I have to hear the full length versions before I die. Maybe the only chance I’ll get to hear the classic metal/sophistipop collab I’ve always wanted. Don’t get me wrong I love Priest and heavy metal but there’s something about Stock Aitken and Waterman production of the late 80s that just hits me in all the right places. Pop music done to perfection by men at their peak.
This sounds more like Kim Wilde than Judas Priest albeit with male vocals. The fact that Judas Priest could perform stuff like this completely outside their rapid fire assault-esque heavy metal only goes to show how proficient they are at music.
I thought it sounded a bit like Def Leppard or ZZ Top, bands that used a lot of technology in that era but were still somehow "rock" (not "metal", though)

This is so awesome, because The Stylistics (from right here in Philly) were phenomenal and hearing the equally phenomenal Judas Priest cover this is great. Ram It Down was such a lousy album that adding the S/A/W recordings would make it better!

I love Judas Priest, I love The Stylistics. What's the big deal? Music is music to me. I never understood the narrow-minded mentality of some folk who think their music fits into a 'genre'. Music is made by humans for all humans to enjoy. Is it possible to love all kinds of music? Of course it is. It's what makes us HUMAN! As it is JP music appeals to 16 yr old girls anyway. They've always had em at their shows!!

Reminds me of Dianne Warren's work with Aerosmith in a sense. I feel this has a really anthemic atmosphere, retains the warmth of that philly soul with those luscious strings, and has the bravura or rock and roll... what a beautiful hybrid this must be!
Priest is a multi-faceted band. They are willing to take chances on beautiful ballads like Before The Dawn, Night Comes Down, etc I love that that covered a Stylistics Song. Priest > Maiden

always love JP as pure heave metal band since early 80's, but this song, as a lot of people have mentioned before, shows that they are truly great musician, not just some metal die hard that only knows guitar distortion and speed drumming. When you hear fretless bass at the beginning, you know what kind of musical background the JP members is listening.....

I'm not a Judas Priest fan by a long shot, but I'd really like to hear a full-length version of this. A hard rock band also needs to redo the Spinners' "We Belong Together"; the guitar riff in the intro expands into a hard Rock arrangement in my head. 😅
After Halford discussed this track in his autobiography, I knew I had to hear it. He says it was a "band decision" to see out SAW's help with making a hot but this just has Halford Solo Record all over it. He even said he told the other members that he wanted to do a solo project at this time. Thank the gods they decided not to release this as a Judas Priest track. Sounds like it should have been the B-side to Patrick Swayze's "She's Like the Wind".
I agree with Halford, it's totally wrong for them, pair this with anything in their catalogue and you'd think it was a different band, rock on the Mighty Priest!
I read somewhere Priest didn't want to release this track because they were worried they'd get backlash for it. Sounds like something that should have been on Turbo or a movie soundtrack. Just discovered Kim Carnes did the song back in 1991 Not sure if it was her song or Priest's

We want to listen to the 3 complete songs, it was a new experience for Judas Priest and the fans want to enjoy these songs too.
