I think Kelly makes this channel how she’s so patient when she doesn’t have anything to eat and she’s watching her family eat that she sits there and waits until her options are available. Bless you, Kelly. I’ll keep watching just watch you thank you.
Thank you for your kind words ❤ It makes me happy to see my family experiencing and enjoying traditional foods. That’s the best part of traveling and I never want to take that away from them. There is always plenty of food for me to eat, it just might not be at every stop. Jonathan tries really hard to find us a nice balance, which I appreciate. I love watching the kids try local foods with their dad 🙌
There are lots of vegetarian restaurants around hochiminh city. Search in happy cow website you will find lots of vegetarian foods. Vegetarian mean “Chay” . Ask for Pho chay (Vegan pho) or Do chay (Vegetarian food) .lots of places have vegetarian buffet
Yeah, I agree. Kelly doesn’t complain when the menu doesn’t have any vegetables or vegetarian options. She doesn’t get hangry 🤣 bless your heart, Kelly! 🥰
I am a Vietnamese but now i am studying and living in Russia now.I miss my country dishes so much and when i saw your videos about Vietnam, i said wow. That is amazing, about your family, your reactions, the boys reactions, your girl reactions, they are so cute and everything about your travel, walking around and try Vietnamese foods. I'm very very happy and proud that you like the food there.
I can't stop saying how much I enjoy watching urban kids, as much as I enjoy watching you and ur wife, your kids steals the show. They are so well behaved and so adorable ❤
Kelly is a great wife and mom for being how patient she is throughout the filming process. As for the variety of bananas, I recall VN have so many different types. I would think Indonesia (I believe you live and work in Indonesia ?!?!?) would be the same. I remember VN bananas are very fragrant, and those bananas have a long shelf life even as ripe bananas. Even if the skin had gone dark for a long time, the inside is still abit spongy/chewy and is still good and doesn't go bad like Chiquita bananas we have here in the US. The other thing I noticed is that the bananas in VN are very very fragrant. I had moved back to the US for 10 yrs now and don't smell the fragrance of the bananas we have here even if they are ripe. They are smaller too, kind of cute actually. Hope you guys are enjoying yourselves and will be able to get the kids to do some fun things like water park or the beach.
Kelly! You’re spot on about the variety of bananas in Asia - grilled, fried, steamed. This is the first time I’m learning about the grilled banana sticky rice dessert from Vietnam.
The small stacked petri dishes at the Pho restaurants are meant for soy sauce + chili sauce, Vietnamese dip the beef in that when eating Pho, or you could skip it. Adorable kids, especially the little one.
I hope this gets to you in time please read it carefully Vietnam has the largest vegetarian community in Southeast Asia everything that you have been eating since day one in Vietnam has a vegetarian version of it like vegetarian Pho, Banh Mi, and more.
Love those earrings Cedar got from two videos ago! Haha, Forest has always liked fried dough and now dipping in the pho broth is a plus! So cute seeing Forest being expressive like his experience eating duck at 3 years old and witnessing the crab ❤
Hi guys I’ve been watching a few episodes and been observing you guys. First off I wanted to say how awesome your family is and how the MRS gives off helen hunt vibes. Doing great guys have a good one!
Yes, I agree that Forest is becoming more vocal & all your kids are very well-behaved 👍 I am glad you guys are having all the good food & I am so happy that Kelly & Cedar (mum & daughter) are having such relaxed time; I like that too !😊
Really love watching your travel videos especially the Vietnam series. There are a lot of great vegetarian 'chay' food options in Vietnam that I wish you could take Kelly to and to also get everyone experiencing the veggie options that Vietnam has to offer
I’m in the states and watching you eat all these delicious Vietnamese foods makes me want to google my local Vietnamese restaurants in my area and go there, but probably not the same.❤
Hi! I think at 26:30, the red thing you thought was date is a jujube fruit. It is used in soup to make the soup sweet. And seeing all the plates, I would think the restaurant has a cantonese oriented dishes.
Forest is a big boy already.. just love to watch him talking all the way and hes actions was soooooo cuteeee!!!! We want to kiss forest!!! Ur fans from Singapore! 🫰
I'm pretty sure the dark, sweet sauce [in the beginning along with the hot-sauce for the Pho], you had was Hoisin sauce. I like to dip the meat in it, chicken, beef, etc. If you're not a fish sauce fan, stay away from the shrimp paste, haha. And yes, there is definitely a difference between Northern and Southern Pho. I found that Pho even vary shop to shop in the same city. Also, if you're a big crab / seafood fan, do some Ba/nh Canh Cua when you got time. To die for. So good. The closest thing I can describe Ba/nh Canh is Japanese Udon.
The black sauce and red hot sauce always good for PHO and dipping on the sides.......lime can be added to both if you want ...the balls looks like sesame balls with usually yellow beans with coconut on the inside what ur wife was eating..there is a few variety too....the banana usually they come with white coconut sauce and can be found in a can too poured all over with peanuts
Some of those pho bowls should have chop green onions in them, I’ve never seen pho bowls without green onions in the beef broth. Think that pork bun is called banh bao. I like getting banh bao and banh mi for breakfast along with pho for breakfast. The pastry his wife ate is like a fried beignet with sweet beans paste inside.
Try Bung Bo Hue sometime you will like it, you are very lucky get to eat all these delicious food with fraction of the price. I am in Florida and I am salivating from watching you guys eat.
We will definitely try that next time 🙌 The prices are so good and we always try to eat some many things 😂 It is so fun to explore a country’s culture through food. ❤️
I think Kelly makes this channel how she’s so patient when she doesn’t have anything to eat and she’s watching her family eat that she sits there and waits until her options are available. Bless you, Kelly. I’ll keep watching just watch you thank you.
Yeah she’s super nice

The way Forrest tucked into that duck. Hahaha. Excellent. I can't believe that whole lunch was 26 bucks.

The grape-like fruit is Jujube.. apple date.. very common in Chinese cooking, has some medicinal properties...
Me and my family are going Vietnam next year. We can’t wait to try all the food.
You are going to have a great trip!!

Nhìn mấy đứa nhỏ thật sự rất đáng yêu
11:27 , that filling is mungo bean sweet paste.
11:29 I believe that’s green bean paste inside. They make it slightly sweet.
Thank you for sharing your trip.🇺🇸🍷👍😎
Some of those pho bowls should have chop green onions in them, I’ve never seen pho bowls without green onions in the beef broth. Think that pork bun is called banh bao.
