Idk why I found 14:30 to 14:45 is so funny to me. He was talking about minimal and then Noz comes in with the exact opposite 😂
Please.
Who is rendering these for them?
Noz's room is where your fun aunt throws dinner parties. Mandy's is where your family eats a wholesome meal every night, and Erick's is for rich millenials that only use the room to gossip and drink wine in LMAO
I'm the aunt! Lol. I love Noz!
There are no rich millennials 🥲
@@kaylameredith8712 this painful truth 😢
@@kaylameredith8712 except the millennials who showcase their entire lives being funded by their parents living in nyc 💀💀
This is it!
It would be really nice in this series if they each could say how much their rooms cost. Not only to see the difference of the design but the price difference as well.
Ikr? Sometimes these designers are like “I really think redoing all the walls in Italian marble would tie the room together. And can the floor be cedar and sandalwood instead of oak?”
the point of the series is not to be realistic. Just listen to the intro
This series is about creativity with no restrains, a budget will ruin it
@@clarafernandes4590 it's not assigning a budget or any constraints for the creative process- just sharing what it would cost at the end to put it together
@@clarafernandes4590 the room is a restraint.. creativity doesn't exist without constraints
Erick’s was calm, Mandy’s was practical, and Noz’s was creative. You need a little bit of them all imo.
This..
Eh no, pink jacket girl created a space where fever nightmares take place. 100% likelihood of killing yourself if you have to stay in that room for more than an hour
Somebody ruined a lovely project with a serial killer chandelier. Oh well.
Edit: now that I've gone beyond the thumbnail I reckon that no, that wasn't lovely to start with. Geez! Wherever all those "pieces of furniture" are being manufactured, someone should issue a law against them. These guys need an aesthetics police patrolling around their studio.
Each one was too busy but I like the guy's best. The round table works better but oh, dear. They all need to start over. The round table great, the outdoors great, but the rest of the ideas --- OUCH.
you call that creative that wallpaper is ugly all those art pieces look out of place
The thumbnails are obviously nice, but they take away the element of surprise. I think it would be better not to show the designs like that.
Edit: Thanks for changing the thumbnails 😉
I agree 100%!
Thumbnail = views
Couldn’t agree more!!
100%
Agreed! They can easily blur it
I love the cut from Erick saying he wants subtle lighting that you don't even focus on - to Noz who puts up a giant monstrosity of a chandelier made up of hands holding ligh balls 😂
It just took over !
I somehow felt the hands where more subtle than lights in eye level over the table lol
@@becac1655 I’d definitely be looking at the closest thing to the dining table before the walls tbh. I agree.
i love that every designer wanted to embrace the outdoor space by changing out the small windows, but it's so interesting to see all their different takes on it!
And one assumes the door went outside but another assumes it went into the house!
That was interesting. I like hearing their thought processes.
I was thinking that a formal, dedicated dining room for me is a hunkering down place, though, where family and friends hopefully will linger over Sunday dinner or holiday meals. So cozy, inviting, and comfortable would be the vibe. I live in a cool, rainy place so that would be the goal.
If I’d seen a big patio with barbecue and tables outside the dining room window in a sunnier climate, then opening up the windows as a door would be logical, but the brief didn’t show that. I guess you get to “make your own ending.” lol
I found it interesting that they all wanted to embrace the exterior and accomplished that by making their interior designs so hideous that you wanted to run screaming out the door.
@@pw2035 Bwaha! 😂
I think that Erick’s is gorgeous, but Mandy’s is the most warm, functional and welcoming room hands down.
Ericks room has the most beautiful doors, I am in love with his chairs, but overall, his room seems too empty and cold to me.
And elegant too. I would choose Mandy's.
Their clothes choices go with their room choices.
I absolutely love what Noz did with her walls. It feels almost cottage core, but is offset by her courageous furniture choices. Mandy's room is the room that feels the most approachable and realistic to me, but I really don't like her wallpaper choice, although I really appreciate her use of colour. Ericks room has the most beautiful doors, I am in love with his chairs, but overall, his room seems too empty and cold to me.
