Classic blues standard by blues legend Sleepy John Estes. Originally, "Milk Cow Blues" was played as an acoustic country blues. It was the British invasion bands in the 60's who created the blues renaissance that allowed us to hear the surviving blues masters like B.B. King, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Walter "Shaky" Horton, Furry Lewis, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Pinetop Perkins, Honeyboy Edwards, Hubert Sumlin, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson II, and so many more.
@urizzle7 Have to agree. There is a RUclips video of the Kinks playing the Beat Room probably New Year's Eve 1964, and the audience danced - the girl wearing the beret is very "into" it, nobody was paying her to be eye candy - kinda neat to see.
I repeat: Dave Davies is a VERY under-rated guitarist.
He's one of the godfathers of hardrock.
Two facts about Dave Davies:
1) He’s the only father of hard rock and invented the sounds of Punk.
2) He was bisexual.

This is my favourite live performance of anything I’ve seen on RUclips for The Kinks!
I'd give anything to go back to the 60's for one day to experience it again.
God,I love this song. It's one of those songs that a band could jam and improvise on for an hour, it must be a total blast to play.God save the Kinks!
I love those girls and their dancing!!!
Dave fricking killed it
Golden Age...It seems to be not possible to reach at this kind of highlight today....
Thanks for posting this early Kinks recording. I think it has a classic Kinks sound and I very much like Dave singing the first half of the song.
White go go boots were the rage back then.
The Milk Cow Blues is Kokomo Arnold's song, from the thirties. (I seen to it.)

The version of Elvis is the Best
I love the Kinks... but this song very Stones ..
Bollweevils................
Better than the Stones, whom I love, but the Kinks are grittier.
I wonder what Ray was mouthing at the very end of the song....
You don't like the white boots?
Those dancers made me really uncomfortable.
