This video journey of your training program is fabulous. To see an elite strength athlete showing us his workouts 2-3 times a week is amazing. What impresses me most about your workouts is how you stay under your limits. No max loads; no doing reps to failure. Just steady progress and sticking with a plan. I wish I had learned this 50 years ago! 😀 I‘be had plenty of overuse injuries.

    • @lmdoinraysmom

Yeah in my 20s I always trained to failure and it was hard to improve and stay injury free. Now in my 40s I am actually always training under my limits so I can actually progressively overload towards a peak. I wish I knew this when I was 20, because I am improving much faster even at this age and feeling much more healthy in my joints and everything. I don't know where this whole thing came from to always go to failure, maybe it's better for bodybuilding than it is for actual strength gaining? Anyway it never worked that well for me.

Thor I just lost my uncle to a warehouse accident. He was apparently crushed by a forklift carrying stuff down a narrow hallway. (Poor company design...and you bet they'll get sued.)
I'm literally working out in his honor. I'm a mess. I'm sweating, crying and screaming at the sky/ceiling.

Looks like when you un-rack on the bench your arms are already a fair bit bent before descending. If you have a strict judge they ain't gonna give you a start command unless your arms are locked. Sometimes big guys cant fully lock so you can show that to the head judge before the comp so they know to give you the start command. If that's not the case and you can lock fully then best to get in that habit now. No idea what meet you are doing but you don't want to get caught off guard with that.

Wraps and Sleeves. Jesus broke Dan's Sleeves Record which was 1127.5 with his new 1152.5. The Wraps Record (which Thor is going after) by Dan Bell is 1182.5 kg.
The difference is the knee support you are wearing for the squat. Wraps is knee wraps and sleeves is knee sleeves. Beach press and the Deadlift are the same.

I think what's most impressive about watching you train vs other hyper elite athletes is you do things the right way, every single time. I think this is why you've not had career altering injuries like bicep tears or pec tears. You listen to the experts. You're humble. And you commit.

Hafthor, when your bodyweight changed so much between strongman and boxing, did your tattoos change position/shape? 😄
Great to see you enjoying the process. Compared to the past you look way more confident and less stressed.
    Build the legacy 💪