I agree with you on all of your points!! Noz's walls were the star and outshone everyone else at that point and I thought her design would turn out so harmonious, but as the rooms progressed, the potential turned into chaos.
Eric’s room appeals to me the most but all the hard surfaces would bounce sound around. There is nothing to soften it.
I agree with all your points! I think Noz's would have been more balanced if the chairs were a neutral color
Noz room looked ugly
Noz casually placing a window where a door is and pretending there wasn't a room on the other side lol.
But in all seriousness, her room is easily my favourite of the three.
The plans showed its an external door. She's a genius, I think. I loved her room!
Noz is always shouting out so many cool artists and I love it
Noz is so bold and daring, at least someone takes those chances
Love all 3 but honestly, like some of the other videos in this series, I kinda wish that the designers are completely restricted to design within the walls. I think it’s better for us viewers to take inspirations from this when they are not allowed to basically redesign the house. Knocking down main walls, changing windows or even adding an entire hallway feels so unrealistic . In another video, one designer even relocated the home from a wooded area to a hill top beach front property and added a revolving wall plus an open skylight ceiling. So ridiculous. I know plenty of wealthy clients do asks for these changes but I feel like we’re truly able to see their interior design skills from how different they transform a simple room while being restricted within the walls and not allowed to make structural or architectural changes. I think that’s more entertaining.
I thought the same thing at first, but honestly I feel like it’s nice for designers to be able to share their full vision without the constraints of “reality” or the “every day”. I definitely think I would be a nice challenge on one or two videos (or a separate
Series) but it’s refreshing to see creatives be creatives and let their vision come to.
I agree! This doesn’t feel like 3 designers transforming the same room - it feels like 3 designers transforming some random rooms.
But the point of these is that there are no rules…
@@huntere6684 I get you. I love seeing it as well, my favourite being Noz’s signature whimsical fairytale approach. I just feel like it would be nice to see how a professional creative, some of the best in their field, would problem solve the same constraints and physical limitations that us viewers have, and struggle to solve, without having to “suspend reality”.
@@ariannaf.6130 yes I know that but I wished the “no rules” only applied within the boundaries of the walls. Like they can do whatever they want as long as they don’t change the main structures, i.e. the walls, window locations, etc.
Minus the wallpaper, Mandy’s is my favourite! All it needs is more gold/brass & velvet. Noz’s is so much fun, not sure if I could comfortably eat in such a visually overstimulating space though. I’m a maximalist at heart, so Erik’s room feels very cold & sterile to me - not sure where the warmth is meant to come from?
I think Erik's room would have felt so much more balanced if he had just added a big rug in a warm colour under the table.
@@juliaandersson7479 I think it would have helped, but more would be needed to invite warmth into his room.
I loved Erik's project the most. One of my favourite series on this channel, they always come up with something unexpected.
Ericks room has the most beautiful doors, I am in love with his chairs, but overall, his room seems too empty and cold to me.
What’s Erick’s Instagram? I’m from Brazil and I love too Erick’s projects ❤

I really liked the examples of Noz Nozawa's work in the beginning but man her design is weird. I would go insane in that room
She does that , in other videos too.. I love her approach generally.. but .. near the end, she always does too much.. or at least some element of the room ,I end up not agreeing with.. but overall love it.
I wouldn't be able to eat my meal
Too much information at the same time. That chandelier in a dinning room... Nauseating.
I think if the wallpaper is changed to a more calming design it would make the room easier on the eyes.
that room was too overwhelming, too many ideas trying to come into one.
Noz’s room is a lot, but I do really love it. There’s a fun about that space that makes the size seem less intimidating. Easily my favorite, hands down; and if I didn’t need to clean all those fingers, I would have this room.
Mandy’s feel more like something I would have for a formal family space, large and open, can fit everyone into the room for Xmas. The kind of space that can be used all year round and opened up for larger gatherings, loose parties, or warm evenings for bbqs.
Eric’s…I dunno, it feels colder, more formal and grand, less personal, a gorgeous space but not somewhere I would really relax, even for a meal. I would absolutely use the space as a dining room for formal and business meals, but I don’t think I would intentionally enter without needing to do something related to those formal occasions; like setting the table or prepping the space.
