It’s always confused me why this isn’t more commonplace in the strongman world. Not just little collab videos throughout the training cycles, but actual full strongman camps with other competitors. You’ve gotta face ‘em anyways, let ‘em push you and you push them.
It's a trick. Brian's gonna have them bumped off while they're in Colorado to lessen the competition he will face at worlds. Just kidding. Like you said. Good sportsmanship.
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that, I'm still watching their warmups plate by plate and I'm wondering why on earth is he deadlifting like that.
such different techniques and training approaches What's Evan doing? He's looking super strong but you can see a huge difference between his approach and Brian's approach and well..Brain's pretty good at not getting injured, that's all I'm sayin'
@@CWPWWRESTLING that elephant bar was his nemesis, I've heard that the Arnold's stage was the problem and it injured others as well, probably not great to be deadlifting on a wooden stage and with such a long bar
@DinGo I would like to see Brian take Evan under his wing in the near future. I believe Evan has potential but needs a well-grounded strongman like Brian to help him over come some character flaws.
He does EVERY deadlift like this. Every single rep in training is done like this. He doesn’t even lock it out, or practice the eccentric. Two very important things for comps
I get so fired up watching Brian prep for this years WSM. Even more so when you notice the little things in the video that aren't talked about like the marks from where he had cupping done that shows you how far he's taking his recovery to make sure everything is on point. LET'S GO! 5TH TITLE COMING THIS YEAR BABY!
What an awesome video to build up the hype for WSM! Pretty cool to see all of these guys train together to show their nations best at WSM. Great sportsmanship also!
I like that Brian cotrolled the weight much better even at low weight.. Alot of the other dudes didnt even let the weight hit the floor and they already started walking away.. like they just wanted it done and go..
Yeah I’m no strongman expert, but I’m pretty sure popping those hips forward is a thing they should be doing every rep too, and seeing Evan not bother to do that before throwing the bar back down was less impressive than he wanted it to be lol. Love his intensity though, I hope he can reign it in and have a curse-free shot this year.
Brian has always had very controlled deadlifts. Go look back at the old Arnold’s, and 2016 WSM. Just smooth from the floor all the way to the lock out.
@@Oldlady74 honestly, you’re allowed to critique whatever the hell evan was doing. That form is a joke. That’s not top level, that’s what you see in highschool gyms.
Love to see the intensity and focus in training! This may be Brians last Worlds Strongest Man as a competitor, but he is only getting started as a strongman legend!
Brian, as a Scot I would usually be cheering on Tom Stoltman, but he's got plenty of time to win more titles, so I'm hoping you can go out on a 5th win.
I love deadlifts. I set a new PR at the end of February. I hit 550 lbs at 170 lbs body weight. I had to hitch the heck out of it, but I got it and I got it on video. My goal is 600 within the next few months.
You're killing me Evan. Be more controlled bro! You're one of my favorite athletes, but the emotion you bring every session is going to bite you in the ass.
Thanks for pulling this group together Brian. You’re such a great ambassador for the sport and what the sport will be in the future. Now let’s bring home number 5!!!
Watching one dude bare double-overhand my 1RM like it was nothing while "warming up"... I just... how do human hands get that strong... that's awesome.
Incredible video. IMO it beats watching strongman. Brian is an awesome and generous guy, everyone’s friend. I can only imagine the funky odor in that gym of titans.
Yes it was really peeing me off . These are some of the strongest lifters in the world and to watch him deadlift was not what I would show someone learning.
What Trey is doing is sound training. He’s making sure all his muscles are engaged, taking his time to make sure he gets his hips through. No bloody idea what Evan is doing though 😂
This actually something a lot of really strong deadlifters do, other examples are Pete Rubish, Andrew Hause and Eric Lilliebridge. Essentially you use your warm ups to practice speed of the floor, so that you can move heavy weights faster. This whole comment section is essentially Dunning Krueger effect in action, telling one of the best deadlifters in the world that he's is doing it wrong.
Love this! Sad it's going to be your last World's Strongest, I'm trying to get out there to watch as I have always wanted to watch once at least and mostly if to cheer you on. So hopefully will be there when you get your 5th title!
