I really enjoyed this video! I am in the middle of customizing a reproduction of a 1960's Barbie. and I wanted her to have a flip hair do and now I have an idea on how to accomplish it! and I like the no bangs too! and I am going to repaint her lips and give her blush and again thank you for showing me.

As always, your work of art is stunning! It just tickles me pink when you give the girls green eyes, that's what I have and in the doll world it's pretty rare! How old is the vintage Skippers supposed to be? 10, 11, 12? Now the Skippers are what, 16? The Skipper that has her first job at Target? She's cute but doesn't look like a little girl anymore! Beautifully done! Can't wait for the next makeover! ♥♥♥
Mattel created her to be 8 years old originally (this doll).. I was going to keep her hair rolled up at the shoulders like the No bangs Francie has but it made her look much older so I straightened it a bit. Straightening it somewhat worked but I'd say she does look older then 8.. ughh.. I've been thinking about a head full of curls for Skipper. I may try that soon.

Love her! I may do my next Skipper's hair this way. I am not able to do the eyes like you, since I am not an artist. I did Barbie's eyes once and it was a real struggle.

I love how you expand on a good idea (no bangs) and make it your own. So creative!! My question is about sealing: How many times do you seal? Do you seal the eyepaint before you add lashes? Do you seal the lips? If yes, I am sure you cover the lashes, correct? Thanks for always sharing your techniques😀
Thank you :) I use a little varnish (sealer) in with my paint while painting and then spray the face with Mr Clear when I'm finished. The lashes get glued from the inside and they do receive a little sealer from the Mr. Clear. :)

I think it's like a form of crepe fabric.. I've been holding onto scrap material for years and finally found a use for it! hahaha
Skipper looks fantastic April! 😍 Cute dress too, very fitting 😁 Did you learn to paint on your own or did you have some instruction? I think I could use a reference book or something. I just repainted some lips. One was alright, the other I thought I was pleased with but someone commented that they were too full, so now I removed the paint and will try again. It’s difficult to get the proportions just right 😞 I’ve never attempted to do the eyes but I’d like to some day. I love seeing your restorations, you do such beautiful work 💕

I love this!!! Do you use Saran hair or nylon?
In this video I'm using saran but I do use nylon from time to time. Difference to me is saran is softer but nylon holds curls better.
