@@thefoosterchannel on consoles playing with mic on makes the alien hear real life sound. So if you talk to someone the Alien can hear it through the mic. I learned the hard way 😅
When I played the game i didn't even want to use the tracker for the fear of the noise it made also opening them damn lockers are bloody loud as well, I didn't want to do either so I took it real slow and only used both in emergencies.
Man I just LOVE the graphics and the attention to details! Every corner, every wall, etc... nothing is left unfinished. The fact that, even in rooms the game doesn't tell you to go in (unnecessary rooms that are not essential for the gameplay), everything was planned and there are small notes and lore-related stuff, it's just pure prefection! I always wanted to buy it but I was still a bit hesitating, but now I'm not anymore and it won't be wasted money for sure
YEEEEESSSS!!!! I'm proud of you for facing your fears and continuing your Alien journey Fooster! 👏 Wasn't sure we were gonna see anymore of this game 😂
I'm pretty sure the tracker itself can be heard by the alien so when it's getting close you definitely shouldn't be pulling it out. It's more like something you use when you're unsure as to where it is. When you were hiding under the bed at 6:35 it kept coming back most likely because your tracker was giving you away.
@@AnyWhoAllyNot only does it learn your typical hiding spots, but it will start learning if you overuse flares and noisemakers. It's crazy how good the AI is for the xenomorph.
@@jeebuzcrust Oh I know, I learned the hard way 😂 I overused the flamethrower in my first run through, and by the end it didn't even scare it off 💀 Plus, when the ai is running around looking for you, it's ACTUALLY running and round and looking for you. Not teleporting based on trigger locations, it really doesn't know where you are and looks for you the way a real monster would.
I am sure it has been said before, but the sound design in your videos is amazing! The subtle change to your voice when you are wearing a spacesuit, or in ventilation shaft is so clever! 10/10 keep up the great work Fooster!!
Yes, for a moment in peace, quickly turned into a crescendo of screams of sheer terror. The xenomorph, oh he really likes Fooster. I couldn't stop laughing though, when he so unnecessarily hit the android over the had, which caused the android to grab Fooster, then the alien came down for the finisher. When Fooster is in a panic of sheer terror, he misses things that are in front of him. But he so deserved that ending ROFLMAO! 🤣Now fooster needs electrolytes to rebuild his strength.
Pro tip: you can commit supplies in your inventory to crafted items then you have blueprints for. That way you can pick up more of them and it simulates having "backup" items you can hold.
A few tips: 1. The xeno is invincible. It will temporarily flee from the flamethrower (and maybe molitoves), but anything else is just a dinner bell to it. 2. You can not wait the xeno out. Once it's in an area, it will continue to patrol until you escape to another area of the station. 3. Certain areas are scripted to have it, but it can be summoned most anywhere if you make too much noise (i.e. weapons fire). 4. You can tell if it's hiding in an overhead vent by the drool. 5. All enemies will pull you out of a hiding spot if they see you enter it. 6. The ai in this game works on actual line of sight and noise. Hiding spots are only useful if they break line of sight (so you don't count as hidden just by being in them). The ai in this game is *smart* and _will_ figure out where you went if you make it too obvious. 7. The xeno and the androids won't fight each other. 8. The xeno is attracted by sound. You can lure it with noise makers or flash bangs, but not flares.
Tip: Every beep you hear while not using a motion tracker means that motion is detecting new movements. Immediately use motion tracker to determine location of movement.
Definitely keep playing. I would love to see you finish the game. Something to keep in mind is that the more you use the flamethrower on the alien, the braver it gets. Eventually it might just ignore it and get you anyway. Hiding is always the best option. Also, if you are hiding under something and you can see the alien’s head, it can probably see you. You want to get out of sight. So those walled off desk areas are great if you huddle up under it where you can no longer see the alien or only see its feet. Deeper in a hiding spot is better.
I, personally, CANNOT play this game, I scream and shake just watching YOU hide🤣 I have so much respect for you doing this, thank you so much!! So far it’s been one of my favorite game plays and the plot makes it sooooo interesting!!
IIRC there are two AI's in this game that run simultaneously. One is like a game director that always knows the player location. The other is the Alien itself. The Alien truly doesnt know the player location, but the game director does and sends the Alien to your area. The more you hang around in one spot, the more likely the game will direct the Alien to your location to search. So movement is actually better than just hiding often times.
The fact that your own voice changes to “echo” when you are in the vent’s to a radio frequency when you walked on LV-426 just shows how passionate you are with your craft! Complete immersion ,Respect!🙌🏽💯
i will never skip an isolation gameplay because even this many years later, i think it is one of the most well done games of all time. it is truly incredibly crafted.
No exaggerating, fooster is my #1 favorite content creator, whether it's him panicking and hyperventilating in a horror series, or him and fisk making each other laugh, never fails to make me smile.
Great that you back on this, it is quite the Rollercoaster of a game. Quick tip is that whenever you come across an item that says you are full, check to see if anything you can build needs that piece. Even if you can't build it fully, just giving it up and taking the extra with help you TREMENDOUSLY on your journey. Good luck
It still boggles my mind that a game from A DECADE ago looks better than most AAA, even AAAA titles these days. 1:40:14 In a modern game, I get the feeling this scene would be pitch black. I kinda hate the whole "more realistic lighting" stuff because I'd rather the light be perfect for the scene instead of trying to mimic real life.
Yeah, it has been a sad trend for big studio made games to be seemly made for as little as possible or maybe the current generation of developers they are hiring are somehow less skilled/talented they those 10 years ago, which I highly doubt but just look at the OG Arkham Batman games to Suicide Squad and you could easily mistake Suicide Squad for a older/outdated game while the Arkham games still look beautiful today.
I want to like your comment, but it's at 69 likes at the time I'm writing this, so I feel compelled to not touch it. Edit: someone else ruined it, so I'll upvote now.
Fun fact: If you hide in lockers too much, the ai makes the alien check those more often. Hiding won't be a solution if you keep doing it. Same with lures, use too much, and the alien starts ignoring them. Have fun with the flamethrower, seems really good at scaring the alien away, hopefully it doesn't start to get immune if you over use it ;).
If you use noisemakers to distract the xenomorph, it will learn that the noisemakers are just that, a distraction. I will stop moving towards the noisemakers and hunt for you instead. I never used one in my playthrough as that was scarier than just hiding, moving slowly, and being patient. Keep up the great work! Love this series!

