    Greetings from Whistler BC. I have been skiing the Shadow 130LV and have about 35 days on them thus far and loving the dual pivot tech. I found your review helpful in setting up mine and have been tweaking the canting and flex elastomers. I am longtime RX and RS user and found the black elastomers the closest to my RX 130LV's from last year with a most continuous flex and feel on the snow. I did also ad a 3mm spacer under the liner as I found these LV's slightly higher volume my RX's. Possibly the new liner technology is packing out faster as well. Thanks again for the review.

    Most in depth review of these boots by far. Thank you

    Great review of a great boot. Softened everything up after watching your video. Can't wait to try them with the changes.

    Are they going to make the Shadow with a last of 102?

    Can the boot be modified to soften the flex beyond what is achieved by the elastomers? Had a bootfitter say this type of plastic (specifically on the 110) doesn't respond well to shaving down the cuff.

    Kind of reminds me of the K2 Spyne boots from years ago

    The spoiler at the back of the liner will help with chicken legs (shin bang)? Great review thanks.

    Great review, this boot looks very promising. I was looking for a boot with walk mode for some extra comfort as my next boot ....how do you rate walk mode in general? Are they too much of compromise? Who offers the best compromise in terms of comfort/performance? Cheers.

      @PatriotFootbeds  9 месяцев назад +2

      Walk mode in general is good. Just depends if you are using it for backcountry touring or just better carpark walking. Boots with some of the better walk modes would be - K2 Mindbender, Tecnica Cochise, Atomic Hawx XTD, Salomon Shift

    I have this boot after process of elimination with a boot fitter but for the life of me I don't see where the alleged cuff adjustment is. Am I crazy or something?

    thank you for a great in-depth review. you have not mentioned anything about thermoforming the boot shell, is it possible?

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you. Yes this boot doesn't respond very well to shell molding. more focus is on the liner.

      As a ski shop guy I always enjoy Craig’s reviews. Although we are not a Lange dealer I love to learn what new ideas are out on the market. Hope you had a great winter season down under. Here in North America we are just getting started. 👍🙏⛷⛷❄️

      Just FYI the shell can be molded or “punched” by a bootfitter. I recommend doing that to target specific areas that need attention rather than creating unnecessary space through the rest of the boot.
      Also if you don’t have a pair, footbeds make all the difference for hot spots/rubbing in ski boots.

    I tried them this week at the boot fitter shop. I ended up taking the LX130 HV because the volume was more critical to me, but the fit was pretty close for me, even if this one is a MV. I would have taken them in HV.The flex seems more progressive or smoother maybe on this one? It felt slightly better on the flex than the LX while walking around the shop. I guess you really need to take it out on the mountain to feel the difference.

      Yes I would agree. This boot really shines once out there driving them on skis. Just standing in the boot flexing doesn't do them justice.

    Hello! I watched the video and bought a pair size 28.5 (after different boot fitter sugestions). The problem is, my 2nd toe doesn't fit confortable. Should I go for a bigger size or go and punch it? I m between the sizes (287mm) and I thin 29/29.5 will be too big

    • @PatriotFootbeds
      @PatriotFootbeds  4 месяца назад

      Yeah I wouldn't recommend going bigger. First look to a footbed, let the liner settle in or stretch the liner toebox first and then lastly punch the shell or increase your ramp angle.

    Great review out there! Thanks man! from Maui, HI! But, heads up with the LV, they do not feel like 97 mm last at all, it feels more like a relaxed 99! I had many 97 or 98 mm ski boots and this shadows are designed to fit out of the box. Almost for like a week long skier. I skied them 48 days........

    It's not a pivot, you can't have 2 pivots - rather it's a peg in an oversize hole with an elastomer around it - actually this is quite clever as it can stiffen the boot at the back in an additional place - my only reticence is the size of these small elastomer pieces - I think they'll be under a lot of stress so i wonder how they'll last and also their stiffness when hot or cold. I assume the designers have considered all these factors...Maybe there's spares a plenty with the technicians...

    That’s a real solid review and boot Craig, amazing and great to see how much of a leap some boots have made in the past year. And some not so much lol. 9/10 is great score. Happy days! 🎿

    Constructive Feedback: When the camera is up close to your hands...make sure you clean and trim your finger nails! I looks terrible with dirty gnarly nails up close.

    why on earth did they not make the power strap removable so you can put on a booster strap? stupid