This time my favorite is Noz. She created such an inspiring and happy room! She made the room looks brighter and even bigger. I also love the interior objects she choose. But to all three artists: Each of your rooms were really well done!
Liked Erick's and Mandy's designs. They seemed to have color, texture, and innovative ideas mixed with practicality. Sorry, but Noz's design was too focused on designer stuff (which is not always the best) and not practical.
More of this series, please!
totally agree! I feel like she wanted to throw in as much designer stuff as possible
@Zoe Rubenstein that’s true but I worry she might get some compensation for her “references”
Eric reads the room. He connects to it and makes it amazingly functional, accessible and beautiful.
I loved the warm concrete floor with the panelled roof. That really sparse, clean look doesn't usually do it for me, but something about his design really clicked.
Noz’s design aesthetic is next level. She is an artist.
Right?! She took it a little too over the top for me (saying a lot cause I am over the top) but I lovvvved it! Had my doubts in the beginning but she was by far my favorite!....although I could do without her lighting choices lol
That chandelier is outright cringe AND horrible.
Too eclectic. It's too busy and nothing really matched.
notice how all of their design styles match their personality and outfits in a way
I was taught that a good design will stand the test of time. I think that Erick's design is the only one that will.
"Test of time" basically means classic, but there is a lot of great design that is not classic.
I think these design challenges are more of an exercise in creativity, unbound by practical concerns. Yes, in the real world, a good design will stand the test of time. However- in the world of this AD series, the point is to have fun and feel inspired. And hopefully inspire a few people who are watching along the way to take a risk and be bold.
Erick's chairs look sooooooooo UNCOMFORTABLE to linger over a meal sitting on!
That way of thinking brings things in too practical of a light, design can just be a fun creative moment, a singular expression that can elicit an emotional response rather than evaluating whether its "good" or "bad", thinking about future proofing your space is one reason American homes have become so homogeneous
It depends on the person really. If I was a client I would not choose his design. It’s good, but it’s not my style. In real life what should be considered foremost in interior design is always the comfortability and style of whoever lives in the house.
Erik is the winner for me. I was sold from the minute he put those doors and the hallway with the plant...interest officially peaked as to what is around that corner. Welcome back NOZ!
Naz seems like a fun person who I could definitely hang out with and be good friends. However, she could never decorate any part of my home😂 It almost seemed as if she has a garage full of crap that she’s trying to get rid of. From those hand sconces to the hands chandelier it was crazy. 😍😍
Or she’s marketing stuff. The Meghan Markle of interior design. 😂
This is the first video ever that I see of this channel, but those hands... A serial killer would be happy, or maybe design those hmmmm
@@drummerlovesbookworm9738 y'all are so obsessed with that woman!! For someone y'all claim to hate she lives in your head and on your tongues RENT FREE!! lmfao
@@hazelbasil6451 Such a trite comment! You clearly have no original thoughts and don’t care a whit about the long term effects of what is going on in society. Hopefully, nobody who will be living in the future is counting on you.
I love getting inside of the vision and reasoning behind her and the others' designs, and this always has the most value to me here. But yeah, that chandelier looked like a dismembered Muppet.
This is my favorite series ever
Erick is the winner in my book. Love, love, love everything he did! ❤
Erick’s was v cold and hotel like, Noz’s was very overwhelming with that wall paper while Mandys was cozy, soothing, practical and very inviting
Noz designed the perfect dining room for your rich, eccentric aunt. I think it's fun and interesting, but not something that most people would want. Like if you came over for a dinner party every now and then you'd enjoy yourself, but if it was any more than that you'd just be overwhelmed. If that makes any sense.
Basically if I saw it in a magazine I'd adore it, but if this was what I came home to everyday, I wouldn't be delighted.
I think that was the point.. no client , no budget etc..
I love all three designs.. except for Noz's chandelier..
And I like thar she is self aware that it might be too much for some people .. 😜
Super design.. but overestimating for me..
I'm the eclectic aunt! Lol. I love her.
Erick, you killed it. Such a beautiful clean calming space, and I love the Japandi elements. You’ve got talent my friend!