I have happy tears that you are going to continue playing this, I love you Fooster thank you so much! Now, welcome to San Cristabol medical facility, your little haunted house of horrors, the alien will be in shortly to provide your tail injection. LOL There are two places in the game that the alien is absolutely relentless, and the medical facility is one of them. I also love the Anesadora memory sequence flashback too. The flame thrower is indeed awesome, but it always makes new players complacent, and you forgot the purpose is to hide, not burn up all your fuel. You do alright most of the time though.
I think I like watching your videos because I don't feel fear like that anymore in my life and it's funny to watch other people that scared. Keep up the good work!😂
Perfect timing before Alien: Romulus comes out. Ive been wondering why this game wasnt on your channel but its well worth the wait! Love your stuff! Its therapeutic.
You really gotta watch your timing on saving….this is one of those games where if you save and the xeno happens to spot you while your doing it you will get locked into that situation where everytime you load up the xeno will still be after you…it’s one of those games…so just make absolute sure that you are not being pursued and are completely safe before you save the game because I promise you it will lock you into a death sequence everytime you load the game back up
FYI i think you either have to press and hold reload or keep pressing reload on the revolver or she only loads one bullet per press of the reload button out of six. If you look at the revolver the cylinder only has a couple of rounds in it not all six but you have spare ammo. Odd game mechanic took me a while to realize, loving the play through keep going.
Fooster, I felt exactly like you. My stress level was way past the limit. I had to take actual brakes all the time to reduce my stress and horror level. Worst part is the tension of not knowing where he might pop up.

The part of this game that I really hate, is climbing through a vent, to hear it climb into the vent behind you. Especially when you don't have the flamethrower. That really gets me. Really enjoying these, glad to see you enjoying such a (deceptively horrifying) gem of a game years later. Did you ever play Aliens Vs Predator 2010? The Marine campaign for that one was actually incredibly tense. Very atmospheric and quite scary, which is an achievement considering you could actually kill the aliens, unlike Isolation.
Love avp the night club on whatever the hardest difficulty was brutal and scary and hey it's better then trying to leave a vent and having the alien enter it as you go to leave
Dropped my phone at 21:35, Bloody Hell that gave me a good fright 😅. I noticed at one point you said that you were not sure how long this episode was going to be, so let me put it to you like this; Move over Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Or any other long blockbuster film! We got Fooster to watch and WE ARE HOOKED!!! 😂😂❤
Fooster... also the Xenos in this have the first self-learning AI. If you hide in a spot and it finds you it will look in the type of spot you were in when it found you first every time. For example if it catches you in a locker and it kills you from that point on it will check every locker in the room it saw you go into the next time around.
@thefoosterchannel first time I played this game I ended up getting caught in a locker. I'm a dude and I screamed like a 5 year old little girl when it opened the locker and 1-shot killed me.

