    After over 2000 DJI flights now, I recommend actually doing this on occasion. It feels strange like something is wrong but just fly the drone and get confident in using it by sight alone flying, maneuvering and landing. I also suggest flying far away and exercising the rth on occasion… let it do it without interruption. Learn to trust it.

    • @The-Drone-Guy
      @The-Drone-Guy  Год назад +13

      Yes totally agree with this! I’ve had my commercial license since 2016 and used the old phantoms that had minimal obstacle avoidance and often times I was flying with just sight and the controller. It’s like learning to drive a standard car in a sense. Need to know the core techniques but also learn to trust yourself and the drone for its capabilities- what do you like to fly?

    You can even start from the beginning without the phone if the RC and the drone are already paired, but you will be limited to 50mt distance and 30mt height if i recall correctly (like if you enable payload mode), the same limits should apply in your case with the drone near the RC after unplugging the phone; if over these distances i just know it will start after a X amount of time the RTH, i don't know if you can pause/abort it with the RC or still controlling it.
    It's all written in the manual to download via QR code on the box together with the app or directly from their website, even the colors of the LED under the drone have particular meanings.
    Edit: I don't know if i'm wrong but i remember you have some limit on how many times (i mean several times consecutive) you can start without the phone, this is to avoid to use stolen drone without your phone app that can check you are using your DJI account.

      Yes that is definitely a reality that many of us have to face when using the RC-N1 controller. One thing I try to remember before I send the drone up is to toggle on “charge phone” in the DJI fly app. This can be found under the control tab and is great when you want to fly but it’s cold or your phone is about to die.

    Anyone have any ideas why my mini 2 SE wont connect to the DJI Fly app, nor fly via controller only? I've fiddled with it a bit and read the very short instruction booklet, but so far DJI had been beaten out by a TENSENX drone that was half the cost since it actually flew. Also, is the DJI Fly app supposed to be a premium paid subscription thing? Seems real scummy.

    • @The-Drone-Guy
      @The-Drone-Guy  Год назад +1

      Hey! First off the DJI fly app is totally free and does not require a paid subscription. Maybe you’re using the wrong app?
      I have pasted the app below. My suggestion is to first make sure you’re on the right app. Then turn everything off and back on to reset it. Please let me know if you have any more trouble this should not be happening
