I LOVED this doco! I'm not even into bikes, but I watched it on a flight from NZ to Australia. I was sitting beside two Spanish chaps who couldn't speak any English. I was watching the doco on my iPad with earplugs in and I noticed that they were laughing at me each time I laughed out loud or said "Oh Nooooo!' while watching it, so I set up my iPad between all of us and we all watched the film together. Afterward, they showed me a bunch of photos of the two of them travelling around Spain on motorbikes! Great vibes mid-air across cultures. Attending the Finke Desert Race is now on my Bucket List.
Saw this last week at the Astor - absolutely fucking brilliant doco, and an even better experience. The two-floor cinema was absolutely packed with bike fans, and the bikes themselves were lining the streets out front. When the narrator announced that the paraplegic rider Isaac Elliott had passed the first checkpoint, the crowd burst out with applause and leapt to their feet with whistles and cheers. It was an enthralling film, with equal parts laughs and tears, that had you engaged the whole way through - showing you the race from the perspective of several riders, their families, and the fans themselves. Spectacular 10/10 - see one of the special screenings with the director and racers if you can, but if you can't, then see the film any way you can!
Thank you I loved this video reminded me of Reid the Himalya which I had taken part in 2012 at the age of 63 and successfully finished, but could not locate my friend in this video from India Madhusudan?God willing shall take part in this.
