  • When you hear the word "villa", you automatically think luxury. But runny toilets, hidden electric bills, and lukewarm showers are some of the issues you'll run into if you stick around long enough. In this video we explore one Sosua villa and go beyond the doctored pics and sunny reviews to uncover the ugly truth.

For vacation La Mulata is fine but for retirement I want as much security, peace and quite as possible and that is why I like Casa Linda.

Casa Linda is so much safer reason that guest must leave ID with security and u have to go with guest to recieve Id , thus showing u are still alive , didn't get robbed which is possible easy to get drugged if ur not careful and wake ups with all ur belonging gone.

    1500 a month for that? That's robbery!

Yeah, it's all relative. Better than Casa Linda though. I personally prefer a tradeoff of less security for more freedom

Nice video man. I thought I was the only one who was complaining in paradise.😂 On my last trip to DR the hotel resort I booked was filthy. I'm gonna go the villa route next time. So I appreciate the great information.

Yeah man, since I've filmed this I've also battled bad sliding doors and drapes that fall down. These villas are not mansions... they're vacation homes someone threw together to make some money.

All that glitters is not Gold. I travel one-away so I will never need a villa. I'm happy with my condo or hotel as long as it got ac wifi cable hot water a iron and a kitchen.

Find a reputable agency, at least 10 years in the market, newbies are not committed to quality services in many cases. Covid has seen a rise in new "agents" with zero experience posting on social networks, so don`t expect the best from most of those. Now looking at the propane location, that is a big NO. Eveyone in DR has the propane outside the house, in case there`s an emergency. BTW, when you hear the term luxury you should expect to pay $3k or more a month, that house is nowhere near that price ( I know the place since it was being built ).

Come on man, don't tell me to go and criticize the cords to hang the clothes and you say that's how it is here in RD?
I live in the USA and I do the same I hang my clothes in the sun I don't want my electricity bill to go too high I already have enough with the AC running almost 24/7
You pay for that beauty of property 1500 a month with pool and almost new looks in good condition
I pay almost 1700 I do not pool an old property they do not make any fixes the AC is leaking the water is going through the floor I have to do the maintenance of the garden myself etc.
This in South Florida near Miami I wanted to change but something like that house here is at least 3,000 US per month
