It looks like a lot of the drivers at 4:40 are thinking that the 40kph is just a suggestion , not a law some are even exceeding as if it's a race or F-1 event , dangerous!!

@ 915. It may be tempting to follow an Ambo' in such situations but please don't. Ambo's hate that as they may have to stop out of the blue (and fast) depending on what happens in front of them.
At the very least ask yourself, if I ran into the back of them, how would I live that down? At most, you may be the reason for a person/people dying who could have otherwise be saved.

Anyone who puts kids, and others but especially kids, at risk like that deserves to be treated like that.

The tanker is not at fault because the road lines just stop, there fore the vehicle which is ahead has priority. Where the lines are dotted, the vehicle in the main lane has priority and the lane that is ending must give way

True, so many drivers either don't know how to signal at a roundabout or are just too lazy. You are extra vulnerable on a bike.

8:58, I could not spot the 'STOP' sign in the clip BUT there is a clearly marked unbroken line across the road that the yellow car came out which means the EXACT same thing, not to mention that they also came out of a 'T' intersection where they have to give way to everyone that is on the through road, Left AND Right.
@gregedwards1087, I have noticed for a long time that a lot of drivers have no clue what the different lines on roads at intersections actually mean any more!! I believe that they take the place if the road signs are missing.
Plus they did not stop.

Confused with a lot of drivers here @ 1:45 at the merge. Please correct me if I am wrong! The Australian Road Rules state if there NO zipper line the vehicle in front HAS RIGHT OF WAY. The nose of the car is in front of the truck, the truck must yeild.

It is illegal to cross over a solid lane dividing line.
It is also a must to follow lane marking. If the lane is marked with a arrow either left or right NORMALLY also within a solid line you MUST TURN. Its not optional.
The problem is people dont want to be stuck behind a truck for all of 10 seconds, think they can make it past cause they have more power, yet fail. 100% the cars fault.
I don’t think any of the drivers in this collection know or care about those rules 😮
I’m not 100% sure but it looked like the car was behind the truck when the white line ended, meaning the truck would have right of way.. I’ll have to rewatch it again…
Edit: oh and as for a zipper line the law states the vehicle in the ending lane must give way to all traffic in the open continuing lane… Zipper merges aren’t law they’re curtesy, and if the dotted line dividing the lanes ends abruptly then the vehicle in front has right of way, if the dotted lines vers off to the shoulder or centre of the road then the vehicle in the ending lane must give way to all traffic in the open continuing lane
The truck did everything correctly, the car was never in front of the truck (so the truck has right of way in this instance) and it is called a 'Zip-Merge' when the lane markings end, the car was at fault. It is also smart to stay out of the way of large vehicles and give them the room to manoeuvre, especially on their left (blind) side. There was no 'Solid' line either.
I am assuming that when you say 'Zipper line' that you mean the line that continues as a shorter dotted line after the normal longer lane dividing line until the lane ends and anyone in those ending lanes have to give way to everyone else.
Yes that is the law but in this situation people should use common sense and let the truck go first. You can't expect a truck to slow down as easy as a car. You should also keep in mind the trucks blind spots.
You’re 100% correct, if the white line ends suddenly into 1 lane then yes the car ahead has right of way, as for a zipper merge there’s no such law, the car in the lane ending must give way to vehicles in the open continuing lane!! A zipper merge as people call it is not law it’s courtesy…
Well, it's back to your state's road rule book for you. Look it up and don't drive again until you have learnt all about zip merges. They do exist.

I'm interested in who is at fault in the last clip. Is it purely the car that ran into the back of the one that had to suddenly stop, or is the car that swerved partially to blame?

1:49, the white car is at fault, it is a Zip-Merge, the vehicle that is in front has the right of way when the broken lines that divide the lanes ends. Most trucks are relatively blind in that area down on their left so don't get caught there in the first place.

8:22 - It's called a yield line you impatient git. And there are at least 2 cars coming around to that part of the round-about that I for one would prefer to know where they are going before pulling out in front of them on a scooter.

I can understand that the police have a hard enough job as it is and yes I agree that the mother should never have endangered her kids like that and be arrested etc but seriously was there any need for the Police to rip her out of the car like that and smash her face into the pavement (6.00). What if she was already badly injured from the crash or worst still pregnant with another child. This is where I believe the Police overstep the mark between a lawful arrest and Police brutality.
It looked like she was resisting/refusing to exit the vehicle so police pulled her out and cuffed her but without seeing what went on before and after that part of the clip, it's difficult to determine the circumstances (pregnant, injured, intoxicated, etc.) which led to her arrest.