I am a huge alien fan. I’m glad you’re playing this game. It’s awesome and a sidenote to help you traverse the areas you’re playing in better there are glowing panels that pertain maps that will reveal the area that you’re in.
You can’t escape the Alien Fooster, it’ll always find you. Jokes aside, absolutely loving these videos, keep them coming. Also I figured I should let you know that I think some of your audio settings are messed up, because the Alien is supposed to make more roars and gargles when it kills you, and the humans are missing their voice lines, such as them getting killed. It’ll help a lot to fix it.

I am so bloody happy you've kept going with this series. You brought me near 3 hours of a smile for an otherwise horrible past 2 days. What a stress relief you are Fooster. Keep up the awesome work, and panicking, and shouting woahhhhh. Lol.
I am going to suggest you walk rather than crouch the whole time, you should always be walking as to be able to make distance from the alien or other enemies, crouch just to be less visible and hide behind things when the alien is already in the room with you, if it's going in another direction and looking away stand up and get out of there as fast as possible (without sprinting since that actually does make noise), otherwise it can catch you slowly creeping in the open

Haven't watched the video yet, but a bit of advice: Im fairly certain that the alien can indeed hear the motion tracker beeping when youre holding it if youre close enough, which of course will make it alert.
The effects work specifically on your voice in this video is phenomenal, your voice is echoey when you’re in larger rooms, quieter when you’re in smaller padded rooms, and your voice echoes while in hiding spots.
I have seen all your videos. I checked yesterday and some of them I’ve watched as many as ten times. Something about your adventures calms me down. Thank you fooster

@@thefoosterchannel on consoles playing with mic on makes the alien hear real life sound. So if you talk to someone the Alien can hear it through the mic. I learned the hard way 😅
@blackwidow7804 same I said wait what about pizza then the alien came zooming around the corner
@@tiga8600he just wanted a slice
Its a great 'little' game hard to believe its ten years old now
YEEEEESSSS!!!! I'm proud of you for facing your fears and continuing your Alien journey Fooster! 👏 Wasn't sure we were gonna see anymore of this game 😂
The radio voice filter while wearing the space suit at 1:30:00 is just the kind of stuff that makes me love this channel. Does so much for the mood!
SOMEONE ELSE SAID THIS I HAD NO IDEA!!!
@@thefoosterchannelI was JUST about to comment this lol
Also, if you keep using the same hiding places, it'll start looking there (ie lockers).
@@AnyWhoAllyNot only does it learn your typical hiding spots, but it will start learning if you overuse flares and noisemakers. It's crazy how good the AI is for the xenomorph.
@@jeebuzcrust Oh I know, I learned the hard way 😂 I overused the flamethrower in my first run through, and by the end it didn't even scare it off 💀
Plus, when the ai is running around looking for you, it's ACTUALLY running and round and looking for you. Not teleporting based on trigger locations, it really doesn't know where you are and looks for you the way a real monster would.
@@AnyWhoAlly He will learn this soon enough, Fooster be loving those lockers! 😄
I am sure it has been said before, but the sound design in your videos is amazing! The subtle change to your voice when you are wearing a spacesuit, or in ventilation shaft is so clever! 10/10 keep up the great work Fooster!!
Thank you for coming back to face your nightmares!
We all love watching you scream and freak out.
:]
@@stellarproductions8888 lol
Foosters editing is so dang clean 2:57 - the change in his voice is just an example. Freaking love it
People asked and they did receive it. Thank you for continuing to play this masterpiece!
It really is a masterpiece. I'm a massive fan of the alien universe and this still remains one of the best and the scariest games I have ever played.
Masterpiece isn't even the word for it. This game is perfect 👏 😁 @@syborg1173
I love how you can feel the tension when Fooster speaks. I dont think there was a single moment he didnt sound nervous
Pro tip: you can commit supplies in your inventory to crafted items then you have blueprints for. That way you can pick up more of them and it simulates having "backup" items you can hold.
A few tips:
Flares do attract the Xeno, just not when it's in the vents.
Fooster and Ripley finishing each others sentences. Fooster: "OH!" Ripley: "FUCK!"
Don't forget Fooster and Marlow @ 1:31:08 Fooster "OH!" Marlow: "SHIT"
Whhat time stamp was that? I want to check it out. Nvm, found it at the explosion.
Tip: Every beep you hear while not using a motion tracker means that motion is detecting new movements.
Immediately use motion tracker to determine location of movement.
2:17 The mad man goes into a vent, after seeing the Xeno going into one. The non-challant tone of voice sent me!
Same! I was yelling, "Are you sure that's a good idea?!" 😰
I'm loving this Fooster, and as always, be safe, be well and be good young chap.
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for this - thank you 😊
Really appreciate the detailed echoes added to your voice depending on location, its so immersive and im a sucker for those details!
Yes and the longer you stay and hide, Xeno will start to check the lockers.
And the Xeno AI adapts and learns from that info.
@@missdirethe xenomorph behaviour is pre-programmed. It doesn't learn, it gives you the illusion that it does.
@@PabloJurkiewicz Yeah, its behaviour tree is so well done it seems like it learns. This game was so well ahead of its time.
@@teklisbenziI might want to see, understand and try to implement that in a future game of mine, if I ever decide to make one that is.
2:30:00 I love the cut when u screamed FU** it was the most hilarious thing I've heard 😂😂😂😂
It's 2:31:19.
I laughed out loud during the whole scenario 🤣 Just a sequence of unfortunate events

