I really think it will depend on QB play! I sure hope Texas wins! 31-27
Bama at home at night will be too tough for the Longhorns. Bama run game + new clock rules = Bama rolls.
Also, this Bama team appears to be a lot more disciplined and probably won’t shoot itself in the foot with a bunch or penalties or have a lot of miscommunication.
@@bluemarlin8138y’all played middle Tennessee state bruh… don’t get too high on your horse.
@@bluemarlin8138 Not saying you’re wrong, but do you not think Texas has improved from last year? More experienced O-Line and QB, better receiver room, and more depth in the front seven. Also Alabama fans don’t want to acknowledge the fact that they lost a heisman quarterback and the best pass rusher in college football. Milroe looked good last week, but this is his first real test, meanwhile Ewers has played multiple high stake games. Because of that Alabama absolutely has to win in the trenches. Given the Tides history I’d assume that’s probably going to happen but this idea that Alabama’s just going to start rolling everyone up again bc Golding is gone is absurd

Pre-season I was a bit confident TX could win outright in this game. After what I saw in game 1 against Rice that O-line has me very worried now. You nailed Josh. Until you didn't... I picked Bama too like most people. A thought: The more time that passes since Kirby left, the more Saban misses him? A steady downward trend, particularly since the number of players recruited and coached by Kirby at Bama diminished? Was Kirby Saban's X factor? Been with him about everywhere too, right? Did Kirby just develop and get more out of his defenses? I think maybe so. And if it is so, wow how good must Kirby Smart be at coaching defenses because Saban is revered for it? And if that is true, then based on the overall program Kirby has built and the success it has had, then Kirby just may be, today, the better overall coach. There’s only one player on Texas’s roster that’s actually trying to make Texas “back,” and that’s big T’Vondre Sweat at nose guard. He’s an NFL guy, and he could give Alabama’s interior line some issues. However, I’m not a believer in Texas’s offense at all. They’re talented, sure, but they might be some of the laziest players I’ve ever seen. They play like they think they’re better than everyone, and they’re not. This is why they can’t win big games. I’d be surprised if Alabama lets them score more than 13 with the defense they have this year. This matchup reminds me a lot of the Georgia/Tennessee game last year. They come in to Athens thinking that they’re all that, and they get the world’s largest piece of humble pie. This will be no different. I think Milroe plays well and has his breakout game as a passer. I’ve got Bama winning 31-13.
“They play like the think they’re better than everyone else” 🤣🤣🤣 what the hell.. who wouldn’t play that way. That Texas hate is weird af
Is that how they played when they absolutely worked Bama all day last year at the LOS?
@@benjaminfinley9314This Bama team is much more physical than the 2022 edition due to en emphasis on the run game and run defense, improved tackling, and different schemes. O’Brien and Golding were soft and undisciplined, and it showed in the way the team played. They’re gone now, and so is that style of play. Get ready for Texas to be the ones getting worked.
Well, the last time they played Georgia and Bama, they came away with the Big W.
@@jamesarp3382 Yep. I was wrong
Josh… What do you think about this Saban/Prime secret plan… Saban at 71yrs coaches 3 more yrs after this season and retires at 74-75 y/o hopefully after winning 1-2 more natty. Then he hand picks Coach Prime from Colorado to succeed him at Bama. I think this more likely than going to NFL. Prime succeeds a retiring Saban at Bama in 2027. Remember, Coach Kelly told us they’re more alike. Bama would be getting Saban standards with some swag! Thanks🙏🏾
24-21 Texas. Hook’em!!!
if ewers gets hot, bama will just deliver another dirty hit on him
Sacking tf out of someone isn’t dirty. It’s football, and it’s Dallas Turner’s job to get after him.
This sounds a lot like, " Yea, but what would have happened if Colt didn't get hurt?"
I think if Quinn struggles sark makes the game decision like Bama did to uga and put Murphy in at qb1 or an injury and it completely destroys Bama gameplan and the new style catered to Murphy a style which has been shown only in glimpses at the college level surprises the home crowd and sucks out the energy I think that is a very possible but granted unlikely scenario
I’m hoping that happens I just wanna see Malik Murphy take over man he looks solid
@@Swazified why does it matter? I'm rooting for Ewers to dominate since he is the one having to start.
