The new DJI Air 3s is very impressive, the best Air series drone yet. You were able to capture to awesome footage of downtown Austin, and low light footage was especially eye popping. Great review Kelly and Kris, thanks for sharing.
I wasn’t a fan of the bag either due to blades as well. I did some research and found that DJI recommends removing all the blades from the aircraft during storage and rest all for flight. The blades are easy to put on/off, But I wasn’t a fan of that either. I decided to go through all my bags and hard cases and decided to place the aircraft only laying at an 50 to 60 degree angle in one bag. Placing it in a bag by itself at that angle allows for the blades not to have any weight on them meaning zero marks or deformity’s on any blade. Then all the other gear that came with the fly more combo remains and carried in the original bag. A little OCD on my part but I’m sure I’m not the only one with a similar type setup, Good Video!!

I buy StartRC hard cases for all of my drones (the one for the Air 3s will be here in a few days). Gives me a lot more room and can see the drone, controller and batteries all at the same time. The DJI bag goes to the local landfill. All of my drone cases sit together on the floor under my drone workbench very neatly.

Okay, I'm trying to figure out what body parts I'm selling for this new Air 3S Fly More Combo! 🤣This drone definitely is the best of all the latest features of DJI's past lineup excluding the Avatas and the Neo. I need to sell something to get this in my drone hangar. Up to this point my Air 2S and my Mini 4 Pro have been the camera drones I've kept in my hangar and the Avata 2 is my fun goggle-flying drone. Great, positive, detail-oriented review. I like how you hit the little things (gimbal guard, bag) other reviewers don't mention. Seeing as how I never got the Air 3, I base these comparisons on the previous generation Air 2S. While having a versatile dual camera system is nice, the Air 2S was a straight 20mp photo shooter. 12mp/50mp tells me DJI is relying once again on quad bayer technology. Also, while 4k/120fps is good (Air 3S), 5.4k allowed for some great, lossless zooming in post (Air 2S). But, as I fly in low light pretty often (it's near Halloween. I don't DO daylight) the images coming from the Air 3S mop the floor with what comes from the Air 2S. Yes, I'm getting to Air 3S at some point in the near future (now that Texas has hopefully done melting for the season) and I look forward to getting out again.
Thanks, Brian! We also didn't buy the Air 3, but we did have the Air 2s, and Mavic 3. I don't think the photos and videos straight out of the Mavic 3 look this good even though the sensor size is bigger on the Mavic. The Air 3s would be perfect for Halloween shots!

Enjoyed your informative review. Have subscribed to your channel (one of only a few). Watching it helps me cope with the fact that my Air 3s is taking its time getting to me from Hong Kong. Took a full week to get to Cincinnati, OH (330 miles from me), but now it's just sitting there (over 24 hours so far), Tracking says it is having uncontrollable delays (whatever that means). DHL contacted me a few days ago with questions concerning customs, but they were quickly answered and received. I've even spoke with DJI on the phone this morning. They said they would check into it and try to expedite the delivery. I've received hundreds of packages via UPS and dozens with Fed Ex, but never with DHL. Never saw a DHL truck in my area over 20 years. Have received both the Mini 4 Pro and Avata 2 as soon as they were released and didn't see any such delays like with the Air 3s. I hope DHL isn't flying my new drone around their terminal. If DJI comes out with a Mavic 4 Pro, I'll probably be getting that too. Sorry NEO. Don't think I'll ever see you in my collection.

Both JPG and DNG files are 12mp for panoramas. Good question! Thanks for your kind comment. We have 3 main objectives in each video: 1. Be informative and don't waste time. 2. Be genuine and straightforward. If something sucks, say it. 3. Sprinkle in a bit of humor. We don't get the views to make any real money from this, so that makes it tricky to find time to create, but when we do have time, it's all about sharing knowledge and keeping it fun.

