    I tip my hat off. lot's of blood and sweat in terms of engineering as well as lot's of work with accounting and many other department's. this was a love dream made into reality a game changer with so much work in terms of material engineering fluid dynamics and weigt management. this car is top level and stands' toe to toe with any car porshe ferrari and skips past bmw and audi. I am not a gm fan but repect any brand that makes a good car and this car is a gift at 120k net alone one with the z51 package and a few upgrades for just 60k. 5k more than a bmw 335i for a way better more in line with a 911s pdk shich the vette beats and smokes a 911 manual. I am proud to see gm do this now tricle this effort to other cars like the malibu and not just cadilac and u will dominate.

    What is a "mid engine front mount"? Did you just make that up??

  • @makstone

    Mid engine is when the engine is behind the front/rear centerline of the car but ahead of the rear axle line.

    Not what you mean but I think the C7 is like my FD with the engine behind the front wheels centers which is mid engine. They tested one in the 70 with a V8 and GM's massive rotary.

    Great video! And a nice guy, really knows the car inside & out. I have a ZR1 that I'm in love with. I'm not crazy about the looks of this car. The rear facia especially. But I am interested in the electronic diff integrated into the suspension. This is the same equipment that way more expensive cars use. I'd like to get a look at an LT1 block. I don't see myself deactivating cylinders to often.

    Usually Corvette and Viper just focused on performance and not luxury. Notice both Vetts and Vipers are increasing luxury. Good thing they already have the performance down. Poor Ferrari had such bad performance they had to use General Motors MRC they designed for Cadillac's traction and suspension!

    • @thatabu
      @thatabu 10 лет назад

      Delphi developed the magnetorheological suspension while it was not even a part of GM. Yeah keep on boasting about the same thing over and over again like everybody else. Just think about how many innovations the Americans use in their cars that were developed by European companies. The ZR1 uses the same carbon-ceramic brakes that the 11-year-old Ferrari Enzo has. The modern automobile itself was invented by Karl Benz, a German. If it wasn't for Europe, you'd still be riding horses.

    • @SuperWhitesnake1

      thatabu Wasn't Delphi a subsidiary of GM? Pretty sure they were.

    • @SuperWhitesnake1
      @SuperWhitesnake1 10 лет назад

      thatabu Well, the 2003 Corvette 50th anniversary edition came out in 2003. And it had the MSRC shocks. According to the article at www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2011/03/31/gms-divorce-from-delphi-is-final/ Delphi was still part of them in 2003. GM owned. I used to work for GM.

    • @thatabu
      @thatabu 10 лет назад +1

      The point is, the endless bragging about MagneRide is getting ridiculous proportions. It's as if you guys invented the wheel. There are tons and tons of stuff patented in Europe that are used in American vehicles. Most innovations in road cars have in fact been introduced in F1 first. As we all know, there is not a single American team in that motorsport.

    They figure that the EPA ratings tend to overstate fuel economy bad enough as it is. That number is really a fleet rating number and it wouldn't be accurate to score the fleet based on what it could do if everyone were driving around in ECO mode.

    Just wait for a head to head video where the Vette smashes a boxter. I've seen the video you posted before, and the reason the times are so slow is because there is no traction. Any car will be slow 0-60 if you're spinning the tired for 20 feet. GM posted times are under ideal conditions, as are any other manufacturer's 0-60 times.

    My biggest gripe with this car is it still has less passenger legroom than the driver side. It seems like they would have changed that. You can't even have a girl in the passenger seat with long legs. If they gave it more legroom on the passenger side it would be perfect, but I guess Vette designers hate tall people?