Noz honestly transcends the boundaries of interior design. As someone in the design field each time I'm blown away with how she thinks outside of the box. She doesn't create livable spaces, rather, she creates art.
She creates a mess of ideas lol
@@James-kg7rv well it’s maximalism so that’s kind of the point. Every decision she makes still has a clear creative direction and part of a story. May not be yours or my preferred aesthetic but it’s much more unique than the ultra modern muted million dollar homes we’ve seen a million times on this channel
@@evanevan-gx3dj it’s unique and I can see some appeal. I definitely don’t like the overly bland or muted trends either. But Noz’s designs fall flat in the last few decisions. It goes from unique and provoking to messy.
@@James-kg7rv ok I respect that but I guess I disagree since I find her eye for eclectic decor and furniture pieces pretty fascinating. The choice for flooring, wallpaper and pendants were impressive in my opinion but to each their own!
Take a drink every time the Valley girl says I'm obsessed.
It’s refreshing to see some different designers on here, love seeing the different ideas
Love love love Erik's design- so airy, breathable, serene and organic. I love all the negative space he's allowed in his design for the key pieces to stand out, that's genius.
So agree ;-) That serene room makes me feel relaxed just by starring at it on my screen. I actually imaged myself sitting there on that beautiful table in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching the squirrels play in that garden.
Ericks room has the most beautiful doors, I am in love with his chairs, but overall, his room seems too empty and cold to me.
Noz always has so much fun with her designs, it’s a joy to watch her create imo.
I think it's so funny when interior designers accept these challenges and then immediately change things that, realistically, a lot of people wouldn't be able to change (like windows). Of course it's super easy to design the room when you're not even really sticking with the challenges that come with the room LOL
You would hate Lula's designs then
Well yes but there are no restrictions. So one might think you’d change things
Exactly this.
Let's add the nicest view, I picture a lush valley and we add sliding doors to the pool area....
Job done 👏🙄
yeah but I think that's kinda the point of the challenge, they have absolutely no limits so they can see where their imagination takes them. having a restriction makes it more practical, yes, but it doesn't have to be practical, this basically just serves as an outlet to express their style.
@@tarahoffman5318 this 👏🏽
Erik he’s one of the best designers and he didn’t disappoint 👌🏾👌🏾
Oo the different styles they picked really transformed the space, brings totally new vibes
Omg. The design by Noz is absolutely horrendous! 😱
So far, my favorite panel of designers on this series so far!! 🤩 Love that we brought Noz back!
In love with Erick's design 🤎 Very sophisticated and contemporary.
They all had at least one thing I loved and would do in my own home. For me personally I liked Mandy's overall design the most.
Erik nailed it. Such a vibe.
Erick's room is amazing. It speaks to my soul.
"I'm obsessed with this. I'm obsessed with that. I'm totally obsessing over it." Gah.
I feel like they are a character on Schitts Creek but doesn’t realize they are the joke.
@@aliasecho64 LOL, yes!!!!!
absolutely adore the way noz is so bold and daring and i'm always so mesmerized by where she even gets her design from. but that room is so ecclectic that the picture alone is actually triggering something in me that is making me nauseous so i can only imagine how it would be if i'd walk in there. haha! however pieces by pieces, yes girl!
I loved their personalities together. The way their energies bounce off of each other’s They paired well together. Also, Mandy’s design was my favorite. Loved the colors and mid-century feel of it. My two favs
I love the moment when they get to see each other's designs and talk about it! There's a lot of respect and fun between them.
I really loved Mandy & Noz's designs!
Noz's was their typical eclectic whimsy, which I love to love from afar. I can definitely see a kid-free, fun person having that space. I personally think it's too much for me, but it all made sense. I really appreciated those hand sconces and the window frames.
Mandy's was almost spot on for me, except for that wallpaper & mirror (yikes). I would've loved Noz's wallpaper in there instead, tbh. I think it was pretty timeless, as far as modern spaces go and it would fit most people. I also love how practical those doors & furniture were.
