This is my go-to fighting game controller. I have the Fighting Commander 4 and use that on my PC. The OCTA I use for my PS5, and play all my fighting games with it. Love this controller.
I just bought this last week, and I was surprised to find how well it plays and feels. I bought a few fight pads for the PS4, even hori's previous controller and none stack up to the octa.
Oh man I loved this thing when I tried it out at EVO22. I need to get another one cause the buttons are faded, but man it was so good for KoF. Best part is being able to turn off buttons with the app
I’ve always been tempted to buy this. But I’ve seen several complaints about not being a good controller that lasts. Love the design! But all those reviews just stop me from getting it :(
Ive been using this since it dropped and I have to say it's been amazing for KOF and my short hops and Tekken for my KBDs. Very much worth it and the Dpad was meant for durability.
Plus there's that issue with Playstations if too many bluetooth connections are on the console it starts lagging the console, it's a common thing in tournaments and we waste alot of time desyncing controllers
The Octa is amazing, is precise & light In PS5 work amazing, but when try in SF6 in a friend PC feel with a delay I have also the Hori Fighting Comander 4 and in the same PC work perfectly
Hmm.... This is helpful info. I have no plans on playing S-F 6 personally myself. But the fact that the controller itself have any delay on PC is alarming by itself. I did read a review that using the Xbox version on the PC works better. But for different reasons mentioned.
I mean, almost no fighting games require the right analog stick. Probably arena games. But this controller was definitely made with 2D-3D fighting games in mine. Expecting it to be used in multiple game genres like shooters or Mobas, would be a bit baffling.
Fighting Commander is great controllers series from HORI, I have several models for various platforms for years and enjoying using them enormously. Sadly they didn't make OCTA version for Switch. Hope they will for Switch's successor.
I have big hands too. The size is perfect. The weight is not a deal breaker but it would have been better if it had the weight of an xbox controller imo.
@@aegisreflector1239 I probably give it to the razor Raion after they fixed it when everybody found out it didn’t have a pivot for it’s dpad when that first dropped Edit Cons it’s 110 usd
Virtua Fighter 5 REVO comes out in 3 weeks for Steam and i'm searching for a good wired controller. As a hardcore SEGA Saturn fan, i think THIS is the controller i want. I know, that 8-Bitdo also has a wired M30 controller with a very similar Saturn D-PAD and ASUS also has a good wired Raikiri controller. Still i think i should get the HORI one, even if i kinda was disappointed with the XBOX style ONYX controller for the PS4 because it was so small and the D-PAD was not good at all. So for me, it's the OCTA, the wired XBOX M30 or the wired Raikiri controller. Can't wait for Virtua Fighter 5 REVO and VF6! 🥲
FC4 Xbox version still the best for me. This dpad when breaking it in damn near ripped my thumb open. While this version is solid once you break it in, AVOID THE TEKKEN 8 VERSION

Why do so many people put it down ?
@@mikeandroid3512Probably they don't like the Dpad. Most people like Traditional Dpad rather than Analog style Dpad.
@@keidz03 should I buy hori octa or power a fusion for ps4?
You use the D-pad or the analog?

Looks beautiful to Play Emulated DreamCast

Me too. I’m torn.
Same! I need a good dpad
So I haven’t heard any news about a new 6 button pad for ps5/ps4. I wish Betop made one for PlayStstion.

It should be wireless with universal bluetooth connection.
They might make a wireless version in the future. But I was thinking the same as you. I'm sure it's good reasons as to why they didn't.
For fighting games it makes more sense to plug and play right away. Don't want to spend time looking for a blue tooth signal
Plus there's that issue with Playstations if too many bluetooth connections are on the console it starts lagging the console, it's a common thing in tournaments and we waste alot of time desyncing controllers
For tournament reasons, this makes sense,@@johnpreston230. Nothing wrong with a little old school feeling either.
The tournaments are explicit, they say WIRED CONNECTION.
Reminds me of the NeoGeo mini pad controller

This is my favorite fighting game controller to take with me to tournaments!
I noticed it doesn't have a right analog stick
The Tekken edition has one but it’s like a 3ds analog stick and not sure if it’s pc only or Xbox/pc
@@plggybank I should check it out

It doesnt need it
I have a bit of a problem with this controller. I mis-input jumping back and forward.
Can I use this Controller as an alternative for my dual sense? My Dualsense broke and planning to buy this as replacement
How to use the dpad with other games too? Some games force to use the stick when i want to use the dpad
It's shaped like a XBox controller which tried to copy the PlayStation controller but didn't succeed in improving on Sony's design.

It being lightweight & condensed might be an issue(s)with a guy with big hands that heavy on the buttons such as miself. But I'll still give it a go..

Word, cool. Appreciate the info & response,@@NeoGeoNow. 💪🏾
Bought one before the Release of SF6, was not dissapointed. Much better than the Standard Xbox Series X pad.
Does anyone know if i can use a usb-c to usb-a adapter from the front of the ps5 to the hori octa?
Is this have the Turbo for The bottons?
If i play on ps5 i dont need to update something like the firmware im buying this right know so
I want this one for overwatch 😅 and later any Fighting game
Also I. Which fighting game this controller work better? Like in Tekken or guilty gear I don't know
If i buy series x version it will works also on Ps5?? Or viceversa
no
Need a wireless verson of OCTA!
