- Dutch Apple Pie in Winkel 43 - 6.5€ - Six euro is a lot, but you will get a huge portion of Apple Pie with the greedy portion of cream. Absolutely no regrets. It’s good for sharing but don’t be afraid to go for one pie per person. You can’t stop eating it until the plate is clean.

Poffertjes - 3€ - The traditional poffertjes are with sugar and a big slice of butter. They were absolutely spectacular. I am always amazed when simple food tastes this good. You can add extra toppings for 50p each.
Stroopwafels - 1.5-4€ I wanted to try the original stroopwafels at the stall (Original Stroopwafels) in the Albert Cyupmarkt in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, the guy who makes the original stroopwafels was on holiday. Bummer. But good for him. He surely deserves his holidays 🙂Based on the reviews and photos on the internet I would still encourage you to go there even if I hadn’t the chance to try them.
I went to the second most recommended place, the van Wonderen Stroopwafels. Stroopwafels in there definitely look good on Instagram. As, usual, I think that all the fancy toppings with marshmallows and smarties look good, but they are absolutely not necessary and rather kill the original flavor of the Stroopwafel. I went for the best-seller, the Kletskop Stroopwafel with a typical Dutch cookie made of peanuts and caramel. And it was very good.
Tompouce - (price unknown, the box in the supermarket went for 3€, but I would expect the price for one slice in the better patisserie to be around that mark). Apparently, the best place where to try the tompouce is at the Patisserie Holtkamp. Just don’t go there on Sunday. Apparently, all bakers have their well-deserved rest on Sunday and the only Tompouce you can get is from the supermarket. Based on their website and reviews on the internet this place
looks amazing and I will definitely go there next time I will be in Amsterdam. And not only for tompouce.

This channel is exactly my cup of tea! 😊👍. Nice work. Keep going. Btw, I knew it immediately that you are Slovak from your accent 😆. Though, very solid English. Cheers
Holtkamp's tompouce is great, but also the HEMA is very famous for its tompouce! Oh, and stroopwafels are certainly a typical Dutch snack, but it's only since a couple of years that they put chocolate, nuts etc. on them (and I honestly think only tourists eat them that way, I think real Dutch people like their stroopwafels just the way they are 😉).
I agree. It's the same with poffertjes.

My mother was Dutch. We grew up in Southern California where, for a time, Dutch taartjes were delivered to our house out of the back of a bread wagon. They came from bakeries in Artesia, California. My favorites were the round and boat-shaped ones. They were marzipan in a pastry shell, topped with a light frosting and icing. Does that sound familiar? The bakeries have all closed now, but I'm on my way to Amsterdam this summer for the first time. I don't see any pictures of them on the Internet, and I'm afraid I won't be able to find them in Holland. Maybe they were a Dutch inspired creation made for Americans.
Bokkepoot? Was there chocolate on the sides?
Wow, what a heavenly thing to grow up with! And I grew up outside Chicago freezing in the cold waiting for the schoolbus most mornings. No Dutch pastries delivered to our house! I had hot coffee and an apple.
This guy is so sincere
Wow new series
Awesome
omg, love dutch desserts!! especially the dutch almond cookie. i had the best cookie of my life at a pastry shop in amsterdam. didn't get the name, i just know how to get there from the train station... great vid once again!
I am from the netherlands and i think you are talking about ‘’gevulde koeken’’ or litterally transated ‘’filled cookies. maybe google it and find a picture?
@@samuelz05 Yes, that's it! Thanks. I tried a couple of them, but the recipes differed. The one that blew me away was from a particular pastry/cake shop.. it was in the corner of an intersection right by a canal... I sure will locate it on my next visit..

Hi...come to Portugal and try our pastries 😍😉.
Hi Elle, I am actually going to Portugal this year. 😀 Do you have any suggestions which desserts I definitely shouldn't miss?
@@TimeToDessert Well you should try the world famous "Pastel de Belem"...its close to Lisbon. Also in Coimbra region we have a village called Tentugal. There you find a very old tradition of pastries made with egg yolks like the" pastel de tentugal", "queijadas"..you will love it im sure. In Aveiro you have "ovos moles". All amazing.😍😍😍
Thank you so much. I checked it and I just can't wait to try it all. I will be traveling from South to Porto and all these wonderful places are on the way, so it's just perfect. Thank you 🙏
