Overwhelming is a too normal thing in Sri Lanka. Actually its not fake, it’s coming from the heart, most of people are very genuine but few bad ones also as like other countries. ❤

Yes, the word Sri is hard to say. It's actually pronounced Shri. Everyone that I know of also say Siri Lanka. That includes Pakistanis, Chinese, Romanians, French, Russians etc.
Some years ago the then-president even contemplated changing it for good. I made this comment to benefit others. Hope you have a wonderful stay in Sri Lanka.

You can visit Negombo city because it's a beautiful city in western Srilanka. There have beautiful beaches, seafood, different kind of fish, and a boat tour as well as you can get a huge experience in Negombo. I hope you will visit Negombo city.
I've been at this temple not long ago with a friend of mine whoum she is from Srilanka and they should charge you only 400 rupees each for entry like everybody else the price charged !!!

When in sri lanka .. act like you know it all & walk as if your meeting friends .. feeling extra sympathetic & pauseing to listen too much could lead to unnecessary issues.. esp in the commercial centres ... as everyones busy & a certain some will try & slip through if possible..
