My good friend went to spring training in Arizona. Henderson started and played the usual four innings. He stripped down to his shorts and under jersey and flip flops and walked the stands, stopping and talking to fans. He signed autographs, posed for pictures, talked to the kids until the end of the sixth inning. That was the type of man he was.
@@TempeSoldier123 No Olerud said it wasn’t true, and he’s tried to correct it for years. Read Howard Bryant’s 2022 biography of Rickey, page 345. According to Olerud, the story was made up as a locker room joke by a trainer Scott Lawreson.
Ricky Henderson and Marshawn Lynch are both alumni of the same high school….how legendary is that.
Pretty cool but Lynch isn't in Rickey's stratosphere. Rickey is arguably a top 10 mlb player ever and inarguably the best leadoff guy.
Ricky simply *is* a run. His very existence is a run.
Rickey is unintentional funny which is the best kind.
Olerud once did an interview and said it wasn’t true. Even explained that it was a Mariners assistant coach who made it up.

Calling an MLB Team GM late in his career, " This is Rickey...calling on behalf of Rickey.......RICKEY WANTS TO PLAY BASEBALL"
😂
Rickey with a pitch timer is unfair. I mean, come on.
EveryBody . . . . . .
even Rickey Henderson thinks that Rickey is The MLB 🐐G.O.A.T.🐐
Rickey had swag before it was called swag. Hate that word btw. Poppin collars and stuntin.
The olerud story is not true.
The Olerud story is NOT true.
The million dollar check story and the bus “tenure” story are true.
Know your facts Passan.
The Olerud story is true, because Olerud was the one who told it.
Thank you!!! Olerud story not true!!! Read his biography!
Olerud said the story is true, but I guess you’d know better than him, huh?
