    I am Vietnamese but I was born after the war. In the hearts of Vietnamese people, there is always a high national spirit. We would rather sacrifice to be independent than to be slaves. War is not about using weapons. Modernity is about winning, it is important to have planning and determination, Ho Chi Minh has done that❤

      Go to check out the local cemetery, find out how many VCs were killed inside the tunnel at the same time by gas, I didn't buy this tunnel spirit propaganda, survival level was not higher than a rat.

    I like your family. You have allowed your children to witness and learn about the truest historical values of Vietnam with their own eyes. Surely they have learned valuable lessons about war and peace. We opened the Cu Chi Tunnels so that many young Vietnamese generations can know about Vietnam's heroic history and appreciate what they have in the present. My children also came to Cu Chi at the same age as your children. They go with their classmates and teachers as an elementary school field trip activity. I still remember they had talk a lot about what they witnessed after that trip.

    I went to the tunnels when I was there in 2023! Pretty amazing and frankly it aptly explains why the USA was never going to win that war! I really was in awe of vietnamese ingenuity!

    Always enjoy viewing your vlogs. Granit, Cedar and Forest are such wonderful children. At such a young age, they are very open-minded and willing to experience and try new things. The Vietnam war was a terrible time for everyone on all sides. It serves as a sad reminder that there are never any winners in war, everyone suffers and everyone loses out.

    • @Kelly.BagsPackedFamily
      @Kelly.BagsPackedFamily 5 месяцев назад

      So much suffering. It’s a good reminder that history wasn’t history that long ago, and we all need to continue to work on keeping the peace. It starts at home, teaching our kids to be peaceful and kind, and we need to support it in school. Then, spread that to our local community and into our global communities. It’s a lot of hard work, but we can do hard things ❤️

    All I can think about when you say Vietnam is the war. I was a kid at the time. They showed video of the war constantly and they gave an count of the dead soldiers every day. We wore pow ID bracelets in honor of the missing. It was a sad time.

      Super sad, incredibly heartbreaking to hear the stories and then to imagine all the soldiers (from all sides) and civilians trying to survive in the tunnels and the heat and the traps. War is tough, no one walks away unchanged. 💔 You might enjoy reading The Women, it’s a fictional story based on the experiences of the army nurses. I cried through the whole book.

    Oh my, the tunnels! I was in Vietnam many years ago on an exchange trip as a student. I remember entering one of the tunnels and feeling scared for a moment because it was pitch black (I'm scared of the dark). I remember saying, 'Oh my god, where is the exit?!' and the person in front of me responded, 'On your left!' It was such an experience. I was honestly freaking out a little bit...!

    These tunnels should never be a tourists attraction. The local Vietnamese treat these tunnels as a memorial, where lifes were lost, where lots of suffering took place and where many families lived for several years and only experienced fresh air during night time. Show respect.

    My husband served in VN in 1968. His headquarters was in Chu Chi but he spent most of his time in the field. I’ve asked him if he’d like to visit again. He saw too many lives lost. He was thin and as a new soldier there, he was a tunnel rat to route out the Viet cong. He lost most of his hearing because of it. He was there 8 months when he sustained his 3rd wounds and that one took him to the hospital in Japan for the next 3 months. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to revisit the area. I’m sure the tunnels were an architectural marvel but I see them as DEATH and nothing to be celebrated.

    • @BagsPackedFamily
      @BagsPackedFamily  2 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely, just heartbreaking to think about all the lives lost. I can’t imagine being in a war and experiencing what goes on. As a history teacher, visiting historical war sites provides a tangible experience and heart wrenching reminder of the effects of conflicts. The hope is that we learn from the past, so we don’t have to repeat it. Many people go back to war sites (Civil War, WWl, WWll, Vietnam, Korea, etc.) to learn, to remember, and some for closure, while for others the trauma is too much. I understand that, too ❤️‍🩹

Số bom đạn mà riêng Mỹ ném xuống Việt Nam gấp 3,7 lần số lượng bom đạn tất cả các nước sử dụng trong chiến tranh thế giới thứ 2. Chúng tôi chiến đấu để dành lại tổ quốc, dành lại danh dự và quyền tự quyết cho dân tộc mình.
