Facts Verse needs to get its facts straight.
    - Penny Marshall wasn't the "daughter of Frank Marshall, the show's producer." She was the *sister* of *Garry* Marshall, the show's producer. And you even talk about him @6:20 but then you _still_ call him Frank a moment later?!
    - It's David Lander not David Landers.
    - _Laverne and Shirley_ debuted in January of 1976 meaning it was in production since at least the fall of 1975. So how could Cindy Williams have auditioned for _Star Wars_ "in 1976" "before the show kicked off?" Also Williams was "nowhere found on set" when Carrie Fischer guested because *she had left the show entirely three episodes before that one.*

Regarding the Princess Leia question...my gut tells me that Williams would not have played the character as well as Fisher did. Ofc, this could be partially based on the fact that I, personally, never even saw Williams play a more serious role especially not a sci-fi character. Not to mention that no one ever knew anyone else BUT Fisher to play the role making it almost impossible to imagine someone else doing it better. It's kinda like imagining anyone OTHER than Christopher Reeves playing Superman in the 70s movie series... it's IMPOSSIBLE to imagine!

Were you hired by the Marshall family? Not one negative comment about them and so many about Cindy Williams. On this show, at least 4 people had the last name Marshall and Cindy was surrounded. I don't know where you got your facts from, but there are interviews with them where they got along quite well.

@Giada_De_Low_Rent_Tits Well said. I think I read somewhere that Cindy was uncomfortable working on the set because Penny always had her family there to look out for her. Still, despite the tension on set, they were able to do some classic physical comedy/slapstick together. The first few seasons were quite good, but then it started to go downhill from there.
