FINALLY, I found someone who showed exactly which plate to use with the RS2 and PD plate! I went through so many videos before finding this one. This is just what I need. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Question, so you don't need to connect the cables for it to work? Can you record without connecting the HDMI cables? When you put the camera on an L-Bracket, it covers the ports where you connect the cables... Thanks
thanks for the video, it was frustrating to find out my arca swiss l plates on cameras are not compatible, even thoiugh DJI advertises the clamp to be arca swiss.... it sort of is, but not really. It's different to everything else I have, as the clamp on the bottom manfrotto plate is too thick and and none of my existing plates fit it... this smallrig one cost 30-50e depending on where i look, and I hope it fixes my problem, cheers.
Additionally, if you buy the Kondor Blue Ultimate Rig or the Arca Swiss plate they supply..it is said that it would fit the DJI Ronin RS 2 . I have a dialog w them now since I found it isn't true, even if advertised. The Quick release plate that goes into Kondor Blue Arca Swiss plate works fine on the Peak Design belt/backpack holder as shown on the table here (the quick lock does not lock but the secure screw will hold it) ...as well as into the Peak Design tripod. And the Gorilla pod (the one on the table looking like an "X"). The Ronin RS2 Quick release plate on their Arca Swiss plate (small plate on top of the long one) doesn't seem to go with anything... at least what I found. These issues and all the options available for building rigs of any kind make this 'compatibility game' quite frustrating. A call to manufacturers to adhere to standards :-)
And where did you find this arm in between the gimbal and the smallrig handle ? I already have the same handle on my weebill S, i would like to replace it by the RS3 but I find only arms that comes with the handle none where I can adapt the one I already have :/ Thanks you
? I have the bm6k pro with the ronin s 18 35 lens. The base plate that mounts to the camera Always losens when I use the gimbal. I can only use 1 screw to tighten down the plate, which is not ideal. Do u know of any other base plate that I can use both screws to secure the plate to the camera . Thanks
Got the same problem! And when using the 3D focus from DJI it will not hold the camera in right position when calibrating (strong motor) Hope to find and Arca Swiss plate with the option to use both holes in the BMCC 6k pro...
Thanks for this, one thing that I'm stumped by but nobody else seems to mention - To slot into the RS2 whether using the standard baseplate or Smallrig you have to mount the Arca Swiss plate on to your camera at 90 degrees, 'sideways' if that makes sense. This means when I then try and mount my camera on my tripod or shoulder rig, I have to also twist those baseplates 90 degrees, and then the tightening mechanism is on the wrong side (in front or behind the camera, rather than to the side), and it doesnt even fit in this orientation on my shoulder rig. It seems very unusual to me, why is nobody else mentioning this? Any thoughts?
Was this manfrotto/arca swiss plate made just for the DJI RS2/RSC2 gimbal or could I perhaps use it on one of my manfrotto style tripod heads. This was just the video I was looking for. Thank you!
Thanks for your video. Could you clarify something for me, I’m looking to do the opposite and update all of my gear from mainly Manfrotto 501 to a DJI compatible arca Swiss. You mentioned it’s non standard arca Swiss so that made me unsure what I should be buying. If I were to buy a standard arca Swiss adapter base to mount on top of my existing 501 plates, would that in theory be able to Mount the arca Swiss plate that comes with the RS2? Conversely , would the RS2 base plate be able to take a standard non-DJI arca swiss plate ?
I bet the RS3 plates system will be the same as the RS2. So I wonder, do you know anything about the Peak Design Dual Plate (Arcaswiss+Manfrotto+Capture clips ☺️) Because I use this for years on my gimbal, and if it doesn't work then I will have to buy just a normal plain plate to put back my old system :/ Very frustrating indeed ...
Dang it, i bought that smallrig arm as a pre-release preorder and they never sent me that thumb clasp. looks kinda handy.. i wonder if i can get it elsewhere.
I've purchased the plate and even with the little lock button unlocked its almost impossible to mount on the DJI RSC2 - does anyone have this issue. I've got the Small Rig Arca Swiss plate as demonstrated in the video above but it's an extremely tight fit.
I just got mine and having same problem. Seems like the clamp on the RCS2 is too tight for it. I would have to put more force than comfortable with to get it on.

Thank You! I believe you're the only one who addressed the issue
Great video! There's no many people talking about this, thanks!
How very kind of you to say so Yun Lin.
Fantastic video. Exactly what I needed! What item do you use to hold the actual iPhone? It's not part of the Magic Arm right?
Right - just search iPhone tripod mount on eBay or amazon. I have this but it isn't the cheapest: amzn.to/3jPRowF
Thanks for this. I use the Peak design plate as well!
Thanks for this!

awesome video!
No way - that’s so nice of you to take the time to say so.
I think small rig also makes a magic arm like the one you use
Can you just use the space in front to just screw on any plate you want? Like what's the rest of the rail for?
Brilliant video. I was wondering about the same thing (the Peak Design plate). Thanks!
Frustrating not seing you actually mount the camera on the SmallRig plate, but thank you for the video !

how do you mount the RSC2 focus motor when using the Smallrig quick release plate ?
you can attach the rod mount for focus motor at the front of the manfrotto/smallrig plate
Pity you didnt mount that smallrig arca swiss plate on the gimbal to show how it fits with a PD plate

Let me clarify that I am talking about the small rig plate
Logically, you’d think so. Maybe grab one from Amazon and give it a go? Let me know how you get on. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@ChinskiChatgreat video. Why wouldn’t DJI include a correct plate? Save money. I call it false advertising
Thanks 🙌

Why wouldn’t DJI make their base plate really arca Swiss compatible to begin with? It’s absurd
Poor implementation of the focus motor from DJI. It forces you to switch back to their plate so you can use that hole for mounting the motor...