Erick's was frankly sad and impractical. Pests in the dining area is not a good look & you better break out the space heaters in the winter, because even in Napa it gets cold. Also, that poor olive tree better be fake, because that thing'll suffer shoved in the corner there. I also wouldn't subject an art piece from an artist I love to the elements like that (museum glass cage for you). It was very Oatmeal Last Supper by way of Anthropologie. There, I said it.
That all being said, each space was very inspired and I think indicative of the designer.
This time we have three different designers. I am glad all three designers decided to keep the beams. But of all the three designers, my first choice would be Mandy's design, the second would be Eric's, and then Noz's. Thanks for sharing designers.
All three did amazing, something unique about everyone’s design. I loved the dog house windows, loved the coziness and color pattern of Mandy’s design, and loved bringing the natural stone into the space
I’m so glad Noz is back!!! She’s so charming and her designs are so fun to look at.
Noz's energy and ideas are so fun and refreshing 😄 I love all these designs! So great.
Each designer made this room look totally different. My favorite was Noz Nozawa's design. I liked it because it was traditional but not fussy and comfortable. They are all very talented designers and I enjoyed this video.
Erick's design is basically a nod to an Italian Villa - 16th Century classic design. Noz's design is basically a nod to an English Tudor dining hall - also 16th century classic design, my absolute favorite. Mandy's reminds me a bit of a child's playroom with a random mix of no particular style, unsophisticated and frankly a bit on the bland side. Art and beauty is in the eye of the beholder but yeah, I gotta say that twisted hands chandelier is a bit disturbing. As always, great design, good ideas and lots of inspiration. A really fun series to watch - thanks, AD!
I like how Noz calls hands holding light balls "subtle" 😂
Girl, your chaotic mind is a psychedelic TRIP!
I would love a room designed by Erick but furnished by Noz? I love Erick's architectural elements, the ceiling, floor, walls, windows and Noz's furniture taste and style would give such a cool new energy and color to those rooms.
Lots of lovely design ides in all 3 but I love Nos’s wallpaper.
Mandy's is the only one that looks remotely lived in. I think a few more restrictions on the designers would actually make for a more interesting series
I think the first designers to do this series are my favorite
that's not the point of this series
Agreed! Some, like Noz, take ridiculous liberties.
Assuming there's an outside behind a indoor door so you can add a window with a view? As an architect, this really irks me.
Noz’s design was so fun & eclectic and Honestly, it was the most fun! A dining room should have character, and it just shows with her design ❤. Erik’s one is pretty good too, but more safe & practical. But, Noz’s design is truly fun especially since so many people always want the same predictable designs. I think making a dining room space fun would make the place more inviting tbh.
A lot of you are complaining about them changing the windows, doors, price. This is literally just creative freedom. Like they said there are no restrictions, no clients just blank space 🤦🏽♀️
Erick's is completely my style. I love clean, airy, minimalistic yet warm spaces. I would feel so at peace in a space like that
I LOVED Noz furniture choices SOOOO MUCH! and I realized how wild I'm ready to be with it. But the wallpaper and the missed opportunity of having some interior-exterior ACTUAL connection (Louvered DOORS or something similar with FULL opening)...also made me realize to what extent and in what I would go a bit crazy with color and opening.
Mandy’s is the best in this video for me🥺
i feel like this time they are all going a lil crazier with their designs 😂
I actually adore what Noz did with this space! Maybe not ideal for everyone but it reminds me of an adult playhouse. And cooking and eating are fun, so boom!
👆👆Thanks for watching and congratulation 🎊you have been selected among my shortlisted winners.
Telegram only to claim your prize 💯🎊
I loved the contrast between Noz's and Erick's designs. Both great in there own world. Though Noz really makes me fall in love with eclectic design style, even though I have a similar style to Erick's.
Pls keep posting this series!!
Omgoodness, Eric beautiful work. If I could afford you would hire you in a heartbeat. Stunning work.
Definitely Erik! ❤Classy, cozy, serene...what I look for in a home.
(Just one flaw....the chairs)
I absolutely loved the Noz design 😍
This was fun! Erick's design is very nice, a little stark especially with the concrete floor, very cohesive except for the art on the wall which is somehow too different. Mandy's is my favorite; not my more traditional style, but very nice color scheme, warm, comfortable, cozy. Looks like people really live there. Noz's is just scary...LOL!
