This video was perfect. My husband and I just replaced the water inlet valve. The instructions were spot on for the entire process. This fixed my Maytag Neptune NF error that I’ve dealt with for years. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this awesome step by step video. The hardest part of the entire process was waiting almost 6 weeks for the replacement part from an appliance parts supplier. Actually replacing the part was simply a case of following the directions carefully. There were no surprises, only success!
I admire Ty who took only 20 minutes. Me being so not mechanically inclined, I took 2 hours, although I was working in a ridiculously cramped space -- and I spent twenty minutes trying to take the hoses from the wall. When I finally did, I realized I NEED TO TAKE THEM FROM THE WASHER!!! Anyway, I found the hardest part was getting that valve mounting screw back in. I was sure I finally had it, but when I was tightening the hoses in the back, the screw came away from the bracket. The hoses and inside wires keep the valve basically in place, but now the valve and affixed hoses can move around a little, we're talking maybe 1/4" to 1/2" in (probably) any direction. Does anyone actually know -- please, no guesses -- if there might be long-term consequences to not having the valve mounted to the bracket? Thanks!
FYI, on my version the Hex head screw holding the top on is 8mm.
Awesome. It took me about twenty minutes to remove and install the inlet valve w/thermistor. Great video. cheers
