Kastle is replacing their FX (free-cross) series of skis, which is a collection we've sold and skied ourselves quite a bit over the years. Now, they deliver Paragon, which will be offered in three waist widths: 93, 101, and 107. These skis feature two full sheets of metal, and their shape mirrors that of the freeride ZX collection. Matt is here with his first takes after spending some time on the Paragon at Crested Butte.

Good Stuff Matt. I am on the 96FX ti and I think it rips just tail doesn't release how I would like it to sometimes . What does the Paragon gain or do better, easier to release the tail or the main difference besides the shape? Feel? How does it compare to the '25 Enforcer 94? Thx guys

The Paragon borrows its shape from the ZX, which is more of a freeride (and releasable) shape than the FX. So I think it releases smoother than the FX. It's got more metal, too, though, so it also feels more like a tank than the FX. Compared to the new Enforcer, I think the tail releasability is similar. The Paragon, I think, feels more powerful.

Looking forward to seeing this ski. More metal? What will the weight be and the weight compared to the '25Enforcer? Can you say trade in Program! See you guys soon. @@powder7skis

Lucky enough to have owned several MX, BMX, Fx skis over the years.
The FX95HP and BMX105-115 shapes were Kastle's best freeride designs. Glad to hear their heading more in that direction again. I liked the FX106HP but it wasn't quite Kastle damp and would have benefited from a bit more rocker and taper - but man did it carve for a 106! I owned a ZX108 briefly in 192, I should have gone 184/186 and just felt it wasnt the progressive design it was billed as. Not enough tail rocker, too soft in the shovel, and not the charger the old BMX's were. I sold it for a Rustler 11 as my pow ski and it was a good move. Again I hear the 100 and 115 are better skis.
Other reviews peg the 93 as playful but strong, 101 really well rounded and the 107 as the full gas charger of the group.
Can't wait for more in depth reviews or to demo them.

I love that ZX 100! I hear you on the shape, it doesn't have as much rocker to be as comparable to other "playful" skis. But I think the shape works really well on the 100 size, nimble and intuitve enough for frontside skiing.
I skied the Paragon 107, and full gas is a good way to describe it (especially in big CB steep bumps!) . Our testers found the narrower ones to be quite supportive, and the 93 is a particularly good carver. I'm excited to get on them more this season, and we'll definitely share more details as we get more laps on them and in more snow! -Alex

I traded my pair of FX 96 HP that I got from Power 7 for a pair of Enforcer 104 Free.. My experience of the FX 96 HP was that they were way too reactive for me.. My skiing style I prefer damp.. How do these skis compare to the Stormrider and Enforcer skis?
