Thanks for doing these swatches! I didn't even consider Tempest, but it ended up being my favorite one. I thought I would like the pinks the best, but I loved Tempest and Sol, which surprised me since I usually don't go for darker colors.
I'm definitely gettig sol but I also love the tempest and the dunes ones. It's so hard to pick!

Both looks good on mrsl his nails. I think the one from dd is a little bit better 🖤. For a normal nail polish it looks better than the douglas gel polish

3. Do you usually mix colors (different layers, not the actual polish)? That's something we do A LOT in Brazil (most common for light colors: a cream whitish base with a sheer nude/pinkish second) and it's a nice way to have different results with what you already have! I used to do a lot of a espresso shimmer first and a sheer red second and it looked amazing! I'd love to see the combinations you'd come up with!!

Hi Erica! I always use the Prep. It's great! They say that it's less drying than regular prep (alcohol) and people get better wear with it vs. alcohol. I would highly recommend using it :)

My questions before jumping in and buying everything… so I read it’s basically like a mix of gel and lacquer. Does it feel like a gel on the nails also? Super hard and thick?
Hi Annie! No, it's not a mix of gel.... it doesn't have any reactive ingredients.
It dries to a super thin film, almost matte and top coat brings up the gloss. Even though it's thin somehow it feels very solid on the nails. Often when people have damaged and bendy nails I tell them to wear base/sheer shade like Mind Your Mani etc. and top coat just for the protective feeling. It will chip from damaged nails but it's more for the feeling of the nails being protected.
I did that myself when I was growing out my post gel polish nails.
Even 2 x base and top will do it. Awesome line!!

Sometimes! Depends if we are making a new video then he has to remove it or if we are doing a wear test. He wore a bright pink from 2 brands (Zoya and Dazzle Dry) for a week once for a fundraiser
Holy wow... I thought Fast Track Cherry was it until I saw Plaid... How to choose?? All of them, I think!
I know! When I started with DD I went crazy for Fast Track, somehow I overlooked Perfectly Plaid. When I moved to Spain the women here love red and I started using Perfectly Plaid as well and it became my go to dark red. Fast track is cooler and Perfectly Plain is slightly warmer so I guess if you are a nail tech you need both :))

I'm sad they did away with Zero gravity as a single polish. Also I think the red hot chili polish isn't quite as orange as it shows on camera. I think a lot of the polishes show warmer on camera than in person.
Yes, I agree. Lots of polishes indeed show warmer. I tried to adjust the warmth of the video but then the skin looks too cool, not very realistic.
How come sometimes you cap the end of the nail and sometimes you don’t.
Hi Shena! This was just a quick swatch so it doesn't really matter. He won't be wearing these nails. Capping is very good with long nails, but short nails sometimes it doesn't matter. You have to see what works for you. Some people swear by capping the free edge and some don't really feel that it makes any difference...
@@TheSalonLife thank you for that! Yes I find that capping with the base and top coat only seems to work just fine for me. I change the color frequently so for me I don’t need them to last.
