Another new plugin you might find interesting is the DJ Swivel Hitstrip (terrible name). It’s a full featured channel strip with the workflow of pro Q3
As a JJ fan, I anticipated the release of this plugin and when he released it, and after research I discovered I didn’t need it. I love JJ for his contributions in the engineering community but this and God Particle in my opinion are for beginner engineers looking to throw these plugins on busses and getting a good sound, especially those who make more hiphop/trap music. They are good tools but very cpu hungry for those on pcs but very good for referencing and helping someone looking to reach a particular sonic goal when mixing trap records but once you catch your stride on your mixing you’ll begin to use them less until they eventually become a plugin that’s just in your library. But as much as I did want to support him I personally don’t see a use case for this plugin in my library plus I love the tools I’m already using for drum bus processing.
I’d say that this one is definitely geared towards a niche crowd. I tried it extensively on several tracks and could not for the life of me, get it to make any drums sound decent. On the other hand, I had plenty of luck getting my drums to sound amazing with either the SUCCESSOR or the 610 Complimiter. Either one of this is definitely worth checking out and a video to match.
agree - actually I used God particle a bit its lost somewhere now unused haha! Mr JJ is I think is just trying to make money (obviously) but I find it s a bit arrogant.
I said the same thing about having a mix knob on the sat and comp in a comment on their release video. Basically, as a rock musician and for anyone serious about mixing it's just way too much ketchup.
As a fan of the God Particle I wanted to like this as a replacement for my own drum buss chain.. but as you said it feels very genre specific - for DnB and Dubstep it just didn't fit. Plus the trial killed my authenication for TGP so I had to uninstall all Cradle apps, reinstall and re-authorise - so that didn't improve my mood!!
Looks too limiting for a variety of drum busses. Maybe it works great with electronic stuff like you said but I can tell you for real acoustic rock drums, no way would I use that thing. All I need is a saturator and channel strip with a FET/VCA comp and I'm good to go. I know he's going for a time saving/single plugin in thing but sometimes it's nice to have the options for my own chain. Great video guys!
Not sure about this one, but I got the God Particle EQ spot on using the Elysia Museq in mid-side. Sorry, I can't get the image out of my head of Dan and Sean playing frisbee on a camp site dressed like Daisy Duke 🤣
The worst thing about Orion is it seems to be fine on Macs but is an absolute CPU hog on PC. With all sections turned on, it will use insane amounts of processing power. Nearly double the amount used by the actual plugins that it's based on, when those plugins are combined. Which is insane...
I was on PC for 20+ year because I felt Mac was overpriced for a little better performance. When they switched to the M chips it changed the game! I can't believe how different my mixing experience is. They just made a great priced M4 Mac mini that's super powerful. If you ever move on you won't have to worry about plugin power!!!
I have a Mac and a PC.. My PC is more powerful than my Mac. The is is purely because Cradle haven't optimised the plugin for Windows properly. Runs fine on my Mac. @@VinceJackson1
Great Video! Can You mates review the Black Box HG-Q?

@ That’s awesome. This one, imo, is best on the mixbus. Brilliant coloration. Just brings everything to life.
end of the year, you should do Dan's Top Ten Get Fuooked Faces!

I love your honest thoughts, and I agree, it fits very good for trap and drill. And from this perspective, I think it is really really good. 😊

I also found it hard to dial it without sounding over processed.
JJ admits that is exactly what he did so he doesn't need 8 plugins.
Seems to be a lot of regurgitation going on at the moment

Great, another thing that I don’t need 😅
Tried both the God Particle and the Orion and honestly, I think they both sound awful and they're not for me.
The existance of Cradle plugins is a mystery to me.
I really like the God Particle but this is pretty bad and a cpu hog even on a decent mac.
It’s a decent fixer tool at the most, if you get a mix and the drums are lacking this is a good quick fix for them.
Ohhh I thought you were Gay, you look so good together ……. … well is about sound

I feel like this and GP are a cash grab. I feel he doesn't even use them day to day, he only uses them when he does videos to advertise/sell them.