Objectivity is hard to come by on YT these days! not surprised by 12mp-only for panos, perhaps they'll roll out a fw update that unlocks that. would be incredible for enlargements! definately glad normal 50mp photos provide DNG though, certainly in the right direction. it's these types of small/detailed questions I've gotten in the habit of asking everytime DJI rolls out a new product. their ships are easy to get excited about, but far too many times I've found myself frustrated with a number of different small details, and knowing those things ahead of time might have changed my decision-making/budgeting etc. great to see a creator here that gets that 👌

Are you referring to 10:55? If so, that is the original Mavic 3 harness and it does not fit on the Air 3s. We were just showing how we wished that DJI could make something similar because we really like it on the Mavic 3. It does not fit on the Air 3s. Thanks for watching!

That one came with the Mavic 3, straight from DJI. It seems like most people didn't like it, so DJI probably changed it out to a standard one, but we thought it was very handy.
I suppose the Mavic 4 will be a lot more expensive, and a little bit better than the Air 3s, but this drone is fantastic. I don't think you should wait.
Community Question. I started flying the mini 2 at work and im considering buying a Dji drone for personal use as well. I definitly can fly but im still working on my photo editing skills and just startet learning adobe premiere. A friend offered me his Mavic Air 2 + Fly more Combo for 300 bucks which is pretty allright compairing it to other uses products plus he only flew it maybe 10 times. So now im trying to figure out if i should start with his 300 bucks offer and switch to the Dji Air 3S once im better at editing or go for the Dji Air 3S straight away. All Opinions appreciated!
The Air 3s is 724g. And the Mini 4 Pro is 292g (using the larger battery). The mini 4 pro can take native vertical photos and videos and can fit on the palm of your hand. The Air 3s is (just by eye) about 1.5 times longer and bigger all around. If travel is your main objective, the mini wins for sure. If quality is the most important, of course the Air 3s takes the win.
The one we showed is only for the Mavic 3, and I don't know if DJI even sells it anymore. Seemed like people complained about it because they changed it to a regular gimbal guard, but we really liked it.
Ill stick with my Air2s( travel Drone) and my Mavic 3 Pro. Maybe in the future, if DJI decides to give us more with the Air series Ill upgrade the Air2s but I am curious to see what the Mavic 4 will offer because I may upgrade if they offer an APSC sensor or a tapped out CMOS 4/3 sensor 👍🏽 Btw the video bitrate on the Air3s is 130mbps while the Mavic 3 series offers 200 mbps, something to think about if you want superior video quality versus “features” 👍🏽

I am planning to buy drone for first time & i am having license of drone pilot. Which will be better Mini 4pro or Air 3s ? Sometimes i travel out of India also so it would be easy to travel & allowed to fly in other countries also.
If you put the drone gimbal facing down first in the bag. The props wont get snag every time. Thats how it was ship in box. Also, remove everything and put the drone first that way it’s much easier to put the drone in there
another rando question lol: does your ship take forever to shoot AEB bracketed photos? sounds like 3 and 5 shot brackets can take up to 15-20 seconds according to someone in the fourms

This, would be a factor for certain shoots for sure. now, was that 12 or 50mp mode? thanks so much. wonder if this increased time translates to pano/hyperlapse processing taking longer as well 🤔 those can be frustratingly long already, esp when shooting at sunrise/sunset and time is critical

I hate to say this. But some creators footage looks like trash. Your videos footage looks immaculate. I would buy the drone based on your footage. Several other creators published videos and its like what is wrong. If this is how it is out of the box, I am sold!!!
@@readysetdrone Why does your stock unedited footage look so good, yet some others looks like it was filmed by the mini 2? My take on this. Some people are getting drones with bad chips. Not knocking the guy, but Billthedronereviewer posted a video the other day, and his footage looks TERRIBLE. I watched a lot on my big TV the other day and yours just looks great. I wonder if its anything to do with software used to make the videos, or youtube, or the drone, or a combo. NGL. There were other no name image drops that really really stand out as mini 2 ish.