Heck yeah brother man. Let's go USA... Great work out watching you guys inspired me to work our witch I really have never done. I have been a contractor years. So lift heavy shit has been nothing new busting my ass is what I do. But I do believe it is time to get into much better shape Shaw Strength!!!
Can't stand how Evan deadlifts. He throws the weight down harder than he pulls it up. He's slamming it back down before he even comes close to lockout. Might bite him in the ass one day in comp when he pulls a big boy weight and can't lock it out. As always, Shaws form is flawless!
Let's go Big Shaw! I was just watching the video Loz and Liz did about the groups for WSM and you got it this year! You're looking stronger than ever and this is going to be the year of 5!
It’s cool how even though they compete against each other in the end, they still train alongside each other. Great sportsmanship 💪🏻
It’s always confused me why this isn’t more commonplace in the strongman world. Not just little collab videos throughout the training cycles, but actual full strongman camps with other competitors. You’ve gotta face ‘em anyways, let ‘em push you and you push them.
I mean its very much you versus yourself type of sport. Your competing against them, but its really just you versus the weights.
They want to find the worlds strongest man, they don’t care if it’s themself.
When 4 time worlds strongest man Brian Shaw asks you to train you don't say no.
It's a trick. Brian's gonna have them bumped off while they're in Colorado to lessen the competition he will face at worlds. Just kidding. Like you said. Good sportsmanship.
My boy Trey is out there exploring the stars
The meme with Trey 😂😂😂
Are you really going to compete for the last time
Caught me so off guard 😂
Hilarious, was not expecting that
A masterpiece of art
Haven’t seen the Astronomia meme in awhile 😄
Trey was flying so graceful. Who knew? Strong group of Americans for sure. Pulling for Brian to get WSM #5. The most deserving man on earth.
🏆🇺🇲ABSOLUTELY ❤
I love how Brian is gathering the guys like this. He’s The Godfather of strongman in the US right now for sure.
Godfather of strongman in the World i'd say....
Mans a living legend
I know they are in the top 1% of the strongest man on the planet, but to see how easy 200+kg deadlifts come of the ground is insane
I don't think I'll ever pull more than 250-270kg natural if I could do 300kg I'd be pumped for life but to see them ragdoll 300kg😢
I was just about to say this. It's not about the fact that the weight is heavy, it's how 'light' they make the weight look.
@Invisible man ill be blown away if i could ever pull 400 lb. Thats like a goal for my fitness life lol
They are in the 0.0001% of people actually.
@@bandboy69 I don't know what's your age but it is easily achieveable after a solid 1 year of intermediate powerlifting program
I just love that literally the strongest men on the planet still warm up with 1 plate. So cool, good warm up is key
It’s interesting watching Evan actively try and blow his biceps out.
My bicep tendons hurt watching Evan row those deadlifts.
It’s no wonder why he’s always hurt.
@@brad1215 you took the words right out of my mouth lol
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that, I'm still watching their warmups plate by plate and I'm wondering why on earth is he deadlifting like that.
Evan seems to have an ego about him judging by the way he lifts. Like he's trying to show off by bouncing the weight like that on nearly every rep.
His form actually kinda makes me mad lol

Heart and dedication! I truly hope you win one last time. Such an incredible young man/husband/dad and you deserve this💪🏻❤️
This might be the most fun Shaw video I have seen. I don't know why but watching you all do singles was hypnotizing. Great stuff.
I'm rooting for Brian's 5th WSM championship. Lets go Champ!
Bring it home, Brian!
Yeah! That’s right. I’m rooting for you Brian Shaw. Much love brother. Go be great!

I love this supergroup of strongmen! It's so cool that everyone gets on even though you all compete against each other. 💜
Just awesome! Thank you for letting us see a little smidgen of the actual show :)
Evans ego is a bit annoying honestly especially being in a room full of other strongmen
Right and the way he jerks the bar is even more annoying
Cmon guys its all part of the show. Show some respect for all the athletes who bust their asses to put on a show for yall
That’s just how Evan is. He used to be a WWE wrestler. He loves the show part of strongman just as much as the feats of strength.
A nation's elite training together shortly before competition - not something you see often. 👍👍👍💪💪💪
