They added what was needed, to balance out the fragile1st round talent up top with some veteran grit and leadership on the bottom, bottom 6 players have always been Lindys kind of players , players who grind and finish checks whose style he can relate to.

Really building up the bottom 6 to improve on D. This works if you’re looking to hold onto leads, the ability of the top 6 to win the +/- determines how successful you’ll be. Having two really strong lines both offensively and defensively gives a head coach some options to manage ice time and play situational hockey. I don’t know if they’re going for that build concept but that’s what Edmonton needs to do to win. I don’t know if we have the skills position players to pull it off so we might end up not playing a lot of these guys. But, if we can start scoring again like we did a few years ago? They could win a lot of games with two distinct lines better suited for offense or defense. If you have a top six scoring a lot of goals and a nasty bottom six keeping the puck out of the net? You could win a Cup…

Love the new 4th line-Malenstyn Lafferty and Aubel-Kubel. Adams, please sign Adam Henrique or make a trade as the 3rd line centre because God help us if Krebs is the 3rd line centre!

I think we are find in the top 5 as long as Quinn stays healthy. Have Benson play in Skinners spot on the top line. Leave the 2nd line alone. For the 3rd line Krebs Zucker and Greenway should be a good line. Have 1 of the younger places play on this line or replace 1 of the players if injured in the top 6 and we should be good. The 4th line is correctly built now as well.

There's still time for one significant move via trade to get people excited again, whether that optimism is warranted or not is another debate. I do think that Lindy has never had any decent center-men during his stretch as a Sabres coach. We were always AWFUL and other times highly over rated up the middle when he was here. Tage and Cozens are definitely better than anything he's ever had to work with before. The question is, are they a #1 and #2 center on a winning team or are they #2 and #3 centers? Some say Tage should be moved to wing. Whatever allows him to play 80 games.
I'm hoping for the trade and willing to see what Lindy can do even if it doesn't happen. I honestly don't see how coaching is going to be the excuse if this all goes south in the next two years. Be ready Kevyn, the finger is going to be pointed at you! There's no one else left to take the fall.

Cool. We have 10 4th liners and we have about 10 prospects that’ll be ready to go around the same time. With not many spots for them all.. jeez. Use some of your damn prospects to upgrade the current top 6.. don’t even get me going on all the money to spend too.. Adams is sleepwalking as a GM. He’s clueless and afraid to pull the trigger on a big move

Lysowski said, "Lafferty won 51 % of his faceoffs last year" Jeez, now I can sleep at night. At the margins, I like a couple of the additions, but this team was 30 points behind the first place Rangers. Nibbling at the edges with minor improvements is fine, but insufficient. Stop setting the bar at making the playoffs! That's not good enough. Too many people will be thrilled to make the playoffs and then get trounced in the first round. Just another name for failure. The goal is building a team to win the Stanley Cup.

Everyone hates on Adams but I think playing the long game is how we will grow our team into Stanley Cup champions. I love what you are saying though. These are what our fans need to be talking about.

I don't know, when they drafted Power, all I heard was how much he liked to throw the body in juniors...

We need to be patient with the young players. 21 year olds don’t become tough over night. Let’s see how Power, Cozens, etc play when they can grow a beard. The toughness will come with a good system.

The Sabres just bought out a bad contract. Why rush right back into another bad contract. Who is out there that would move the needle for this team?

Who is out there...is right. Without having to vastly overpay to even get them to consider coming to Buffalo, It's the same with trying to trade for anybody of note. I have to think any player out there that could possibly "move the needle" as you say probably has Buffalo on their "no trade" list.