Erick was best and it’s really my dream room. All his ideas works for me.
LOVE Erick's space. Not gonna lie, Noz's space would make me so anxious😂
noz’s room is serving me whimsical, mad hatter vibes…. and im completely here for it!! 😂❤️
This is the first time I find Noz´room the most inviting. There are some things to discuss, e.g. the chandelier. But it´s true, she made the room like a place to stay and enjoy. The other ones make me want to go outdoors.
I love the gentleman’s design. I would just add some greenery inside of the room to complete the look.
Noz’s expressions, mannerisms, and the way she speaks reminds me of Alexis Rose from Schitt’s Creek. I love her energy!
Erick's design reminds me so much of Spanish midcentury, it looks so warm and comforting! I like that his design avoids the over perfection of a lot of modern design
I wouldve changed the door into a fireplace. Added a table platform and used a lower hanging light fixture for a restaurant vibe.
That chandelier from Noz is so gauche for a dining room lol I'm not eating with a hand hovering over my plates 😭😂😂😂
I love the lighting with “balls in the hands” 😜💚✨
i love what Mandy Created. It had colours and class and warmth as well.
The most original element is the Tudor/gothic sorta half-timber design in Noz’s space with herringbone floors. I’d personally design around that in an utterly different way but the architectural statement is
Noz's design is so great! It seems such a fun space.
Noz's room is like a circus tent. Overwhelming. Love the the open doors to outside. Dislike the chairs and stone table. But love the darker ceiling and light walls
I really love this series, love the mixmatched chairs at Mandy's room. I imagine Erick's dining set in Noz's room.
Loved the outcome. All three different.
WOW! I never thought the day would come... THANK YOU Architectural Digest for adding ROOM DIMENSIONS! I have been asking for months now, and you finally added them in!?
I loved Erick's room the most but would have kept the floor. added a centerpiece to the table and added a sleek but warm shelving unit to the back wall by the opening.
Noz’s overtly unapologetic theatricality, could be better suited to set and stage design without the barriers of day to day living.
Erik’s cool, crisp Nordic approach lends a timeless sophistication that effortlessly respects a potential clients needs.
Mandy’s response cleverly delivers a near symbiotic relationship to both aesthetics which gives a lived in appeal.
Erick's space is a great place for a beautiful, lavish meal. It's perfect and classy but unpretentious. Noz's feels like it is so busy that it doesn't leave any creative space left for the cuisine to shine. I think a good dining room has points of interest, but basically serves as a comfortable, fresh "platter" for lavish meals. If the room is too busy and lavish, the food will be drowned out by the decor. I'm not sure a chef would love that dining space for their creations to shine.
Mandy’s design is my favorite followed closely by the guy then closely by the other designer. It’s hard to judge the designers that go “haute couture “ with their designs. You may not do it for yourself but you appreciate the ascetics
I love Nozs designs and her maximalism, has the most create free atmospheres that bring you to another world
In terms of the structure, I'd definitely buy Erick's vision -- he nailed it. Would hire if I had the money :). The furniture: not so much. Not a fan of the travertine table; I'd choose a custom wooden trestle table to match the warm old world feel of the room he created and I'd put in nubby beige upholstered chairs like the Ross Side Chair from Serena and Lily in Perennials Textured Loop - Sea Salt. If I wanted something that felt lighter and more fashion-forward, I'd put in the dining set he did for Maison Trouvaille for the Klein house.
I like Mandy's design most, it's so calm yet stylish. I could see myself in a home with that dining room

This is a great example of ideas very different from my own! I love all the unique elements and choices. We all have our own tastes, so I love being able to view other designs and seeing what I would incorporate in my designs!
Very fun!
Absolutely LOVE the 3 rooms. They explained really well their approach an vision and the results are simply stunning. Also ADORED the exchange at the end! So kind. I bet a mashup of the tree designs would look awesome. ( My personal fav is Noz’s room!)
Noz is back yessssssss
Noz’s design is awesome.. makes me feel so inspired & it’s super eclectic & still cohesive.. I would live in that room
