Hey I got a new board and have the issue, seen other solutions that say to use liquid dish washer and candle wax.... wondering what you meant by remorse?
Great video man ! I still have 3 sets of pre 1992 and a few older decks with crazy shape ....vision made a physo stick ...that i still have with sum squeaking issues cheers thanks again ..... ps yea im old as dirt
Hey thanks alot for this video This helped me a lot compare to other videos I watched, ,where you were spot-on whats the problem. You deserve more views man keep it up!
Theirs a lite grease called reel butter for fishing reels I use in my pivot cups. No drip, and much longer lasting. Only a dab or two, work it around and then wipe the excess
I use skate wax in mine. I’ve also found that by waxing the pivot cups, you get more turn out of the trucks overall. I feel the squeaky noises from the friction may be reducing the capability of the truck turning to its full capacity.
Agreed. I noticed after I put some shaved golf wax in my pivot cups I could tighten my trucks way more than usual, where before i would see 3 threads showing on the kingpin now i can see like 8 threads and they still seem quite loose and they are much more responsive and quick turning.
@@sutekaa Yes a lead pen is made from graphite but you'd need to grind down the graphite in a mortar or maybe just scribble around inside the pivot cup with the pen.
Shave small pieces of golf wax/Paraffin wax into the pivot cups. Do not use Petroleum based oils or lubricants on plastic, it will make the plastic pivot cups disintegrate and corrode over time.
Why wouldn't you want to fix it tho? Lol It's so simple to solve and it will improve the trucks turning capability and make your pivot cups last much longer.
I like indys but hate how squeaky the cups are. Only had one set of thunders and they sre pretty silent. Even Ace arent quite as loud. Wonder if just swapping cuos would fix.
A drop of dish soap will work great. It did for me. My issue with using wax shavings or bar soap is the hanger can sometimes push out the wax. I've also used plastic safe silicone grease because I had it handy.
Be careful not to put too much, it might cause a bigger problem than just the cosmetic part. Putting to much will lubricate it too much and cause your trucks to overturn and put pressure on the bushings, wich may cause cutting of the bushings by the Washer cup, and/or put pressure on the bushings so when you land a trick, everything gets pushed out of place ( bushings not aligned with trucks ) and gets forced out of the washer cups. You’ll have to stop, untight everything, put everything back into place, to skate again just to rinse and repeat 2-3 tricks after
I just got a new longboard, but the front truck started squeaking after I adjusted the kingpin (tighter) would I just need to do this or is there something wrong with my board/did I do something wrong with the skate tool😂
This is great! I've just been squeezing dish detergent into my pivot cups & also to my bushings (they get dirty as hell!!), but next time I'm gonna try the speed cream.
Graphite powder lubricant. It's a type of dry lube like silicone and Teflon. I heard skate wax works as well. I would be wary of using petroleum based lubes on polyurethane.
i tried putting bearing oil on both sides of the bushings and pivot cup and put together and still squeaking. i have bones mediums as i like them and put them in new trucks. i just got some tensor mag lights and the bushings in them are horrible u feel ridges or something like degree ridges when turning if u understand what i mean and they also kinda stay in the position which is stupid and not right so i go back to bones. where as the bones is smooth but squeaky. so i looked at the bushing and noticed it to be quite hard looking and not rubber so i got a bowl and put HOT water in, not warm, hot! and sock them bushings in it and then set it up and now no squeaking. there is a slight bit of squeaking but its defo helped but i guess with time and weather, the rubber becomes harder or is not being used. which is why when i got back on my skateboard it was squeaking. when u do a regular maintenance like once a month cleaning bearings, soak the bushings if they become squeaky. thanks for trying in this video mate.
There will be a bit more friction in the cups compared to lubricated ones so they *might* wear out a touch faster but it is probably marginal I just used a couple of shavings of skate wax cheap and easy done, definitely easier than changing your pivot cups.
I have to correct that not good for natural rubber but your pivot cups probably aren't that, WD40 isn't the best lubricant and bar soap is probably a better option in skateboards.
WARNING do not use liquid soap or candles. Use the bar soap or wax so you won't get remorse
Hey I got a new board and have the issue, seen other solutions that say to use liquid dish washer and candle wax.... wondering what you meant by remorse?
@indy Snel makes sense I see thanks
I usually spit on it until it gets the whole thing wet, it works great. 👍
@@MicahMas does spitting actually work ? I don’t wanna wet it too much but I don’t have any cream for it to stop squeaking
@@irohxt6528 IDK man, one time I spit in a girl's mouth and she got pregnant. I'd be careful with that stuff.
This has been so helpful, thank you. Now it makes sense why changing my bushings hadn't improve things!

Why so underrated
Thankyou so much I will like because this 100% works! I will spread this video to my skate friends!
Putting a petroleum based lube on plastic will cause the plastic to break down. silicone spray lube works much better.
Does WD40 work?
@@user-jb9tj8qy7b No it has petroleum distillates that will break it down. Silicone spray is sold at any hardware store.
@@user-jb9tj8qy7b No. Don't use WD40 for anything besides displacing water between metal components. It's also a terrible lubricant, long term.
i knew it wasnt the bushings ! thank you

Rad! I didnt know - I've been using wax and works really good for me. Silent buttviiolent! lol

Will a bar of body soap work the same?
Graphite powder works way better… it doesn’t make it squeaky at all and you don’t have liquids dripping out. Chris Coles tip he uses
can i just use a pencil for this
@@sutekaa Yes a lead pen is made from graphite but you'd need to grind down the graphite in a mortar or maybe just scribble around inside the pivot cup with the pen.

Two videos in one day! Hyped
Is it bad if you don’t do anything about the squeaky ness? My board is squeaking and I thought it was bad but havnt heard about it!
Same question bro
@@zaidbhat5474 it’s not bro, I found ouy

yeah i put some wax shavings in mine and they haven't squeaked in months
Bro my bran new pos independent stage 11’s are squeaking. It’s ficking annoying.
Speed cream is silicone base which makes it better for plastic. Other oils can dry up the plastic.
No, its not. Do some research.
@onegod7257 sorry meant to say Sil glyde They sell it at automotive parts stores.
Having this issue with my new thunder hollow lights 2 and after 10 sessions still squeaker than ever lol
little question by my bearings i dont have speed cream donyou have some alternatives?
Skate/candle wax shavings work. I hear dish soap works too, but I never tried that.
@@ThorneBenatar dish soap works great!

I've haerd of people using skate wax as well. would love to see review on differeent pivot cups
or comparing different stock pivot cups!
finally someone answers the question correctly!! I've been trying to figure out the name of these for the longest
DONT USE SPEEDCREAM , ITS PETROLEUM BASED.

I appreciate this video 🤘
Awesome yesssssss!!!!!

can i use like WD40 on it bc i don’t have that cream stuff and i’m not near a skate shop
i was wondering the same thing
Can confirm wd-40 works just did it and absolutely no noise
WD-40 is a solvent and it will degrade nonmetals
@@Jonnyisspurlock how is it now, still good?

i use wax shavings and/or graphite powder, also wax the bushing contact points
I use silicone grease. Petroleum products will destroy rubber parts
Thats definitely how to fix em..n clean the bushings too.
True. It was pivot cups. Thanks.
A review on the krooked zig zagger 8.6 would be really cool :)
ill definitely try this soon enough. thanks man
