can i just say i am loving this Jay vs gamernexus OC showdown the light hearted jabs and banter has made for some great content. Also using your platform and viewership to promote Steve and his team and all the work they do is really great to see
Agree totally! This is some of the best content that's come out, and I'm loving both of them even more so because of it. I came more as a Gamers Nexus fan, but I've been checking (and subbed now) to Jay as well. Seem like two cool dudes and I can't wait for the face to face. Also nice that this is a fun comp and not some kind of wannabe RUclips drama thing. A+ guys!

you cant unofficially do 4 way with turing, nvlink is borked on the consumer cards to only allow a max of 2

Who is this famous kingPin guy? And why do they keep saying this is just for fun until the real OC guys start to do their OC benchmark. What more do does real OC guys do to a gpu that Jay's and the other RUclips'rs have not done to the gpu to get such high score lol??
Kingpin works with EVGA and create a Kingpin Edition of the top tier graphics cards so basically Kingpin is getting his own cards. They have a different PCB with more VRMs and stuff so you can go higher with voltage and power draw. He then does a shunt mod (that's increases / removes the power limit) and he freezes the GPUs and probably the CPU with liquid nitrogen. Oh, some kind of magic is also involved.

The highlight of my day is getting home to find another post on this friendly and competitive competition between them. I tinker with OCing but as you guys explain your process as you make changes to your systems it is very informative. Loving these videos guys! What takes the real overclockers so long to get into this race?
all their shit has to be custom made for LN2 don't forget 2GPU's and the CPU and they may do quite a bit of testing 1st it may not be that easy
I would imagine most everyone does benching offline and saves all the results waiting for someone to upload first then they just upload results only if they get beat. Never Lead with your best score, gotta size up the opponent

Yeah I left a reply about that - and disabling audio hardware, disconnecting/disabling network hardware during the test, peripherals, lowering background task IO priority, and some background process individual threads memory page priority... could also try game mode and a few other shenanigans... like killing the explorer shell during the test and disabling DWM experience options like animation, drop shadow, etc.
It's fun watching you and Steve play "just the tip" while waiting for Kingpin to come along and knock the bottom out.

Never thought I would see 2 cards manage 15k without LN2. This generation is insane. Meanwhile I am sat in the UK waiting another week for my 2080ti. Funny thing is at this point that I can actually afford another one. (Not that I will buy it though, got Intel 9th gen to look forward to) I've had enough time in between ordering my first one to have had 3 more pay days. Jesus this is taking a while.

That and my day job is that of an After Effects editor. I play with some pretty nice Quadro's at work and would like something that's at least comparable at home to test new ideas on. Not that I will ever be able to pay for a Quadro.

AMD isn't even trying to get in the games space competition these days. They are content taking back good market share for productivity users based on reasonably priced CPU and moderately performing GPU. They allow for productivity monsters at a reasonable price that can reasonably game as a secondary objective
