Watercooling does have benefits, but an AIO is gonna underperform compared to air cooling or a custom loop. LTT even has a video covering that fact. Not gonna deny that it is way cooler to look at and a huge radiator lets you cool quieter, but it's not cost effective or the most thermally efficient.
I know it's sexist, but in this case, it's very true. I think I'd have the more dude approach in this competition though. I would have considered giving no tips / vague tips so I could be faster. I would feel bad for the slower one and eventually help out, only after I won though. We wouldn't want a competitor be unable to finish. But I wouldn't want to lose either.

Honestly these both builds are much worse than Verge's. They didn't even work and both had potential to fry hardware, due to stuff being not plugged in correctly. Sure, Verge's build isn't great, but at least it worked.
I so feel for them when they are just so confused from the beginning and would just help each other out. And part of me do think that in general, like all things tech is sometimes so intimidating already, even in a competition, you can't help but help each other a bit, just because that would be the only way to solve it LOL So I love that dynamics

@nhac lly That was my first thought too. AIO is kind of an advanced cooling method. Most newbies start out with air cooling which can be challenging on its own depending on the mounting method and whether or not the heat-sink has thermal paste or they have to apply it before separately.

Honestly these both builds are much worse than Verge's. They didn't even work and both had potential to fry hardware, due to stuff being not plugged in correctly. Sure, Verge's build isn't great, but at least it worked.

@nhac lly That was my first thought too. AIO is kind of an advanced cooling method. Most newbies start out with air cooling which can be challenging on its own depending on the mounting method and whether or not the heat-sink has thermal paste or they have to apply it before separately.