Interesting! We never bought the Air 3, su I'll take your word for it. If you do a side by side night video with each drone, would you say that you couldn't tell a difference?
Are you kidding me? That QB sensor is not even 1inch sensor, is a DJI hoax....Is helped by AP of 1.8, but that is it.... Try a photo of 50Mpx on it, will get you crazy with the chroma aberrance that is making in RAW.... As for low light: - 3x camera on Air 3S is pretty blurred, compared with Air 3....maybe because both have issues with lenses, some drones have optical lens poorly aligned - the 1x camera is Limited RGB, making the Dynamic Range lesser with 10% because of this. I have tested my Air 3S, the only god thing is the TOF in front...the rest is lies and software. Cheers
If this drone was available back when I bought the Mavic 3 Pro I probably would have bought it instead. I was replacing a Mavic 2 Pro and a Mavic 2 Zoom.

Not sure because we don’t have a AIR3. Seems like the design is different, so probably not.
Yes I took that gamble with a 3 level Symek air3 case from Amazon for Air 3s that hasn't arrived yet.Noticed last night case now says Air 3s and Air 3 .
I am planning to buy drone for first time & i am having license of drone pilot. Which will be better Mini 4pro or Air 3s ? Sometimes i travel out of India also so it would be easy to travel & allowed to fly in other countries also.

If you put the drone gimbal facing down first in the bag. The props wont get snag every time. Thats how it was ship in box. Also, remove everything and put the drone first that way it’s much easier to put the drone in there

another rando question lol: does your ship take forever to shoot AEB bracketed photos? sounds like 3 and 5 shot brackets can take up to 15-20 seconds according to someone in the fourms
Yes, I just tried it and it took 22 seconds for 5 photos.
@@readysetdrone wow no kidding, that's impactful for those who rely on those AEBs. On my mavic 3 pro, it's a couple seconds, and nothing I've ever put much thought into. This, would be a factor for certain shoots for sure.
now, was that 12 or 50mp mode? thanks so much. wonder if this increased time translates to pano/hyperlapse processing taking longer as well 🤔 those can be frustratingly long already, esp when shooting at sunrise/sunset and time is critical
I don't have an answer regarding comparing pano and hyperlapses, but I can tell you that 12 MP take around 6 seconds and 50 MP take around 21 seconds, regardless of file type. Here's a quick short with my screen recording for you to see if you want. ruclips.net/user/shorts_8vAnXO9oIE
I hate to say this. But some creators footage looks like trash. Your videos footage looks immaculate. I would buy the drone based on your footage. Several other creators published videos and its like what is wrong. If this is how it is out of the box, I am sold!!!

@@readysetdrone Why does your stock unedited footage look so good, yet some others looks like it was filmed by the mini 2? My take on this. Some people are getting drones with bad chips. Not knocking the guy, but Billthedronereviewer posted a video the other day, and his footage looks TERRIBLE. I watched a lot on my big TV the other day and yours just looks great. I wonder if its anything to do with software used to make the videos, or youtube, or the drone, or a combo. NGL. There were other no name image drops that really really stand out as mini 2 ish.

Very nice drone , I agree the Mavic 3 style gimbal guard would be nice. If they have done this much with the Air 3S camera and Sensors #SensoredOut what will the Mavic 4 come out with

You should be placing the drone with the camera side down, and bottom facing the opening of the bag.
We did that originally, but it seemed like the props got stuck more often for some reason in that orientation.

Actually the 12800 ISO isn't higher. They simply combined Night Mode from Air 3 into the Normal mode. 12800 was available in night mode previously.

That QB sensor is not even 1inch sensor, is a DJI hoax....Is helped by AP of 1.8, but that is it....
Try a photo of 50Mpx on it, will get you crazy with the chroma aberrance that is making in RAW....
As for low light:
- 3x camera on Air 3S is pretty blurred, compared with Air 3....maybe because both have issues with lenses, some drones have optical lens poorly aligned
- the 1x camera is Limited RGB, making the Dynamic Range lesser with 10% because of this.
I have tested my Air 3S, the only god thing is the TOF in front...the rest is lies and software.

If this drone was available back when I bought the Mavic 3 Pro I probably would have bought it instead. I was replacing a Mavic 2 Pro and a Mavic 2 Zoom.
