Back in high school I had a 1965 Ford Econoline pickup that was nearly mint. What an outstanding vehicle it turned out to be. That Elva is a good looking car.

Those Autumn colours are vibrant in the sunlight. Great car by the way. It's always interesting to see your latest project.

Great to see some older American cars with a useful commentary. They certainly have some style, but are largely unknown here in Europe, so good to learn what they are and how you guys feels about them. Fairlanes and Galaxies I recognise from British saloon car racing in the sixties, and I can spot the back of a Chevy Impala with those amazing light clusters from miles away, but would love more of your vids from local US car meets with your fascinating commentary…

That was fun yes and your little toy car is so cute ha ha ha ha watching it pull out of the parking lot and being dwarfed by all these other vehicles was a good perspective

That quick clean made a real difference to the car. The Elva seemed to behave itself on the trip to the meet so the mice have thankfully not done too much damage to the wiring and so on. Yes some great cars there for the meet, I loved the old Chevvy so good to see it in it's original state. You mentioned the 'Fox bodies' being hard to find now. My understanding is they were more prone to rust than some cars of the same era, correct me if I am wrong but I can say that I have rarely seen one here in the UK if at all. Thanks for taking us along to the Cars and Coffee meet Steve. 👍👍

I don't think it was the rust that took them out, like Miatas are popular road race cars, the Fox body Mustangs were popular drag race cars and many of them were wrecked or ruined racing by now.

Steve, the Elva looks like it will be a fun car. Quite the find! Was the Cars and Coffee at the Ford dealer yesterday (Sunday)? I was at Lowes on Saturday and I did not see anything going on.

Don't know how you guys do it - a Race car on the street, with race exhaust and no plates - the LEO's in the UK would have a field day with you, if here!

It's one of the perks of living in Iowa. I've pulled motorcycle frames off of a trash pile and have been able to restore them with non-matching engines and get a bonded title and get them back on the road somewhat easily. It's gotten more annoying needing to have a notarized bill of sale when registering vehicles but still doable. You do need license plates and an up to date registration here, but I've run vintage plates on multiple vehicles (incorrectly) and the police don't care if you're obviously just out enjoying an old vehicle and you have the real ones with you. You also have to have active liability insurance. But you can pretty much cobble together steel fence posts, wheels, and an engine and get it titled in this state if you know the right people to stamp your paperwork. We don't have any emissions inspections.
