    I don’t get the boa. It’s not any harder or time consuming to buckle two buckles, and those two barely require any tightening anyway. What am I missing?

      The meat 🥩.
      Boa isn’t a time saving improvement…
      The lower shell squeezes differently.
      I won’t be getting it, I’m a late adopter

      A common complaint of traditional buckles is that they create a pressure point because they push down on the area that they are attached on the boot. In theory a cable closure system more evenly pulls the overlapping lower boot shell across and eliminates pressure points. The buckle pressure point complaint is usually the second buckle that closes over the instep. If you actually operate and used a Boa you can watch how it closes the lower boot shell. However it is a personal preference thing when you actually try different boot models on your feet. It’s a very subjective thing. Having a low instep and favoring low volume models the BOA models that I tried on didn’t close tight enough because they were mid volume. However I can understand why it would be beneficial for other skiers.

      @@thomasmedeiros5722 That makes sense. I'm still going to wait and see how it plays out first. I also have a low instep and prefer Lange boots. I can't imagine it will benefit me at this point but I might check it out

      @@thomasmedeiros5722 This is very true. Most of my traditional boots need to have the second buckle punched out. One less customization on the BOA one

      Fischer RC4 Pro w/boa. It's an excellent boot, boa works great. Don't knock it til you try it buddy, remember skiing before rocker?

    Thank you for the overview! Could you recommend few hybrid boots for a low volume (skinny) foot with low instep? My ski boots are the 2023 Nordica Pro Machine 120 (good fit out of the box, need touch better heel hold) and 2022 atomic Redster STI 130 (worked with my bootfitter). 2024 Scarpa 4-Quattro fits pretty good, I like its snug fit. But I want touch heavier boots. Another hybrid boots I tried (all 2022 Lange, Rossignol Tecnica hybrid boots, 2023 Fischer Ranger and Head Kore) are too roomy over instep.

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah most hybrids sit in that medium volume range. I would suggest also trying the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD.

    Hello! I was wondering whether the new 2025 Salomon Supras are getting the same updated BOA as was shown in the new shift alphas, the one that engages more of the heel/instep section via that strap thing. On that note are there any changes for the Supras from last year at all, including graphics? Thanks!

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  4 месяца назад

      I think they have kept the same original anchor for the BOA cable on the Supras. (not the strap like the Shift) Colourways I am not sure sorry.

    I need to replace some ancient boots, but hard to give up on something comfy. Garmont shoguns are the only boots that my feet have ever been happy in. Any idea on a similar fit in a non discontinued company?

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  4 месяца назад +1

      I never worked with the Garmonts unfortunately. Maybe something like the Scott Cosmos or Freeeguides could fit the bill.

    Boot aerodynamics, really! Seriously! I wonder what bozo in the marketing dept. came up with that idea.🤣🤣🤣

  • @CC-ys8qq
    @CC-ys8qq 3 месяца назад

    When you tighten the BOA there are gaps in the plastic, snow gets inside and melts and the liners get wet. In addiction to not being able to get a more defined fit, do not like. Lange RS ridiculous marketing aerodynamics? How about improved fit.

      @@PatriotFootbeds a year behind?……. It seems like you’ve up to speed on all the other brands. Boa is a nice closure tech. Most people need help getting in their boots, not closing them. That’s the solution Rossi is bringing, with four buckle overlap boot performance. In a year of “we now have Boa too” Rossi is bringing something different and very relevant to market needs. As a top tier boot shop you should know about it by now.
