I was telling a co-worker that Yasiel Puig might be an even better bat-flipper than Rickey; then I watched this video and was reminded once again that Rickey is, indeed, the greatest of all time.
I loved him as a Padre (twice). He aged gracefully. When Tony Gwynn said the oldest guy gets the 'front seat in the bus', Rickey said no... That was Tony's seat. Then Rickey, sitting on 2999 hits, said he'd sit out because it was Tony's final day in uniform. Tony told Rickey to get his ass out there and get #3000. And Rickey did!

Another bus story: somebody told Rickey "hey you got tenure, kick that rookie out of your seat". Rickey said "tenure? I got 15 years!"
He'd probly get plunked in his next at-bat if he were breaking into the game today. Shame really, Rickey had swag.