Is Arch not the backup??
If MM plays, then Texas will have the highest paid QB backups in history.
Taking bama because Texas aren’t good till 3rd wyatte once they get rolling there good but if bama comes out hot they win
Bama fan here. I think it is going to be like the Georgia vs Bama game in 2020. Close at half, then Bama pulls off.
Final Score:
Bama 45
Texas 31
Sadly mistaking my friend, Texas will win Saturday
Pate taking us on a mental roller coaster of scenarios 😂 Tuscaloosa will be on fire
On fire.. not so much!!🤣🤣
Don’t y’all think that DKR isn’t the exact same environment?? Give me a break! 🤣🤣🤣
@@austintexas5347 that's adorable.Enjoy it while it lasts, cause you all are strong, I'll give you that but y'all can't sustain the success Bama has since 2009.Texas is talented but overall as steady as a stack of milk crates...We will pass you all later on in the year, that winning feeling won't last much longer,so by all means,Enjoy it
@@mud72it’s okay to cope bud do it all you need.
@@Waywardfolk ok now, that's pretty much what I am doing 😂,you can see through my cries for help in regards to Bama 😂hope Sark keeps them boys ready to continue winning, throughout the season.Take care Wayward🏈
Auburn fan here: Texas is going to get absolutely destroyed. Sark doesn’t inspire men. Good play caller, but that’s it.
24-17 Bama
Glad I didn’t listen to this before the game
I put my money on Texas
Because Texas is better at every level except maybe secondary
I got to go with Bama for the running game. Better OL, good RBs, and a running qb.
The TX run defense is a huge strength. You'll learn these names tonight: Sweat, Collins, Murphy, Broughton, Burke
Better OL is wild
Texas Dline can’t hold up. By mid-3rd quarter, Texas Dline will whither.
That depends on how well the Texas offense performs.
Bama is gonna lock those longhorns down Saturday night. Bama too much this year, they’ve got something to prove and they’ve heard too much talking. 34-17 Bama.
Either Texas barely wins, or Texas gets their ass kicked
Exact same thing was said last year
@@Mark-zx2bq Better squad this year overall especially on defense. In Bryant Denny at night, gonna be very hard to stay with Bama. Might be close for the 1st Quarter or so but bama will end up pulling away. Just my prediction
@@Mark-zx2bq Maybe Texas wins by 20, who knows. College football is so unpredictable
Do you honestly think Texas hasn't improved as well? It's a two-way street.
Not really worried about jalen key we still got earl little jr,story, pope, Mitchell, and of course davante smith coming back from injury
95% of Bama's problems (Gol*ing and BOB) are gone. Bama is going to dominate in the trenches and win by at least 2 scores.
Bana 45 Texas 21
Oops
@@TexboyGamer I was wrong. It’s a tough pill to swallow. Saban has lost his edge and had no business sticking with Milroe. He’s not a QB and I said it after the aTm game last year. He should have transferred and not wasted everyone’s time.
@@arubial1229 Alabama fans need to realize that maybe Milroe is the best QB on campus and Alabama is in a dire situation
👍
I expect Alabama to LANK up and impost their will!! The secondary will keep everything in front of them and unload on guys (murder ball). Can Quinn Ewers go on the road in front of a 100,000 plus and be patient enough to take what is given to him?
Yes he cab
Keep in mind that was the most poorly executed game maybe ever for Alabama under Saban, and they still found a way to win. The tide will roll and win by 17.
Texas didn’t even have their qb and y’all won by 1 point, and you wanna talk about Tennessee or LSU? When the lights were the brightest, Bama disappointed
@@joeyholskey706 next man up. Bama has injuries all the time and nobody gives them any pity. I’ll be back next Sunday and we will see how bright the lights were then.

WOW, how high are the expectations at Alabama? Last year they were 11-2 and finished 5th in the nation and people are
questioning "Does Nick Saban still have the fastball?" Most schools would build a statue of a coach with his record.
Only on ESPN? That sucks
