After my dad died I truly felt like Yellow, like it was all rituals and stuff and I was like in shock? And didn’t realize he was like dead until he was in his coffin and then I was like “wait my dad is never… never coming back, he stays in the hole…” as if I didn’t realize I’ve been waiting for him to just come back or something. Once again DHMIS truly understands what the hell we all feel.
Watching this episode again, I think it's safe to say Coffin Guy isn't really a teacher. (I know, you could say that about most, if not all DHMIS teachers, but hear me out.) He doesn't really have a song, he's not aiming to teach the group about funerals, causes of death, or anything like that. He comes across more as a guy here to do a job. That job of course being to hold the funeral, and then keep Duck dead and buried. No ulterior motives, or weird twist to their lesson, because they have none. They're just here to, well, take care of the dead. Weird observation I know, but it is something I noticed.

Lost my dad 2 years ago and my mom 13 years ago and this episode has a couple of moments that get me every time I watch it. Its a nice release to come back to.
One thing to note is that this was the song they released to advertise the show. Only for it to be pushed back due to the Queen getting ready for the big day.
Its about loosing someone close to you. like a friend or a family. And then trying to make new friends and new family but its just never the same. This really hit close to home and my heart in many strings. So awesome thank you.

The idea has always been that a child has no lens into the world but the dogmatically accepted lessons, taught to them by people who are not what they seem to be. The way we shelter children, especially those with special needs, leads to their life being something of a dissociative parody of what the people around them were taught to tell kids.
Every time I rewatch an episode I always notice little details I hadn't noticed before, like how when Red is talking to his ID card, in the family wallet you can see Duck's ID card has his eyes x'd out because he's dead
The fact that the pink blob could mold itself into anything seems so significant. Like no matter who you look towards and no matter what you do, you’ll never find a proper replacement. Like even if the person you wish could replace the friend tried their very best, it’s simply not possible. Also the bloody stain on the floor might be a nostalgic reminder to the characters of their duck friend. That’s why red guy was so defensive and irrational when the pink blob asked “where should I look?”

I haven’t seen anyone discuss this, but this actually gives a reason why Duck Guy (and possibly Red Guy) comes back after DHMIS 5, and possibly why he acts so differently this season. The original Duck Guy was probably killed by the Health Band, and ever since he reappeared at the end of DHMIS 6 we’ve been following various clones. Edit: As @Evolution Pasta pointed out, Yellow Guy ALSO died in the show as well during DHMIS 2 since he told Colin “You made me die!” in 6. There may have been a few other times.

I haven’t seen anyone discuss this, but this actually gives a reason why Duck Guy (and possibly Red Guy) comes back after DHMIS 5, and possibly why he acts so differently this season. The original Duck Guy was probably killed by the Health Band, and ever since he reappeared at the end of DHMIS 6 we’ve been following various clones.
Edit: As @Evolution Pasta pointed out, Yellow Guy ALSO died in the show as well during DHMIS 2 since he told Colin “You made me die!” in 6. There may have been a few other times.

The duck that died was the “real” one. He has maggots in his blood. Where else did we see maggots? His coffin.

Duck dying in DHMIS 5 wasn’t even literal, all three of them are back at the end of DHMIS 6 after the machine is unplugged.
The unsettling bit about this is that when duck kills the other duck the one that died had maggots. Meaning stain Edwards killed duck.

But we see earlier in the episode Duck doesn’t bleed. So the fact that there’s blood at all means duck killed stain.
there is blood as well and original Duck was shown to lack blood or even organs.

U can see maggots in the dead duck and in one scene in the coffin the real duck is getting eaten by maggots it means that the new duck killed the old one.

The pink clay was like the new child of the family who couldn’t talk about his lost sibling.
Red guy and yellow guy acting like the parents which seem very uncomfortable talking about their lost one. And rather than embracing pink clay for who he was they wanted him to be just like his lost sibling.
I feel sorry for him he just wanted to have adventures …