You should look on nexus mods, there's good stuff on there
Yeah, it has been a sad trend for big studio made games to be seemly made for as little as possible or maybe the current generation of developers they are hiring are somehow less skilled/talented they those 10 years ago, which I highly doubt but just look at the OG Arkham Batman games to Suicide Squad and you could easily mistake Suicide Squad for a older/outdated game while the Arkham games still look beautiful today.
I want to like your comment, but it's at 69 likes at the time I'm writing this, so I feel compelled to not touch it.
Edit: someone else ruined it, so I'll upvote now.
Thank you for hearing us and doing this Fooster. We’re with you until the end.
The way I was refreshing my subscriptions multiple times a day to see if you’d uploaded another part to this 😭
Really made my day.
I’m @2:23:13 and I’m loving you playing.. there no way I can ever. You are doing a brilliant job and I love your commentary. Please continue I will watch .. I know it’s stressful... you are definitely stronger💪🏻 than I will ever be. Much love and respect ✊ ❤
8:32 THE MOST BADAZZ part in the game!!! If you stand and look at the flame the Alien is on the otherside staring at you through the fire.
There is no better way to spend a cold winter morning than snuggled on the lounge, watching Fooster scream while hiding from aliens 😂 so thrilled to see more of this.

Wait till he learns that using the flamethrower too much, it starts ignoring it...
The legend back at another amazing adventure....when aliens can be enemies but friends too..such a great legend you are sir fooster
This game truly deserves to be played. Thanks for sticking with it fooster!
fooster, you really are the best, thanks for playing this for us despite your fear.
I remember reading something similar! It’s amazing and terrifying
@@thefoosterchannel I love IA design in this game. It's never the same.

Im so glad you started playing this!! I remember when it came out, it deserves so much more recognition
yaaaaaassss!!! plase finish this. Someone else said that none of their fave creators have played it through, and it's the same for me. And I'm really enjoying your playing style.

I am so bloody happy you've kept going with this series. You brought me near 3 hours of a smile for an otherwise horrible past 2 days. What a stress relief you are Fooster. Keep up the awesome work, and panicking, and shouting woahhhhh. Lol.
Omg yessss finally thank youu ...now little nightmares 2 please
I am going to suggest you walk rather than crouch the whole time, you should always be walking as to be able to make distance from the alien or other enemies, crouch just to be less visible and hide behind things when the alien is already in the room with you, if it's going in another direction and looking away stand up and get out of there as fast as possible (without sprinting since that actually does make noise), otherwise it can catch you slowly creeping in the open
There is a secret in this game if you go back to the past places, you will find many, many people running away and enemies will turn into friends
This is one of those games I hold near & dear to my heart. Very excited about the progress OpenCage is making. Looking forward to getting into making custom levels/campaigns for this game.

Im fairly certain that the alien can indeed hear the motion tracker beeping when youre holding it if youre close enough, which of course will make it alert.

Brilliant playthrough! This is one of the few games that manages to be terrifying even when you're just watching. Glad you're enjoying it!
This man is going to hold his breath until he passes out one of these days
The effects work specifically on your voice in this video is phenomenal, your voice is echoey when you’re in larger rooms, quieter when you’re in smaller padded rooms, and your voice echoes while in hiding spots.
