Great review - maybe the most comprehensive boot review I've ever watched! Will keep this in mind for my next boot. Thanks

I tried them this week. They felt great, a bit more comfy or more progressive flex than the lx130, but ended up with the LX as I needed a HV. It's true though that the difference of volume was not so notable and they appear quite wide for a MV.

Good review. Looking at this boot since I am tall with skinny legs and feet, my current Technica Cochise 120 99mm boots have a loose heel pocket and they just don't fit. Skiing is fun!

I have the RX 130's and have had them since they came out. They fit perfectly with no modifications. This is the 2nd review I've seen talking about how the LV has a more generous last than the standard RX. Would you go so far as to say the Shadow LV fits like the RX 100mm. Initially, I bought my 1st pair of RX's in 2016 at a shop but since then have bought a replacement pair online and not had any issues. If the Shadow LV fits like the RX, I'd get them online at some point but if there's any question that the MV might fit better, maybe I should try both lasts in a shop first?

First, We always suggest supporting your local bootfiitter, for purchases. Second, the fit is deceptive, while it feels more generous witht eh new liner, the performance and control is there.

I replied to your comment and initially it displayed then went away so here goes again. For some reason, that's happening to replies. You can only comment.
That's quite intersting about not changing graphics for 2 years. I don't blame them for that. It always puzzles me why comapnies can't just leave well enough alone. They'll discontinue a style or color yet keep the same model for the following year. And I'd guess sometimes changing the graphics with the assumption that'll increase sales because it's"new" backfires. Sometimes, next year's graphics suck and they would've been better off just giving the current year's graphics a chance to sell themselves. In any case, my 2nd pair of RX 130's only have a season and 1/2 on them, so at least the shells are good for another year or 2 and I bought replacement liners from Lange this spring since liners always wear out faster. I'm sure there'll be plenty more reviews of these boots by the time I need a new pair but thanks for the review anyway.

Thanks. I'm sure as a bootfitter, that would be your suggestion. Let me clarify... I bought my 1st pair of RX130's at a store. They fit perfectly out of the box, so when the time came to replace them, I bought a 2nd pair online to save money. Why wouldn't I? They were an exact replacement. My question remains given what you said about the increase in volume of the new Shadow lasts, would a 97mm last fit equivalently to last year's RX in 100mm?

And as a bootfitter, I will have to say, "depends on the foot". As far as buying on line, I honestly do not expect any deals on these boots (much) away from MAP pricing for at least a year and a half. Many manufacturers including Lange have gone to two year graphic cycles so there will be no reason to discount these later this season. So if you are planning on waiting due to price, you will be watiting a while, and if you are in a boot that is in need or replacement, that is money not well saved.

What does low volume or high volume mean

    • @MusaA1i

Basically, it's narrow foot vs wide foot (often it also means more room above your foot too)

Dual pivot is just a bunch of marketing department bullshit! I kind of reminds of the Nordica Grand Prix from the late 70’s.

They feel like a 99 mm last. Another ski boots ready of the box to fit general public and one week skiers. Heads up people, this it might be a $850 mistake!

While they might not fit your foot, it does not mean they fit other feet. I know a lot of high level skiers, not one week skiers, that are skiing this boot very well.
